Anus. Always Asus. Weird it had to be Asus? Or was it doomed to be so? Asus has become a real Nightmare for CableMod. But I expect they sell so many cards that they don't want stop selling adapters to that brand. And if they did, the sales for rest of the brands different 4090s would go to HELL as well. Will see if the CM reps will reply on my question in the latest burn down thread. Weird not many have asked for a meltdown statistic with custom CM 12VHPWR cables. They have it (outdated) for the adapers so why not for their custom cables? Edit. Got answer from CableMod. Nice Nvidia didn't go the more difficult route, HaHa Posted 6 hours ago Melted 180 degree adapter, also melted into my 4090 connector >.> Posted 1 hours ago Melted 4090 Strix 🔥🔥🔥 -

With a bad/lower sales of 4000 series cards they will have a flood of them at end of summer/fall 2024. And people are more careful with their money. No loss for Nvidia continue with a small refresh of Ada chips until beginning of 2025. If people want graphics cards.... This is what we offer. People are still willing to pay premium for 3000 series cards, so.... Why not? And newer gen wafers wont be cheaper.... Only more expensive https://www.tomshardware.com/news/tsmc-expected-to-charge-25000usd-per-2nm-wafer Isn't this the box you got bro @Mr. Fox? You may get one of them from $250-500. So I think about $750 for two with okish quality. No point in buying one that don't do a good job. I expect that for the cheapest. But have both the heat and the AC functionalty in one unit and you will save money after around 8 years. Maybe even before if the high prices on electricity continue. 750$ for lets say 4 weeks a year is still a lot money. And I won't get any use of it rest of the year. -

Thats still hot. But if you can keep temp below 24-25C inside with an AC unit it helps a lot. I feel the problems come if the indoor temp start passing 26-27C. If its above 30C inside I start to have some real problems. Now in the night I have 25C innside with the windows up and 20.5C outside. 25C inside is okish to sit in but more difficult if you try sleep in the nights. As it is now... Difficult to sleep well. Temp in the nights should be more like 20-22C then it would be easier to come in sleep. I may buy an heatpump for the fall/winter. This way I can have both the heat capacity in the winters (in combination with wood oven/oven as well have the aircondition funtionality the few weeks I need it in the summer. A heatpump isn't enough when the cold start... You need woodoven also. Middle Norway and further North and a heatpump ain't enough to heat up houses. They are only effecive from zero to 10 minus. But I really need that AC functionality now, HaHa It cost around $2500-2800 but I will save some money on the heat functionality in the winters. I mean it will offer 3.5 times more heat for same amount money for each KW/h. So after 8 years it may pay off. Same time save my life in the summer 🙂 -

Finally below 30C in and out. No aircondition and the houses here home is built to keep the houses warm in the winter. This is too much for me. Wish I had AC now. And the temp will continue as this the coming days. Not the best with broken lungs. -

Is it the correct English… Strapped in HOF ?😆 On the way to Papus plaza. Solgt = Sold more pict to the pict fan @electrosoft😁 This will be my second HOF. On vacation in ÅS South Norway. 25C and lots of sun. Fantastic weather. Not too hot or cold. We hired an apartment here down to celebrate my little daughter’s architecture graduate/master 🙂 If me and my wife is lucky we may have a chance to se our little daughter much more. She seeked a job after the graduation here in Trondheim. And her boyfriend said he will follow. Would be perfect for us old ones here in Papusans plaza if that happens. Getting all my sons and daughters near our house would be perfect. This is a nice way to be old. The whole family coming thigter together is fantastic. A nice end if this comes true. -

