  1. It just follow the trend to please modern people.... Many of they is in hunt for new gaming PC's. MSI's new Intel-powered Claw handheld pictured and benchmarked A promotional image showing an MSI-branded handheld gaming PC
  2. What more to say.... But can you find it in black?😁 But thanks brother for the heads up😍 Here's the real dumb dums for modern gamer kids... Want it? I wonder what premium Asus will charge for this. I really hope bro @ryan don't jump in the trap. Because this isn't much better than Jokebooks. Asus teases ROG NUC, ready to be unveiled on January 8 Asus is looking to create a new gaming market under the NUC category
  3. Maybe the situation is different in China. Everyone want a card and they have problem find 4090's. Gamers is probably happy with the rest of the overpriced SKU line. If they can't find any 4090's they will go for the 4080. Not the best benchmark to grab numbers from but 20W higher TGP sure will help. NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER GPU Benchmarks Leak Out, Almost As Fast As RTX 4070 Ti Zotac GTX 980Ti Amp.Extreme. Not bad🙂 https://hwbot.org/submission/5447745_papusan_3dmark_vantage___performance_geforce_gtx_980_ti_103666_marks
  4. Resurfaced Video Shows Young Jensen Huang Promising ’Inexpensive' GPUs.... After a brief intro, Jensen outlined his vision beginning at 8:20 in the video, where he talked about the importance of making gaming graphics cards affordable. “We started a company and the business plan basically read something like this,” stated the Nvidia CEO. “We are going to take technology that is only available only in the most expensive workstations. We’re going… to try and reinvent the technology and make it inexpensive.” <Inexpensive> = https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/inexpensive Edit. Why have AMD all sorts of compatibility problems with their producs? Do they test their newer products? Ryzen CPU bug crashes PCs using Firewire devices A strange bug involving AMD's modern Ryzen CPUs and the old Firewire standard. Without getting too technical, Firewire and Ryzen users would often see their PCs crash if the "isochronous cycle timer" register on the CPU was accessed. This register would be accessed if a user ever plugged in a Firewire device or was using software that required constant access to the register. Although crashes are no longer a problem for Firewire-Ryzen PCs, the patch is a double-edged sword and "brings apparent disadvantage since time-aware application programs require it," according to Sakamoto. Linux users with this hardware combination might have to switch to Intel or even downgrade to one of AMD's pre-Ryzen CPUs, as neither exhibit the same problems seen on Ryzen-powered PCs.
  5. Yup the new old I swapped in works well. Zotac GTX980Ti Amp. Extreme. Good scores in GPUPI 1B and GPUIPI 32B https://hwbot.org/submission/5446659_papusan_gpupi___32b_geforce_gtx_980_ti_16min_41sec_573ms?recalculate=true https://hwbot.org/submission/5446637_papusan_gpupi___1b_geforce_gtx_980_ti_14sec_778ms?recalculate=true Hmmm. Something is true here but not everything. NVIDIA Gaming GPUs Reportedly Facing Global Shortages As AI Chips Take Production Priority Well, since AI GPUs designed for computing are much more profitable than gaming ones, it does seem "professional" of NVIDIA to prioritize their supply.
  6. Free to grab: Epic Games Marvel Guardians of the Galaxy The Epic Games Store is currently featuring Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy as a free download until January 11. This offer is part of the store's promotional series, which started on December 13 and included a total of 17 titles. The game, available for a limited time, will be succeeded by Sail Forth. Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy, developed by Eidos-Montréal, was released in October 2021. It is a single-player adventure game noted for its engaging story, interactive dialogues, and a soundtrack comprising popular tracks from the 1980s. The game, while experiencing some technical issues and receiving mixed feedback on gameplay, has been generally well-received. Grab it here.
  7. Yup, Nvidia have no problems get rid of the defective AD102 chips that don't go into the few 4090s for the gamers. NVIDIA RTX 5880 ADA with 14K shader cores and 48GB Published by Hilbert Hagedoorn NVIDIA has unveiled the RTX 5880 ADA, a new professional desktop GPU tailored for tasks such as 3D modeling, rendering, data visualization, and video streaming. This release comes in response to U.S. export restrictions, which have limited the availability of the flagship RTX 6000 ADA GPU in specific regions, including China. The RTX 5880 ADA aims to address these restrictions by offering reduced specifications that conform to the imposed performance limits. The key feature of the RTX 5880 ADA is its AD102 GPU, which houses 14,080 CUDA cores, representing a 22% reduction compared to the RTX 6000 ADA.
