  1. Here you go everyone. Newfoundland's own Shannygannock. These guys are AWESOME, singing about our love of the Province we call home. There's more in the pipe after this one...
  2. Just like to add to my previous comment. I should say they are not ready for prime-time with NEW hardware. If you are using a generation old system, you are completely good to go. I have not touched my windows laptop in two days because I am enjoying my little linux laptop so much. Now that I have my CSV file in Brave I have zero MS software running on this system. Once I get my data from one drive and on to a hard drive, I will probably not use WIndows again and move to Linux full time. Zorin OS works for me perfectly. I can still install any software I want, Make it look any way I want and it's good to go.
  3. I think so, it's no point to download any other browser on iPad. They all have to follow webkit coding which blocks ad blockers from properly working. I have noticed the sleep/wake functions are much better on linux than Windows.
  4. I installed Zorin OS on my wife's old dell system. I love it, I am using it more than my windows system really. I wanted some android apps installed on it so I can use it as a tablet as well replacing my iPad. Installed waydroid but it's not accessing the computers wifi or bluetooth, can someone please help get this going for me. I will be able to do everything with this little system then!
  5. I have tested the Garuda OS on the old system and whilte it looks fantastic, I don't get alot of it. Like if I download a app, it does not show up in apps. Where did it go? I need some help configuring it I guess.
  6. I just installed my CSV file into brave to try out. So far so good. I have the dell put on power saver mode for longer battery life to see how long I can get form it using linux and brave instead of Edge. I have heard good things about brave. We will see what I can get out of this for battery life now.
  7. I work part time at a service provider here in Canada. I had 4 iPhones of various versions oldest being xr, newest being the 16 Pro Max all with security issues. Their phones were all compromised where they were sending messages that were hidden from view, making calls in the background and apple Id names with different messages in them. I thought apple were supposed to be the safe and PRIVATE ones. Smoke and mirrors marketing form the rotten fruit.
  8. Completely. Real Edge instead of apple forked edge is a huge difference. Apple having the say of using webkit to develop the browsing apps is the issue. They are really all following the rules apple sets. WIth real edge I have all the ad blockers that work 100 percent of the time. It makes a huge difference.
  9. Can we just stop with the self driving cars already. It's a failure.
  10. I just searched and found that I can play my old original xbox games on my oc using an emulator. Anyone know where I can get a good xbox emulator so i can pop my games in and play them? Or do I go the other way and get HDMI port installed in my OG Xbox and go that route?
  11. I keep coming back to the same thing too. Linux, while great, and fun, is not ready for primetime. Until all component manufacturers take it seriously and provide up to date drivers for it, it will be like peeing against the wind.
  12. Both my wife and I got locked out from our MS accounts because the email we used was no longer active. (never use a service provider email as your main email). We did gain access after 30 days of waiting. We are not the CEO of libre office however. Reasons are why he is not getting back in for sure. But I agree. I am moving our files to our file server as soon as possible.
  13. Back on my Linux 11 inch dell 2 in 1. Well, the iPad experiment was short lived. I need to redo waydroid so it recognises wifi and Bluetooth, once I do that, the ipad is up for sale. This old system with 4gb of ram and intel m3 processor is just more enjoyable to use compared to the iPad. The typing experience and browser is soooo much better on linux and the dell. Mainly what I will be using it for. I won't be doing any photo/video work on this system. I may use it for writing articles for our travel blog and just take the images from our storage and put them up using this. Well i know the ipad is not for me. I almost bought a 13 inch iPad pro to replace my laptop. Phew, that was close ha ha.
  14. That is Microsoft in a nutshell now. Don't trust them at all. I need to get all my stuff off OneDrive Pronto. The password debacle has opened my eyes to how shatty MS is when it comes to coding. Fire all their developers, testers etc for "insiders" and Ai slop. I was really happy until Copilot was cooked into everything and this dumb recall crap.
  15. So, It only took Linux to restore my passwords. I fired up my little linux laptop, turned off wifi, saved my CSV file from edge on it, because it was not updated to the new edge yet. Got them back. PHEW. Oh, and eff MS! If my son never used steam to game on his pc, I would seriously switch everything to Linux. It just shows I need to get everything on onedrive, OFF IT. I have to figure that one out now. hmmmmm.
  16. That won't work for my use case. I am beyond rotted with the crappy software from microsoft. I have an idea, how about you hire back all the dev's you fired for "insider testing" and ditch ai. have real people develop your products.
  17. I have an ad blocker that works on safari now, and I am using safari on iPad now instead of edge. After edge borked all my passwords from my MS account, I am done.
  18. I kept all my site passwords on edge to make it easy to log into the sites I use regularly. So, the other day, my passwords got deleted and now I can’t get them back. EFFING MS. I think this is the last straw and I am moving to Mac for my PC/tablet experience.
  19. After using the iPadOS 26 for a day now I can say that an iPad Pro could probably use one as my main computer. It is so much improved. Ad blocking on YouTube works now in edge, I just have to refresh and the ad goes away. I am fine with that.
  20. It does not work on edge however. And it’s so so on safari. I might just say screw it and go pay premium so I can view ad free on every device.
  21. I just downloaded the iPadOS 26 beta on my 10th gen and it’s AWESOME. Now, I have to figure out ad blocking on safari since I hate ads on youtube. And move my passwords from edge to safari since edge is not working correctly. It was but I screwed with a cookies setting now it’s borked. But the multitasking, pointer, overall operation is much more like macOS now. It’s really good for a beta.
  22. Basic initial use of the iPad is MUCH MUCH improved. I am typing on it right now and it’s actually really good. There are a few visual anomalies, but for the most part it’s good. I will be trying it later for photo and video editing. Who knows. Might switch to MacBook and Mini for my systems. If I keep enjoying it like I am so far.
  23. I am downloading iPadOS 26 right now. I am going to see how it works. I am going to take it on our trip camping as my only editing device. I am going to be putting my photos and videos shot on my Pixel, canon and fuji cameras through it and edit in the evenings and post via our blog site and YouTube. Might work great with the improvements apple made. I do wish they would let ad blockers work correctly though.
