  1. Yup, we are forced on filthy because engineers think Unisex system is good. And the same happens also with modern processors nowadys. Because Jokebooks is their main cash-grab. You know M.2 SSDs suck, right? M.2's elevation For some bono-headed reason, somebody decided that attaching an SSD directly to the motherboard was the best path forward. M.2 rapidly became the most widely adopted connection and to this day, almost every performance-based consumer SSD is a 2280 form factor NVMe M.2 drive. The whole world is filled with STUPIDITY

  3. Thank you very much my friend 🙂 For you and all my friends on Notebooktalk..... I really hope 2024 will be a much better year than the year we now go out from. 2023 was a Annus horribilis for us here home so I really hope 2024 will be our annus mirabilis. Happy New Year!! 🙂 From Papusan's plaza🙂 Overclocker League (Enhusiasts) 2023. Yet another reason to avoid fancy and modern White color themed hardware. If they can't make it right... Maybe stop make/design products the "Dell Alienware" way.
  4. LOOL. I'm not even close to match you my friend🙂 https://hwbot.org/user/papusan/ @Mr. Fox It seems CSM support is bugged in 0080. Not sure whats up. It randomly being disabled.
  5. 4 new Gold to @PremaHwbot team with GTX 960🙂 For @ryan😆 https://hwbot.org/submission/5441538_papusan_3dmark_vantage___performance_geforce_gtx_960_51981_marks?recalculate=true https://hwbot.org/submission/5441532_papusan_3dmark11___performance_geforce_gtx_960_14091_marks?recalculate=true https://hwbot.org/submission/5441540_papusan_3dmark_vantage___performance_(gpu)_geforce_gtx_960_42710_marks?recalculate=true https://hwbot.org/submission/5441536_papusan_3dmark11___entry_geforce_gtx_960_23036_marks?recalculate=true
  6. The stupids at Asus engineering team thought it was much better with an 8-pin instead for the 6-pin power connector for the board. Hence they removed 2 SATA ports to be able to have enough space on the board to provide more power for USB-C Storage. They mean desktops should have same features as Jokebooks "on the go". And they offered same stupididity when they removed the Gen_5 PCIe add in board for the new useless M.2 Gen 5 slot right below the CPU. Yup, they mean OC/gamer boards should only use 8-PCIe lines for the GPU. I have no need for the M.2_1 slot. Useless. Give back the Add in board if I want to steal PCIe lines from the GPU. * M.2_1 shares bandwidth with PCIEX16(G5)_2 and PCIEX16(G5)_1. When M.2_1 is occupied with SSD device, PCIEX16(G5)_2 will be disabled and PCIEX16(G5)_1 will run x8 only. ** USB Type-C® power delivery output: 5/9/15/20V max. 3A, PPS:3.3–21V max. 3A
  7. Yup. Voltage control work with GPUTweakll with newer nvidia drivers. MSI Afterburner.... Nope. But if I add voltage first with the Asus tool, then I can see the voltage slider in Msi Afterburner being maxed out. Nice. And the stupids at Nvidia still haven't fixed the locked down voltage for Maxwell graphics cards. When will they do the same for Pascal and Turing? When Blackwell is out? Hmmm. GTX 960 @ryan do you know what the Norwegian word Gull meaning in English?😀 https://hwbot.org/submission/5440484_papusan_3dmark___time_spy_geforce_gtx_960_3221_marks?recalculate=true https://hwbot.org/submission/5440493_papusan_3dmark___sky_diver_geforce_gtx_960_34041_marks?recalculate=true
  8. Finally had the time to take a look on the MSI GeForce GTX 960 GAMING 100ME (Limited Edition). Not a bad sample. Asic 80.8% and +295 on the cores in GPUPI without touching the voltage. And Samsung vram. Yup, not bad. 9. From every new patch note.... "Improved system performance". I can't grasp why etc Safedisk didn't want to explain what's improved in every new bios versions they throw out. So completely avoiding the topic. Oh'well, it's Asus and they don't want to tell more than needed (same with other OEMs). Maybe Intel also have something to say if Asus go own ways. Only those working closely with this brand (the elite and their friends) will have all this info. I'm not sure you'll get the WD_Black so much cheaper.... SSD prices predicted to skyrocket throughout 2024 And the price hike will apply most of new tech. $664.39 for Core i9-14900. Hmmm, no thanks. The trend goes the wrong way. Raptor Lake Refresh non-K CPUs are seemingly more expensive than prior-gen models — overseas retailer lists non-K CPUs ahead of launch
  10. Maybe start with BIOS 0506. I mean people wasn't happy with the newer BIOS 0507. These two bios versions have the older ME 16.1.30.2264. And I mean the Encore come with this ME version istalled.
  11. Congrats bro Fox. From what I have seen it works ok. But can't compare it with 0070/0071 many others have had sucksess with. I never flashed those versions. Remember the 0070 and forwards need newest IMEI. And I think the bios have it baked in. Maybe waith with the newest. I think its 0801 from Asus support page come with new security fixes https://rog.asus.com/motherboards/rog-maximus/rog-maximus-z790-apex-encore/helpdesk_bios/ Ps. The vram nvidia should have used for 4090's. NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER Gets World's Fastest GDDR6X Memory Solution Clocking In At 23 Gbps Pin Speeds, Reveals RTX 40 SUPER Specs Leak We have also come to know that there were indeed plans for a GeForce RTX 4090 SUPER though those were dropped due to the recent sanctions which limit the release of GPUs hitting over 4800 TOPs in China and other regions. Currently, there are no plans to do a RTX 4090 SUPER or Ti GPU but that might change if restrictions soften up in the coming year (which seems unlikely at the moment).
  12. Chrome incognito mode not so private: Google to settle in class-action lawsuit Did Google portray incognito mode as more private than it really is?