  8. Yes. And only a re-flash fix it. Sometime you have to flash an older version. But all this follow the tech trend nowadays. It just has to be bugged software, OS and firmware. They just can't make it right. You shouldn't have to experience this mess with a simple switch over to the second bios rom. Oh'well it’s what it is. A flash put it back to working state. But it seems I have weird problems with the new old 960 card. I had to use another GPU to get a picture😕 I'm quite sure the card works ok so this is weird. When I have the time I will put it into the old test machine and see what happens. If you can find the 14700K for around the same amount money then you get 20 cores and slightly higher clock speed. And you get Intel APO support if that is something you care about. Could be handy for the gamers if Intel was able to implement it for more games. Intel Core i7 14700K review Sum up That said, Intel is offering a lot more chip for your money with the 14700K over previous generations. If you're chasing multithreaded power and don't want to sacrifice leading gaming performance, you won't find a rival for the same money.
  9. @Mr. Fox what bios version and ME did you land on for the Encore? Look at this beauty. I switced to bios chip 2 with the realease bios 0220. Nice feature. Edit. See also The big improvement on Encore bios 0070 and 0071 doesn't apply to most of us. Nice. Make beta firmware that match the LN2 needs. 10. Buy whatever float your boat. But avoid any of the gaming-books. A desktop build can in most instances being upgraded. RAIJINTEK Arcadia III Mid-Tower in the test – This is how a budget case under 40 euros works! PS. €40 is equal to $43.80 USD. New PC builds doesn't need to cost a fortune.
  11. I don't see 8K gaming will be a thing for now or near future. 4090's will be pushed down to 1440P gaming and Nvidia will push out new cards for 4K with the 5090. You don't kill your milking cow. Going down from 8K to 4K is something Nvidia wouldn't like. They don't want that you can keep your card until it's EOL with 4K gaming. Being pushed down from 4K to 1440P would help more on upselling new cards. Nice sum up from arstechnica. 2023 was the year that GPUs stood still A new GPU generation did very little to change the speed you get for your money.
  12. Yup. And and there will be more options to go for after nvidia have put out the Super cards. Both in the used market as well from retail/system builders. Isn't this disgusting? They (OEM/Nvidia) use the TDP/TGP as upgrade paths for the Jokebooks nowadays. In my world... This is pure scam. Pure evil. Or better say pure greed. nvidia could offer a refreshed 4090 mobile with more Cuda cores, but those maxed out AD103 chips will go into 4080 Super. Or AI cards for the Chineese. But I expect the laptop gamer jockey's don't see the difference anyway. As long its brand new.... Have to be better than previous 4090 Jokebook mod3l🤯 MSI TITAN 18 HX RTX 4090/4080 gaming laptop comes with 270W mode and 400W power supply The most interesting detail that was just revealed is the new 270W TDP mode for combined CPU and GPU power. In contrast to the previous TITAN’s 250W mode, this upgrade implies a 175W TGP for the graphics and a 95W boost for the CPU, a significant 40W increase from the default TDP. Importantly, this remains within the MTP (Maximum Turbo Power) limits set by Intel at 157W.
  13. Damn close, that cd cover🙂 Blond as a viking female from Norway. The beauty come from the cold North😉
  14. Hmmm. Swap out that letter for the Jokebook😀 $500 usd is a lot money. Even if you say it's free money. Yup, return to sender🙂
  15. I forgot this one below. Why can't you be allowed to handle this by yourself in the settings? As far as privacy is concerned, it is unclear how often Safety Check runs and how often Chrome reports back to the mothership. There is no option to turn this off.
  16. Hmm. You got it for free ... The Papusan way? Maybe see if you can find cheap 2x16GB kit. Then scrap the 8GB stick.
  17. Why change it only for the change? Some have discovered that the grass ain't so green on the other side. And some don't want to be tricked by Stupids that tells you that "newer has to be better". Yep, there is still hope for the humanity @Mr. Fox Windows 10 holds strong: nearly 7 out of 10 desktops still powered by the older OS Windows 11 just can't seem to catch up.
