I used to own a couple premium laptops. I had a Toshiba Quosimo back in the day, plus a couple MSI lappys. Right now I have a 13" HP trashbook that will play some games, but will give you a sunburn on your legs. -

Got the new Bykski block installed. I will try and run some benchmarks this weekend to test it's performance. I just read this article which apparently started at Anandtech. If this is true, Intel will be in a world of hurt. https://wccftech.com/amd-zen-5-cpu-core-architecture-over-40-percent-faster-than-zen-4/ -

Not true, they've been rock solid for me the last few years. -

I honestly hope the Redmond morons decide to do a subscription based windows 12, then they can watch their market share collapse. Linux keeps improving, while windows gets worse. -

I am of the opposite mindset. Intel has never offered a product that I've been remotely interested in. Whether it is their short lived sockets, or their shady business dealings, I've never felt the urge to purchase anything from the blue side. Their latest flagship cpu is just another example of how they operate. I'm not saying other companies are not without their issues, but Intel has a long history of abusing their position in the marketplace. That alone has made me use my wallet to help their competition. All corporations are trying to stick it to the consumer the best way they know how, but I had made my mind up long ago, not to purchase any of their cpu's ever again. -

Has anyone tried these thermal paste replacer pads? I've seen a few reviews, and they claim slightly better results over liquid metal?? They are reusable too! Also spotted this little swivel for GPU waterblocks. -

Weren't we just talking about usps being broken? Happened again to me. Apparently they enjoy going in circles 🤣 -

Traditional hard disk drives are still the most economical way to store large files. If you need faster access than that, you will spend $$ of course. You could always stripe a couple together in a Raid 0 array, but redundancy goes out the window. Maybe some 2.5 SSD's? -

That X570 Asrock board I had was rock solid. Same as the 7900xtx I have now. They have come a long way over the last few years. I guess it's the same with any manufacturer, they all have ups and downs. -

I'd like to see MSI develop something along those lines. By the time they do, I'll have moved on from them to AsRock. -

I've had this happen to me before with usps. It's like the pony, in pony express, ate some oats laced with drugs. Or it was some federal worker that didnt quite pass their DEI course. -

I thought it was nice looking also. I am more curious about the thermal paste guard. I guess it's a thermalright, not Thermaltake. -

Ordered a new Bykski block and a thermaltake thermal paste protector. Going to see if I can drop the temps a little more. -

I really hope this doesn't take off, and fails miserably. I've been excited about zen 5 coming soon. 45K leaked stock CB23 multi core on the 8950x. 👊🤙 -

The 5090 may be 50% faster, but at what cost? Knowing ngreedia, there will probably be a 50% mark up from the 4090, or more. $3000 gpu's? -

Oh, I forgot...I too have some macrium backups of Windows 7. Although I do not have the 6800xt any longer. I need to "Papusan" some gpus maybe. 🤣 -

I just installed a modified, (trimmed) version of Windows 11 23H2, and so far is performing better than my ltsc 22H2. I honestly wanted to install 7 without the gpu drivers, but blue screened after the welcome logo. I then remembered what a pain in the behind it is to get it running, so I bagged that idea. I Really hate the Redmond nazis. -

Hwbot probably has a 5 to 1 ratio of Intel to AMD, which also skews results, and there are probably many more top overclockers using Intel to AMD, so IMO, the bot is not an accurate measurement as well. If AMD made a 24 core desktop cpu, it wouldn't even be close. -

I have no idea where you think Intel has the multi threaded crown?? Intel doesn't even make a 16 core 32 thread desktop chip. Intel requires 8 more cores to barely surpass the Ryzen 16 core, and that is only in rendering. https://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/cpu-hierarchy,4312.html -
