I wouldn't expect much difference in image quality if they're running identical settings. 2080ti isn't pressing the CPU as hard (GPU bottlenecking) vs the 4090 which is giving the CPU much more work to render frames. It is hard to discern fps differences in YT videos but once you actually sit down and play and have those sub 60fps sessions versus high fps gaming (100+) you will feel the difference immediately especially in fast paced games. 24GB is aimed more at prosumers and those who actually need it but it never hurts to have it. 🙂 Plus with the way memory topology works it corrolates to the 384-bit memory bus width. 6 Electrosoft Alpha: SP109 14900KS | Asrock Z790i Lightning | MSI Suprim X Liquid 4090 | AC LF II 420 | TG 2x16GB 8200 | Samsung 990 Pro 2TB | EVGA 1600w P2 | Phanteks Ethroo Pro | Alienware AW3225QF 32" OLED Ellectrosoft Beta: Eurocom X15 Raptor | i9-12900k | Nvidia RTX 3070ti | Samsung 990 2TB | 15.6" 144hz | Wifi 6E Heath: i9-12900k | EVGA CLC 280 | Asus Strix Z690 D4 | Asus Strix 3080 | 32GB DDR4 2x16GB B-Die 4000 | WD Black SN850 512GB | EVGA DG-77 | Samsung G7 32" 144hz 32" My for sale items on eBay. Just to add on the RAM question: you can see that those titles are already pushing 13GB. Those are not really 4090-class productions, basically legacy at this point. VRAM utilisation just 25% higher than this would push it over 16GB. But yeah, obviously not necessary to support the games available today. From gamer's perspective 24GB means healthy future-proofing, for those who don't buy a new $2k graphics card every year. 3 "We're rushing towards a cliff, but the closer we get, the more scenic the views are." -- Max Tegmark AI: Major Emerging Existential Threat To Humanity

It is diabolical, and they are a very evil company. They are in the same league as crApple and Satan, and worthy of damnation. I know it would make things difficult for many people, but I would really love to see crApple and Micro$lop both die and go out of business in 2023. I love Linux. It's limitations are difficult, and the newer your hardware is, the less likely things are going to work correctly. When everything works correctly it is stinking awesome. I would really love to see Linux commercialized for consumers with the sames level of driver development and software support everyone received from the Redmond Retards, minus all of the draconian control freak nonsense. For those interested in Team Red unboxing videos. I don't get why there is a 7900 XT. I am guessing the real story is they are poorly binned 7900 XTX for ~$100 less if you are willing to live with an inferior silicon sample. If I were going to buy one of these I would find the idea of saving $100 (a few pennies per day for a year) and getting an inferior GPU on purpose kind of absurd. 5 Wraith // Z790 Apex | 14900KS | 4090 Suprim X+Byksi Block | 48GB DDR5-8600 | Toughpower GF3 1650W | MO-RA3 360 | Hailea HC-500A || O11D XL EVO Banshee // X870E Carbon | 9950X | 4090 Gaming OC+Alphacool Block | 32GB DDR5-8200 | RM1200x SHIFT | XT45 1080 Nova || Antec C8 Spectre // Z790i Edge | 13900KS | 3090 Ti FTW3 | 32GB DDR5-8200 | RM1000e | EK Nucleus CR360 Direct Die || Prime A21 Half-Breed // Dell Precision 7720 | BGA CPU Filth+MXM Quadro P5000 | 4K Display | Sub-$500 Grade A Refurb | Nothing to Write Home About Mr. Fox YouTube Channel | Mr. Fox @ HWBOT The average response time for a 911 call is 10 minutes. Both of the GPU manufacturers stopped it. With Nvidia it was 472.12 Sep 2021 being last and a 3090Ti exclusive update which is same in 2021 is the last which is Win32 and Win7 supported. Radeon drivers running on Windows 7 I would not advice esp given the fact how AMD optimizes their HW which is damn way old to run newer games better for longer periods and longevity. Bonus is AMD has superior (Open Source Drivers) Linux support and no BS crap like Nvidia. So using AMD on WIn10 / Linux is best. Since Nvidia already relegates optimizations for old Architecture in backseat once new GPUs are out and over the time, It's better to run the old driver on Windows 7 and dual booted 10 for latest games. Plus newer games started to even block Windows 10 LTSC 17763.xxxx a.k.a 1809 itself massive PITA but for me I do not care much about newer titles since they all are garbage most of them at-best 2-3 titles max per year that is also not always. 46 minutes ago, Mr. Fox said: It is diabolical, and they are a very evil company. It is not a lower binned silicon it's a die-cut, as 7900XTX is a full Navi 31 silicon and 7900XT is cut, the MCDs are reduced on the 7900XT, it has less Infinity Cache basically. And lower VRAM + Bus. Plus the Shader cores (CUs) are also cut. I think it should have been called as 7900 not XT. 5 Helios (WIP) i9 10900K // Trident Z Royal C16 4000MHz B-Die 32GB // ASUS Maximus XIII APEX // Noctua DH15 Chromax // RTX3090Ti FE // Alienware 360Hz G-Sync Ultimate IPS FHD // Seasonic Prime TX 1000 Titanium // Fractal Meshify 2XL Ethereal Ranger Alienware 17 R1 // i7 4710MQ // 16GB DDR3L 2133MHz // 980M 860M loaner // Windows 8.