  13. Remember the 4090 is a very great selling graphics card. And China + the rest of the foreign banned U.S countries stands for 1/3 of Nvidia's Global sales of graphic cards. So not many AD102 dies will go to spill. The question will be.... Will there be enough defective AD102 dies for a global sales of 4080Ti ? And how many of the 4090D for the "gamers" will the Chinese AI companies grab for AI workloads? Hmm.... A possible 4080Ti with ~12416 cores and 20GB of memory need to cost at least $1399 if nvidia want to bother with it. They have done magic (Max-Q) before... So who knows😀
  14. Same fan model. But this is the slower 2000 RPM model for the same awful MSRP. And all testers outside Igorslab said they are overpriced and not worth the price or price vs performance. And lower performance vs some cheaper fans doesn't make it more appealing. A huge Nope.
  15. Today's stupidity x 2. First the new SFX PSU from Silverstone. If you have an Asus MB and want a used Nvidia or the newest AMD Radeon graphics card you'll lack 8-pin connectors. Many Asus MB will eat up 3x 8-pin connectors (2x8-pin for the Cpu and 1x8 pin for the MB). Yup, newer has to be better @Rage Set🤔 And you can't use custom mod cables with 8pin power connector with 8pin pigtail extension. Because his modern junk doesn't support it. Stamp... Failure. SilverStone Intros Extreme1200R Platinum, an SFX-L PSU with 12V-2x6 Connector techpowerup.com And what have Alphacool done with their price strategy? Yup, it's only a fan bro @Mr. Fox But would you pay same price for a 1000 rpm "metal" fan as for a more potent plastic fan that can push 3000 RPM? Hmmm. Today's tech companies is weird animals. The Alphacool Apex Stealth Metal 120mm has the same price as its 3000 RPM variant in the online stores I looked at, which doesn’t make much sense. Since the Power (3000 RPM) version is also PWM controlled and everything else is the same, build quality-wise, there is no point in getting the lower speed version at the same money. Moreover, airflow is among the lowest in this category (120mm fans with 25-27mm thickness), while static pressure as a max value is low. The Alphacool Apex Stealth Metal fan is a highly quality fan, but what about performance? After the review of its “Power” sibling, I decided to look at the less powerfull member with 2000 RPM max speed, to check how it performs. https://hwbusters.com/cooling/alphacool-apex-stealth-metal-120mm-fan-review/10/
  16. Isn't it cute? Confirmed, Nvidia can sell GPUs with +12% less cores for the same prices. Hmmm.... Wonder how many top binned AD102 dies will go into the Defective version of 4090 for the Chineese market. The newborn 4090 Defective will most likely also go into the Chineese AI Servers. And where will an possible 4080 Ti for the Global market fits into this? @electrosoft😀 https://videocardz.com/newz/chinese-nvidia-rtx-4090d-to-launch-today-with-reduced-tensor-core-specs
  17. Yup even more bang-for-buck if these disgusting prices below are correct.....🤮🤢🥴 Yes, I really hope this rumored prices is wrong. But it's Nvidia products, so..... NVIDIA's announcement for the RTX 40 SUPER series is scheduled for CES 2024 on January 8, with detailed pricing and clock specifications yet to be released. The above data provides an initial understanding of the variations between each model. The estimated prices in USD, excluding VAT, are approximately $1,461 for the 4080S, $1,120 for the 4070TiS, and $885 for the 4070S. Converted into Norwegian prices incl Tax.... $1826 for the 4080S, $1400 for the 4070TiS, and $1062 for the 4070S. Then add the currency exchange fees the retail take. Often up to 10% on top. Is this a huge joke or real? I have to pay +$1062 for the cheaper 4070 Super. Nope, not in Hell. My 4090 HOF looks like better and better value for every months that come. GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER: Technical Details Revealed - AD103 Silicon, 16GB Memory Published 10 hours ago by Hilbert Hagedoorn The RTX 4070 Ti SUPER is anticipated to feature 16 GB of memory, potentially using a 256-bit memory interface. This suggests the use of the larger AD103 silicon, as opposed to the AD104 silicon currently used in the RTX 4070 Ti. The RTX 4080 SUPER is also expected to have 16 GB of memory with a 256-bit interface, similar to the standard RTX 4080. This is achieved through the AD103 silicon, which allows for 76 out of 80 Stream Multiprocessors (SM) or 38 out of 40 Texture Processing Clusters (TPC) to be active.

  19. They even abandon their one time great support nowadays. A weird way to cut costs before they go out of business. Yup, my advice a few days ago, to avoid their new PSUs/gears is still valid. Avoid, sinking ship. Sell all your EVGA gears on the used market before it's too late. Try grab back most of the money while you still can. The Z690 gen motherboards was in short a tragedy so nice to see Evga's old Z690 kick ass and can be on level and above most of the newer gen Z790 boards.

  21. The 4TB WD_Black SN850X NVMe SSD is back to its all time low price at Amazon The 4TB WD_Black SN850X Gen4 NVMe SSD, with read speeds of up to 7,300 MB percent and with Microsoft's DirectStorage support, is discounted at Amazon at its all-time low price of just $229.95. Here home... Cheapo $372.40 USD. Or +140$ above.
  22. Dont forget.... You are not limited with space in a desktop chassis. In laptops you haven't much other choices than buy the biggest M.2 NVMe you can find. Just look in an Mac-Joke. Soldered ssd nand/chips because of the very limited space in the Jokebooks chassis. Many lap-jokes come with only 2x M.2 slots. Some with only one or even only with the shorter 2240 M.2 ssd's.
