Have never been a myth. Neither was it with the old fashion 8-pin connectors. The main difference.... The new tiny junk should have lower plug/unplug rating. You are lucky if the 12+4 pin connectors keep up with specs. In short... Alll too tiny and fragile. 50% bigger would be a blessing. I have no problem with the 12+4 pin connectors if they was a bit bigger and less fragile. NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER stock running low in the US, no MSRP cards available videocardz.com https://videocardz.com/newz/nvidia-geforce-rtx-4080-super-stock-running-low-in-the-us-no-msrp-cards-available Not the same problem here home. Less of the flagship models are available but you can find cards that fits your need. -

Two new original adapters cost $37.50 USD ($18.75 with one cable). Not the world's end. But will send a complaint when I have the time. Most important is to order so I have them within reasonable time from the Norwegian pc shop. Get replacements from Bequiet in Germany take probably +4 weeks included support time. But I will enjoy go back to the old fashion 8-pins cables for the old cards🙂 Nothing can beat old reliable tech. -

Regardless.. I will buy two new. See what they say. And I put in and out cards so have spare parts like this tiny trash is probably smart. Nope. I don't want use that dual pigtails. They use 8x8 pins for the HOF and I don't want change how it is inside the pc box. I'll go back to benching my old cards while I wait for new cables. I'll put in the 970 HOF for now. -

Thank god I have the HOF with notification in the hardware and dual power connector. Got flash warning in my bench session and turned off the pc. The left power connector wasn't properly connected and when I took of the connector I saw the hook was barely together. I tried to adjust the gap on the hook and it just fell off. Can't say I'm happy with the Bequiet 12+4 pin power cable. I bench many different cards so I take the card in and out. But far from 30 times. This fragile little piece of power connector is pure trash. At least the power pins and the terminals was clean and nice. That's something. Afterwards I plugged in the broken 12VHPWR connector back on the card without the hook and started up the PC again. Run a bench to see if everything worked. Risky... Oh yeah, but I wanted to see if everything worked well before I take out the card and put back one of my other HOF cards. I won't risk this card with continued benching with a broken 12VHPWR connector😀 Now I need to order, not only one but two new. I don't risk re-use the second 12VHPWR cable. And I will send in an complaint to beQuiet support. Damn Nvidia... I wish they started to use their brain and go back to bigger and better power connectors. This isn't good enough. I have not enough time to deal with such trashware. At least I got finished 3Dmark 11 Performance before I removed the card😎 https://hwbot.org/submission/5477024_papusan_3dmark11___performance_geforce_rtx_4090_82551_marks -
Windows 10 Users Targeted with Persistent Upgrade Prompts to Windows 11 Published 6 hours ago by Hilbert Hagedoorn Microsoft is stepping up their game to encourage everyone still on Windows 10 to leap to Windows 11. They've started popping up these big, hard-to-ignore ads on your screen, which you might have seen if you're still using Windows 10. Not everyone's getting these nudges, though. They kicked off after a recent optional update in January. And these aren't the typical ads that you can just close and forget about. Nope, they've made them so you've got to actually pay attention and click through four different slides that talk up all the great things about Windows 11. But they don't mention if your computer might not be up to running it, which feels a bit sneaky.

Hmmm. Maybe loads of the produced 4080 Super cards go directly into China now? Remember China stands for 1/3 of the global GPU market. If China AI companies suck up most of the limited Defective 4090's they can find then expect 4080 Super above MSRP will be an good options for the gamers that want any available flagship cards they can find. If you live in the west you probably can find 4090's you can buy forwards. Big win win solution... For Nvidia and their board partners. Increased ASP help on the bottom line. Average Selling Price (ASP) Edit. Regarding the angled mess from Cablemod... If your GPU is damaged because of a failed adapter, we will repair it if your damage claim is submitted to us by February 22, 2024. CableMod will no longer reimburse the purchase price of a GPU that may have been damaged by a failed angled adapter. If all they offer is a repair.... They can't stick aways from the cards orginal genuine warranty. If you lose your warranty because you used their angled fire crackers, they have to offer exactly same warranty as the AIB partner/your home town. And not only for the connector failure. The whole card has to keep same orginal warranty in the whole warranted lifespan... Btw. Maybe it's time buy a real pc box instead for the modern small PC joke-boxes out there. Or just buy a graphics cards meant for modern tiny boxes. A truck engine isn't intended to be used for motorcycles/mini cars, so..... That's that. I wonder when we will see a world wide recall. Btw. I wonder how many will buy used or so called new Cablemod angled adapters on etc Ebay and similar sales webpages without knowing how they "perform". They will pay the ultimate price. -

Thanks for the video bro Rage. You are welcome any day come visiting Papusan's plaza. Norway is one of the hardest place to live in due the though/hard climate most of the year here up in the cold North. I wish Norway was placed a bit longer South. Around level of Germany would be nice. All too cold and rainy here. Cablemod bragged about +90.000 sold angled adapters.... They should be very happy they have liars in their support team. And they banned me from their sub forum because I was honest and told everyone that they should avoid use this 12+4 pin angled fire cracker. Yup a lot easier with dual vbios. But a spare old Gpu help as well if the board(Cpu doesn't support iGPU. Glad you fixed it. Here is another 4090 twin/sibling model without vbios switch. It seems nvidia have shipped a few batches of 4090 FE with bad power connectors or the users are so afraid for melting that they use too much force. Seems the tiny 12+4 pin power connectors is Nvidia's main problem. Either they go up in smoke or breake. The ultimate choice between Pest and Cholera. Have you tried x-flash unverfied vbios thats up on Techpowerup? I see also this time Galax go outside the other AIB partners and provide vbios with an higher TGP limit (450W). -