Still rocking 10980XE 18-Core. I will wait for the pricing information - for now very happy with what Raptor Lake can do. Just to state the obvious: the above is not HEDT in the 10980XE sense. 10980XE was something in between consumer and Xeon - much less memory supported, no ECC, and only 1S (to mention the basic differences). 1 "We're rushing towards a cliff, but the closer we get, the more scenic the views are." -- Max Tegmark AI: Major Emerging Existential Threat To Humanity

I did trade it for a MSI Suprim X version and it is far superior to the one I had. 1900+ on memory and no locking up computer. Hi. Yep, not the best memory. I think I max out at 1300. Very fun when you buy the most expensive high end and risk get bin quality lower than the cheapest vanilla 4090's at $1600. Yep very disappointing that the QC - the bin job is done so badly. I'm not even sure they put much work into binning the Gpu. Nice look over everything else. Not sure what I will do forwards. Not much time for testing now but we'll see what I will do. But a very nice card. All I know... If I go back to air cooled card I will save money and time... I don't need to re-do my whole loop. And it will be faster swap out to other cards as well. But whats weird... If I push mem a bit higher the pc/screen freeze. I wondered about this. I haven't had new graphics cards the last years. Is this the normal behaviour when you go slightly too far with mem oc on newer cards? And then you have the new nice rules on the bot. You have to enable ECC in NVCP with 4000 series cards. This put you back around 5-6% in performance (UL/Futuremark let you put whatever setting you want for ECC). And all top spots on the bot have run benches with it disabled and got an advantage from it. It's very easy to forget enable it, then reboot before you do a few fast benches and post it on hwbot. God luck moderate scores. Because more SKUs from 4000 series will have it. Even older 3090Ti had it but if you have this card you don't need to bother with NCCP and reboots. https://hwbot.org/submission/5140652_papusan_gpupi_v3.3___32b_geforce_rtx_4090_58sec_603ms On 12/10/2022 at 10:12 PM, johnksss said: Thinking back, the Zotac does give me the "looks like a cruise ship design" vibe. Easy hear the click from the modern adapter cable when I mount it in the card. If it burn, it wont be my fault, LOOL I installed the 12VHPWR Adapter Cable from be quiet. This time I needed two try to hear the click. And I could barely hear it. Bad design. Not the Be Quiet cable but the connector design. And the hook to secure the connector is a huge Joke. Why make the hook on the 12VHPWR connector so damn small that it barely is able to lock and secure the connector to the GPU? How difficult was it to make the hook on the connector a bit bigger? Even the whole 12VHPWR connector. Could be that the R/D team from PCIE sig, Intel and the rest is former Apple engineers. Those shoud never have such an job. I can clerly see why we have seen the smoke. The design is awful. But only one PCIe cable for the GPU is nice. One thing I don't like with many of the GPUs is the nicely done cut out on top of the back plate. A big chance that condensation water can drip straight into the graphics card if you run the Cpu coold and forgot to protect it. CableMod 12VHPWR Custom Cable Overview overclock3d.net Let's make one thing clear, we don't like Nvidia's 4x 8-pin to 12VHPWR adaptors To put it simply, we at OC3D do not like the 8-pin to 12VHPWR adaptors that most RTX 4090 graphics cards ship with. They feel cheap, and they are not long enough for PC builders to tidily manage their system's cables. Even at launch, we used a direct-to-PSU 12VHPWR cable for our testing, avoiding Nvidia's adaptor entirely. 5 "The Killer" ASUS ROG Z790 Apex Encore | 14900KS | 4090 HOF + 20 other graphics cards | 32GB DDR5 | Be Quiet! Can you return it as defective or get in-store credit for a different GPU? If the memory overclock is that limited on what one would think is their best model, it is defective. They should save the crummy memory chips for the less expensive cards and stop screwing the customers that spend the most. 2 hours ago, Papusan said: One thing I don't like with many of the GPUs is the nicely done cut out on top of the back plate. The stores is flooded with 4080 and 3090. 4090 not much in stock. And yep, the 3090 is equal expensive as 4090 Regarding the cut of on the back plate.... They save on cost both for paint, metal and thermal pads. I really hate it. And the worst part... This modern is here to stay. I didn't think much about it when I saw the cards.. But once I had it in the chassis I could clearly see what can happen. There is a few there out that don't have draining plug or QC fittings. Swap out a water block can be damn expensive if you don't remove the card. Often people have hurry and forget the most important. Yep, I hate it. Stupid design.