Congrats bro Fox. I continue with the same old stuff as usual. I enjoy old HW. It often gives me more than new and shiny. And 100$ cards can be more enjoyable than 10 of the mills newer 400$ cards. This HOF card should be reserved for me (reservert = reserved) if not the seller screw me and try sell it for more to others that was too late to the party. YEP, I ordered a small sister on the used market to have company with the big HOF brother. A couple of pict for bro @electrosoftThe crocks will come once I have this small beauty in my hands @ryan 🙂 3 fans card and I mean l have saved an XOC vbios and the Galax XOC tools for exactly this card. And not everyday I find it in the used market here home. I really like the HOF cards because they are very well built. They put a lot into the PCB. The force full fan functions is amazing idea (Older Clevo was also in front for this tech feature). The HOF, K|ngp|n and the Lightning have a special place in my heart due the finish is outstanding. Older the better. Todays new and modern it’s too much of the bling bling factor. I wish they learned from the past. Stop adding bling bling on all corners and up and down. Too much ofit and it becomes very ugly and tacky. ASUS denies RMAs. Nice. And Asus is also in igorslab's spotlights today Posted 5 hours ago 180 adapter melted and warranty disappointment The Neverending Story: NVIDIA's GeForce RTX 4090 and the 12VHPWR Connector - New Data from CableMod and Unanswered Questions igorslab.de The fact that Asus is represented disproportionately high here could also be due to the alignment and the opposing bending forces of the cable connections. Especially since the inverse socket does not have six ground connections as thermal buffers between tracks/shunts and the contact pins in the socket. One thing for sure... The custom angled adapters paired with this inverse socket design + the fragile small hook/latch doen't make it any better. Use Cables. Not custom angled adapters. If you need the angled adapters to be able to close the PC chassis door then buy a new chassis. Or cables with angled connectors. That simple. -
TechPowerUp NVCleanstall 1.16.0 is Now Available for Download by Techpowerup.com Yesterday, 23:15 We have updated our popular NVCleanstall software that lets you customize the NVIDIA GeForce Driver package by removing components you don't need or want. Unlike the NVIDIA custom installation, you can unselect packages like Stereo 3D Glasses, USB-C, Notebook Optimizations, or Telemetry from the NVIDIA drivers, allowing for a truly custom installation. In the latest release of NVCleanstall 1.16.0, the software has been patched with a few interesting additions. Firstly, the software can now disable NVIDIA's Ansel in-game screen capture from the driver package. Next, the software also added a new install action, "Copy Folder," which copies the NVCleanstall output directory to a folder of your choice. Besides new features, some fixes have been implemented as well. The "auto-accept unsigned driver warning" only worked on Windows 11 and has been fixed now to work on Windows 10, too. A rare crash has been fixed on systems with English (United States) culture settings, but with the decimal separator switched to a value other than "."—"," for example. Due to a change in NVIDIA's drivers the NVENC patch integration stopped working recently, which is fixed with this release as well. The upgrade is recommended for all users. The connctor is good enough. The problem is the small flimsy hook/latch. This connector should have been 40% bigger and with a much better locking mecanism. Even a better hook/latch on current connector would help on the problem. The smoke and fire will continue until this connctor get a re-design. And this won't happen before next gen cards is out at end of 2024. All we can hope for.... Class action against Nvidia or the governments force them to make a re-call of all cards with this connctor. But as you know... This new small connctor is now also on the new modern ATX 3.0 PSUs. This will be a delicate mess forwards. If we see fire with the new ATX 3.0 PSUs I think we will see a change faster than you think. -

What have happened to EVGA? They now offer their first gen ATX 3.0 PSU models and only 3 years warranty. Don't they trust their products anymore? A measly 3 years warranty only means they have went cheap on some of the components. Not what I expected when they said they should put full focus on their remaining products after they jumped of the ship as AIC partner for nvidia graphics cards. This is disgusting!!! @electrosoft @Mr. Fox You can get cheaper PSUs from Corsair that offer same 80+ Gold, with a TEN YEAR warranty. If this is the direction EVGA want to go forwards they're digging their own grave. Who want to put their trust on new PSU the manufacurer only will give 3 years warranty? Why? And 200$ is still not cheap. It will be more like $265 here home if not closer to $275. Yep, the new modern MSI ATX 3.0 PSUs is here with the yellow PCIe 16 pin connector. The most powerful model is the 850W. Can only be used with newer nvidia graphics cards due wimpy 4x 8pin connectors. Maybe AMD should subsidize the PSU manufacurers with a few $$$ so they could make PSUs that also will support AMD graphics cards? What with you bro @ryan?😆 https://www.msi.com/Power-Supply/MAG-A850GL-PCIE5/Gallery What is a day without more smoke and fire?😃 Gone is the days we only could see the 12VHPWR cables burn up. With the angled CM adapers we also see the GPU connector on the PCB get destroyed at the same time. So both damaged cable and GPU. Worst of both worlds. Posted 5 hours ago Cablemod 90 degree adapter Melted. ASUS TUF 4090. Yep, I don't like this flimsy connector setup. A slight move on the cables and the angled adaper will slowly slideits way out from the GPU connector. 1-1.5mm out from the socket is enough to start a fire. A real cable is much prefered over this Leaning Tower of Pisa. Signal loss.. And the new one will work perfectly fine the next 5 years? Russian roulette CableMod need to sell +140 angled adapters every day to pay the screwed for their 4090s. This if only one of the 4090s burn up every day. But I expect CableMod save some money if the screwed want their binned cards back from the repair or that the retail shops accept returns. -