Same can be said for Microsoft's security features. BitLocker's reliance on a TPM for security is its own downfall in this specific exploit. Yup, those premium stages may help if you x-flash Galax 660W vbios. But for gaming... They don't help much. With no XOC/Galax vbios you can just buy whatever float your boat. Don't be surprised that Nvidia is able to totally stop X-flashing with next gen graphics cards. Same with new modern motherboards. They are overbuilt to max out profits. Yep. I read your whole post and saw what you meant. I think a lot help if they can explain the value of money. Much in the technological jump can be compared to real life. Everything cost money. Teach their children what's right and whats wrong. My own childeren grew up in the era of internet and sub/payments for everything. They suck up everything from all places. From games to the dreaded sosial media. You can come a long way as parents with basic understanding. And talk with you children. Thats the most important part in this. You don't need to understand everything that happen now in the tech world 🙂 -

That's people with money. But much of the games with such sucky items is pushed towards the young ones. And be you sure... Many will be tricked into paying for something they don't understand the range of. They don't even need to be stupid... They are often dragged in by others/friends and this will only worsen. Not Cablemod this time😁 Faulty 12V2x6 connector found with RTX 4080 Super card Igor's Lab determined the root cause of the issue, and says the PCI-SIG specifications for the 12V2x6 connector do not specify the exact dimensions of the connector itself, leaving cable manufacturers to do whatever they want. PCI-SIG specifies the header length, width, and height. Apparently, at least one manufacturer who builds Nvidia's 12V2x6 adapters messed up badly in the quality control department, potentially leading to some batches being defective — or at least, Igor received a defective adapter with one card. Regardless, if you happen to purchase a new RTX 40-series graphics card that includes any 16-pin adapter, it's important to ensure it fully 'clicks' into place. RTX 4080 Super teardown sheds light on power connector controversy A teardown of the Palit GeForce RTX 4080 Super GamingPro OC revealed spacing on the PCB for two 8-pin PCIe power connectors. Curiously, the empty area is right next to the 12VHPWR power connector, almost as if using the connector was a decision after the original design. Although PCI-SIG has improved the design of the 12VHPWR power connector for enhanced safety, there is still a bit of fear surrounding the revised 12V-2x6 power connector, especially after the original one was the star of the meltdown fiasco on the flagship GeForce RTX 4090. -

Yup, if they don't fix the pricing the results will be even worse forwards.... AMD's results hurt by slowing demand for client and gaming hardware. Nvidia was able to compete with the $1199 regular 4080. With the cheaper Super refresh they will eat AMD to dinner. 7900 XTX can't be above $899. Rather sub $850 because many gamers will also buy the cheaper 4070 Ti Super for the added Nvidia features AMD can't compete with. AMD is under double fire now. And they need to put the price point for 7900XTX closer to the 4070 Ti Super. Yup, almost as Jayz took the words out of my mouth... Still terrible value. -

I would wait to see if I could grab a 4080 Super FE if I jumped on 4080 train. And there is still a chance you can get some cheaper vanilla 4080 cards coming below the Super MSRP. But if people are in need for new card... I can see where you go🙂 -

No in hell I would pay $1100 and upwards for the custom 4080 Super cards. The $899 $999 MSRP for the vanilla cards is already bad value. Same was it for the custom EOL 4080's (even the lower end 4080s at MSRP). Add a custom block on top and the price for the custom 4080 Super cards will be even more disgusting. Just buy a vanilla card and flash to an better bios. And just run as is with the air cooler. Edit..... I still can't stop feeling pitty for those that jumped on the 4080 MSRP cards at $1200 USD. Those that jumped on custom 4080's from $1200 and upwards ($1450 for 4080 Strix OC) has to blame themself. Also this time you can see Asus fail deliver with their best binned flagship custom Strix OC cards. Can't even beat their cheaper cards (see the TUF OC Joke offer higher boost clock than the flagship). Yup, pay more... Get less. The modern tech trend continue. ASUS GeForce RTX 4080 Super STRIX OC Review And how can MSI be able to make a worse cooler/heatsink for their $1150 custom cards than Nvidia's 4080 Super FE model at $999 ? How much did MSI save on this? MSI GeForce RTX 4080 Super Expert Review Btw. The modest 1 to 3 percent performance increase with the higher boost clocks, more cores and speedier vram just show that the performance gains don't go proporsional upwards with the higher end of the SKUs. Maybe this works out better with the lower end SKUs. Pay more get less, HaHa Performance Averaged over the 25 games in our test suite, at 4K, we find the card only 1.5% faster than 4080 non-Super Founders Edition, which is MUCH less than expected. While NVIDIA never said "+5%," I definitely expected more. It's not a power limit issue, running at max power yields another +1% only. These numbers are pretty constant across resolutions, and even with RT enabled, too. There is definitely some variations in GPU chip silicon quality, which affects performance due to the way NVIDIA's Boost algorithm works, but with my sample size of 9 cards tested, I think that I can confidently say that there's no way you're getting +5% out of the 4080 Super, unless you manually overclock it. Other reviewers have similar numbers, so it's not just me. Surprisingly, the RTX 4070 Super, initially considered the least exciting among the new releases on forums, showed the highest performance increase (+15%). In contrast, the RTX 4070 Ti Super, despite receiving a GPU upgrade and a 33% memory bandwidth increase, only saw a modest +5% in extra performance. Today's release could almost be labeled a "rebrand," but the improved pricing certainly adds to its appeal.