  18. Is newer always better bro @ryan @Mr. Fox @Rage Set? Why make own products more and more ugly? For the attention it create? I hate Chrome browser's new design with a burning passion. Here's how to revert to the classic one.
  19. Hmmm Edit. We can continue talk about HELL NO. Nice winter weather here home. Already 11 minus and strong icecold wind that makes the temperature feels more like minus 20. And it gets worse. Much worse. I expect from 25-35C minus outside Papusan's plaza in the coming days. Then you have the wind on top. Yup, nice being stuck in the cold North. Once the cold is finished then we are back to rain and windy days again. Then it will switch over again. Oh'gosh I hate it. It gets worse - then comes the Siberian monster Snow and strong winds have ravaged Southern Norway in particular. When the low pressure is over - the monster cold comes from Siberia. In some parts longer up in north of Norway we may even see temps colder than minus 40. Pair that with fresh blowing wind and you will really feel your alive.
  20. Hi. Desktop build is the only way forwards. Regarding AMD I can't help much. I prefer Intel systems. In same way as I prefer Nvidia over AMD. But for the PSU.... See if you can find a cheap second gen Corsair HX1500i (2022) or the newer refreshed HX1500i with Atx 3.0 specs (only ATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 certified). Both is very good options as Corsair still haven't implemented 12VHPWR connectors on the PSU panel. Which is a good thing. Buy the one you get at best price. PC Part Disaster: Disappointment PC Build 2023 (Worst Parts of the Year). As long new is always better newer it will sell regardless. All too much new tech have almost no value (in short... trash) or is just overpriced vs the offered performance.
  21. Yup, and the trend run in a pace we have never seen before. Kingston Fury Renegade RGB DDR5-7200 48GB Dual-Channel Memory Kit Review tweaktown.com Final Thoughts A lot of their R&D money went into styling, which is obvious. Mixing matte black with brushed aluminum, machined FURY in the center, and brutish angles all over, even found in the diffuser, all come together to make an aesthetically pleasing presentation For what RAM is intended, performance comes first for us, and the Fury Renegade RGB does not deliver as expected when scaled against other slower kits.
  22. On a tight budget? Steam has tons of great games on sale for $5 https://www.tweaktown.com/news/95207/on-tight-budget-steam-has-tons-of-great-games-sale-for-5/index.html
  23. Main problem... Cheapo PSUs that only offer 150W from their 8-pin power connectors. They use cheapo parts and cables with wire gauge at 18 or even 20. Hence Nvidia offered the 4x8pin to 12VHPWR power connector to be sure even trash PSUs could be used with their flagship cards. Nvidia would never ever designed new cards with 4x 8pin power connectors. Only Galax made it correct with the 4090 HOF. But rest of their 4090 SKUs only got same single 12+4 pin connector. Nvidia could also re-design the power delivery so the card could use more power from the PCIe slot. 4090s don't make much use of the power from that slot. Nvidia prefer to let the cards have all power from the slimy thin new modern 4+12 mini connector. Add more failure points to already weak design and you have the complete disaster. This will hunt Cablemod years forwards. A real damage to the brand. Thanks to nvidia want slimmer PCBs for the whole range of graphics cards. And one connector fits all is cheaper than use up to 4x 8pin connectors/terminals. u/GladGeologist4311 - 17 minutes ago Angle connector just melting my 4090 Once people have bought adapers they won't check if they are safe to use... Cleanest build Edit. What I'm afraid of.... Nvidia will be more restrictive with max TGP with next gen cards. This way they can offer higher safety margins for the 12+4 pin power connector/cables. Because they know people often go very cheapo on other hardware. Can also add in.... The next gen cards will probably be deigned smaller so people with mini-boxes can use the big boy cards. We see this already now with the release of the slim version cards. And the slimy Apple trend continue. And the quality follow same paths... 3 out of 5 stars is all too much. But sadly it will still sell as hot chocolate in a cold day if it fits into your filthy tiny trash box. Trash will make place for more trash if you understand what I mean.... "Garbage breed life into more garbage".