Maybe others have different opinion on this but I have always prefered the old classic GPU mount. Fancy and new ways to try invent the wheel often fails. s Be aware of Asus cancer..... They just can't stop destroy own products. It's in their nature. ASUS ROG Ally Gets Bugfixes But Loses Performance With Latest 319 BIOS If you're a usual user of a consumer device like the ROG Ally, when an update comes down, you install it. Certainly the device itself advises you to do so. However, if you already have a ROG Ally and are enjoying the machine's high performance, don't update to BIOS version 319 through the MyASUS app. Of course, if you bought a ROG Ally over the Steam Deck, it's probably for the promise of superior performance. With that in mind, let's get you back to the maximum speed offered by the device. That means downgrading to the 317 firmware, which is possible, but ASUS doesn't make it easy—you can't do it in Windows. And all this just happens because of cost cuttings. The quality have been shrinking the last couple of years. -

Got the new home central. As expected, nothing have changed. Same problem. Called up support again and they have sent the case over to the special tech department. 3 pc, 2 phones, 3 different browsers , 4 different OS tested. Same behaviour. New home central and only VPN and the phones own internet work with notebooktalk.net Todays word as to be unappealing. This is my honest feeling about what you now will see... ZOTAC launches 38 cm long GeForce RTX 4090 PGF graphics card - VideoCardz.com Whats the point make it bigger if the flagship can't have Nvidias own specs? And this new model looks more like a shoe. So Zotac is in the boat and shoe business now, LOOL @electrosoftwhat will this be? Trash-shoe?😬 The TDP going up to 525W and way below Nvidia's 600W TDP for the FE cards. Yep, times have changed. The AIC partner cards can't even offer the same minimum as Nvidia themself for their best high end flagship cards. And yes, more fancy bling bling than the previous Zotac 4090 flagship card. A huge nope from me. More bling, same 24+4 phase VRM design, similar design in short it come with almost no extra added value. Just a new model so they can charge even more for. At least they don't use Gigabytes flawed PCB design with this huge card (PCB crack gate). Maybe better than nothing but nothing to to scream hurrayyy for. No thanks! Then we have this. I have already mentioned this in my older post. ATX 3.0 PSUs offer nothing. Only 4 times bigger risk for failure if you have a 4090 with dual 12VHPWR connector. Or double the risk for for fire for those with 4090 cards with single 12VHPWR connectors. Nice with new standard. RTX 4090 12vhpwr cable burned on PSU side? -

If you mean uninstall after my testing, then try access the forum with the internet the normal way... Nope. But will do. Not sure what outcome I will get from this because 3 of my machines have the same problem. A really weird problem. Started a couple of days before... I can’t see anything wrong. Both vpn and internet from the phone works great. And same behavior on 3 different machines. I have also reset router/home central. Nothing different. A new home central is on the way. I have seen something similar before. The previous internet vendor blocked tomshardware website. I called them and the website worked afterward. I mean it’s directly from local. I just downloaded a vpn app and did no changes in the setup. Just plug and play to check if that worked. Worked equal well as with my phone internet. Btw. What’s the best paid and free vpn?
