Lets see...All my money back minus the cost of warranty or ebay/offerup/craigslist/facebook market place/forum stores - where the best I can hope for is half at the current market rate then have to pay fees...hummmmm. Yeah I'll pass on that. lol

The warranty is so you pay a bulk price once...then every time after that you pay the upgrade cost. And in some cases there is no cost at all and you get change.

But! You will need to make sure your microcenter operates like that.

Edit: And that can be all my money I paid today back in just under two years time. pretty sure no one is going to pay you 2k for a 2 year old card....

I’m about to buy a $4,699 dollar BGA turdbook, and I’m getting the warranty lol. I think it’s like $500? But, I have to be in store to get the warranty. Worth the near 4 hour drive. I plan to do what you’re doing. I’d rather not throw 50-60% of the $4700 in the trash.

Also, is that the 1 or 2yr accidental damage protection plan they sell?

@johnksss which warranty plan is it?

Ummm, that is a whole lot of explaining about paying more for a card. 😆😆

I did none of that when I bought my Kingpin 3090. The price is what it is when paying for top of the heap cards. And the cheapest one of those cards out here is 3500.00 and the price I quoted was 2500 from tweaktown. So looks like you still got out cheaper.🤣

Side note: I paid just under 9 grand for 4 Titan X's back in the day. And drove to Vegas to pick them up.🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

HeHe. Yep, its what it is. And the deal is quite good compared to what you get in many other countries or what I normally have to pay here home. On level what some of you have to pay for the Strix OC in US without the taxes🙂

What I mostly complain about is the awful 25% tax + the added exchange currency who drive the prices up +30% over what you have to pay in US. Not so sure bro Fox or you would be happy with +2700$ over already disgusting $2,162... Who is already awful vs the 4090FE's  at $1599 MSRP. And this for a Strix OC card, not a K|ngp|n card. Just a vanilla Asus card with the OC branding. Yep bro John, it's what it is🙂 And I accepted it when I paid for it.

4x 4090 Strix OC with taxes here is $10800. Or slightly below the 4 Titan X's you paid back in the day with US prices. Aka $8648 included last years inflation (+7%). That's damn cheap for 4x 4090 cards, LOOL

If Nvidia continue the nice price shrinkage they have done from the Titans X age we will see 4x 5090 Strix OC at $8000 included inflation, HaHa

Btw. Prices for 4000 series cards, especially the 4080 is equal awful as this 7900X3D "gamer" chips... 17:10 - Conclusion

@Mr. Fox

So, I found the issue with the low numbers in 3Dmark Physics and Profile test. It is the Windows power plan that’s causing problems! I put my power mode to balanced and it’s screaming fast!! I know, this doesn’t make sense but I heard this from someone else too. High performance power mode consistently performs poorly.

 I am #9 in the top 100 Profile test of 13900K, I am #5 with 13900KF, and #9 against 13900KS chips.

just getting in the groove here. I haven’t began to get in to condensation territory yet.

I don't think it works like that for laptops. And these warranties vary from store to store. Ohio store is a hell no! Unless there is something wrong with the product, then that store will honor the warranty. Our particular store said they know the game and are cool with it. How do I know? Because I flat out asked the General Manager of our store. And it's still the same business model after they revamped the store with new people. At some point it may change, but as of right now, nope.

We do have a 2 year warranty on my nieces laptop which is up around Christmas of this year so some where near that time I will ask what does our warranty cover if the laptop still works, but it's a repair or replace warranty. And it's BGA. No telling they have the exact same MB at the end of 2 years. That warranty was 300.00.

Those days have been over for the over clocker so no worries about buying 4 at a time anymore. Miners do not count. As I'm not a miner.🙂

Actually you can thank the internet for that. If it didn't exist then you would have no clue what we pay for out here and and vice versa and all would be happy and content.🤣 And if we were use to paying the 2700 price then it would not be any different. We either pay to play or we don't play. And we have our own issues as a country that you don't have to worry about. so there is always that.🙂

I thought he looked familiar in the first picture, but did not know why I thought so. Of course, he is a lot older now, just as we all are. I didn't connect the dots until you posted the additional photos. I have seen and enjoyed the majority of his movies. Very cool that you bought it from Carl. You definitely live in the right place to rub elbows with celebrities.

If the goal is 100% stability, Memtest86 in parallel mode over several hours may not catch everything. I have found Google GSAT effective but again needs to be run over very long periods.

All good suggestions have been made. Memtest86 and Windows Memory Diagnostic work well. I have issues with the native Windows memory tool trying to constantly launch in Windows and showing a system tray icon after running it through a cycle. It's very annoying and sometimes I have to try a few times to get rid of it. I have tried disabling it in Task Scheduler which only works about half the time and I have gone as far as renaming the executable file to stop it.

TM5 is super convenient. I also like using Run Memtest86 Pro from DangWang. Both of these are wonderful because they run within Windows. You can use them for testing live memory timings tweaks without a bunch of time wasting reboots. Once you get the custom settings dialed in, you can reboot once and go into the BIOS to apply them for final testing. There's another one I have that runs in Windows that also works well, but I can't remember the name of it off the top of my head. I'll have to find it and come back and mention it. I haven't used that one in a while. I always forget that I have it until someone posts something mentioning it in a forum and then I'm like 'oh yeah, I have that' LOL.

I have found pretty much all of them work fine for me.

Edit: @Tenoroonthe one I always forget about that works well is https://www.karhusoftware.com/ramtest/ and it runs in Windows.

The caring ends as soon as there is something new to sell. Business runs on money. They too easily forget that money comes from the people that buy the products businesses sell. The problem is they love the money, not the people they get it from. Pretty messed up, but that's the way the ball bounces.

Once in a great while we see an exception to that, and those companies are usually very successful. They operate based on The Golden Rule. They are few and far between, unfortunately.

Pretending it is true it's fairly common though. You can easily spot the liars because actions speak louder than words... ASUS.

Looks like a OG MSI Gaming X! Based on picture quality. That’s probably like a 980Ti maybe?

what kind of Mercedes is that? I always wanted one of the older 2004ish Mercedes AMG models with that supercharger and 550hp. Such great cars.

Not sure, I think 1080 or 1080 Ti's.

That one is an S550. The one I had before was a S430. I looked at a few S63's and S600's but they all had engine and transmission issues, but the owners saying they run great!🤦‍♂️ Dealer level scanners do not lie and people were asking me what it says. I'm like it says...275.00 dollars and I tell you other wise, have a great day and walk off.

The S63 from that (2003-2006) era is 496 HP and if you make a pully change then it shoots up to 540+ give or take a few HP.

he caring ends as soon as there is something new to sell.

ASUS.

As I said... Pascal and Turing is probably the next cards on the castrating list. Why not just get rid of the small amount extra voltage you can add with the different AIB OC tuning software? I expect this feature is only meant to lure you into thinking their new and shiny is fantastic overclocker's. Once the card is a  few years old... We must get rid of features that prolong the products lifespan. One word for this... DISGUSTING!

Andddd it's off! I am curious to see what Mr. Fox does with AMD on the GPU side of things. On one hand, it is a new experience and the chance to gain some points. On the other hand, I suspect his visit with AMD to be short-lived, hahaha. Mr. Fox, my advice is that dialing back the voltage aka undervolting on AMD GPU's will help you in certain benchmarks.

One last thing, I don't remember using MPT and Red BIOS Editor on the Asrock 6900XT, only on my MSI 6800XT. I don't think I did it because I wanted to wait until I blocked it and as you will see, I never did block it.

Yup. That seems like not long ago but it actually was longer than it seems. It was 5 years ago and they were 1080 Ti. I know this because my only 1080 Ti SLI benchmarks were run that day.

It will be fun to see what I can do with it. I haven't used those tools before. They did not exist as far as I know the last time I owned a Red GPU, so I will need to grab them and figure it out. Thanks, Brother @Rage Set.

Bro @Mr. Fox @johnksss

Is the problem Win 11 or do I miss something? Enable Rbar - Feature in Nvidia Profile Inspector. But there is two other options in there as  rBar Options and rBar Size limit. I haven't added any values there. I haven't had new modern so I need to learn it on new again. In short is Enable rBar enough or do you have to change other rBar settings in NIP ?

The boost and memory clocks looks good, the boost clocks start at 3120 and run at that speed the first 20 sec before it settle down to 3106 the whole benchmark, but the result doesn't look very good. The clocks stay nice and steady where they should be. The clocks should normally be enough to push me well above 28000 in Port Royal.

Btw. It looks fun fiddling with new and shiny from AMD...

An ultra-rare Radeon driver bug is breaking PCs. This exotic fix revived mine

An extremely unusual Radeon driver bug can badly break Windows, but AMD is on it.
