Absolutely 100% not. I don't overclock my 13th or 14th gen chips. They run so stupid fast out of box, I'm not CPU bottlenecked at 4K, and the gains are kinda meh. I just undervolt all of my chips and run the memory OC. I haven't bothered overclocking any of my 14900Ks which is kinda sad. Hopefully Arrow Lake will have some amazing OC again. Strangely, the used prices for 30 series are climbing (or more likely, sellers think their cards are worth more). I am sitting on Gamestop.com for a 4090. They are the last of the stores that have not artificially raised their MSRP prices. They have the MSI GeForce RTX 4090 SUPRIM X for $1700, but they usually sell out pretty quickly for online shipping. The bad news for AMD cards like the 7900 XTX, they are still selling for the MSRP of $1100. 2 2 1 A Change Is Gonna Come
Mr. Fox
Well, I finally got the kit. UPS had some kind of service issue and it took 8 days when it normally takes 2 days. Easily handles 8400 with very tight timings and only 1.510V. No doubt it will handle 8600, maybe more. I ended up only shelling out $117 for it because I had a NewEgg gift card from them giving me a price match on the Gigabyte 4090. This is really a huge improvement over the garbage 32GB XTREEM 8000 A-die kit that I RMA'd some months ago. I don't have them on water yet. TeamGroup brags about the stock heatsinks, and I they are just a little better than the worthless heating blankets the others have, but I am not overly impressed with the temperatures. They are very heavy. They weigh close to as much as the G.SKILL sticks with the waterblocks on them. But, they still hit about 45°C in TM5. Really solid performance though. tps3443
Anyone know what’s wrong with Cyberpunk 2077? Trying to use Frame Gen and my GPU usage is horrible. 50-70% range with 4K and DLSS Quality. Losing lots of frames here. I also have to run my windows power plan on balanced mode, or else it skips really badly on High performance or Ultimate power plan it is literally unplayable. I don’t remember this game running so poorly, I have not really played it in a few years though. Many updates have happen since I use to actually play it. But it runs like crap. Running on a fresh OS windows 11, new GPU drivers as well. It just can’t hold my GPU usage up at all. Seems like a bug or glitch for sure? Another thing is, I cannot enable or disable Vsync in game, I feel like the OG Cyberpunk from 2020 ran far better than this. 13900KF

It's a bug with Cyberpunk (thought they fixed it, guess not?) when using Ray Reconstruction. It causes GPU usage to go from 100% and slowly drop off. If you turn off RR, the GPU usage will shoot back up to 100% and will run smooth. Hopefully they get this fixed soon, I thought I read they did in a recent patch. 1 1 Spoiler The Beast Asus Z790 APEX | Intel i9 13900K | ASUS RTX 4090 Strix OC | 64gb DDR5 7466 CL34 Dual Rank A-Dies | Samsung 990 Pro 2TB | Innocn 4K 160Hz Mini LED HDR1000 | LG 27GN950-B 4K 160Hz | Corsair 170i Elite LCD 420mm AIO | Corsair 7000D | EVGA 1600w T2 Little Beast EVGA Z690 DARK | Intel i9 13900K | Nvidia RTX 4090 FE | 32gb DDR5 SK Hynix DDR5 8000 CL36 A-Dies | Samsung 980 Pro 2TB | LG OLED C1 4K 120Hz G-Sync/FreeSync | Alienware AW2721D 1440p 240Hz G-Sync Ultimate | Corsair 115i Elite 280mm AIO | Lian Li 011 Dynamic | EVGA 1000w P6

Ya on average it looks to be around 18-20% faster than the 3080 with some outliers, but the 3080 consumes about 50% more power for that deficit. Both can be undervolted and overclocked so that becomes a wash IMO. Unless you need the VRAM, can sell the 3080, or just want that cool room, it's just not worth it. Though the 4070S FE is one sexy little beast. Mine is a complete banshee and it's memory OC is incredible. Edit: The one additional catch is the lack of proper frame gen support on the 30 series as well. That isn't nothing when you consider single player games IMO. Although now you can use the DLLS FG to FSR3 mod, and still use DLSS as the upscaler! Which is a complete win for 30 series and extends the life of the card. Also proves Nvidia is a shithead and could provide a frame gen product for sub 40 series. 1 3 1 Spoiler The Beast Asus Z790 APEX | Intel i9 13900K | ASUS RTX 4090 Strix OC | 64gb DDR5 7466 CL34 Dual Rank A-Dies | Samsung 990 Pro 2TB | Innocn 4K 160Hz Mini LED HDR1000 | LG 27GN950-B 4K 160Hz | Corsair 170i Elite LCD 420mm AIO | Corsair 7000D | EVGA 1600w T2 Little Beast EVGA Z690 DARK | Intel i9 13900K | Nvidia RTX 4090 FE | 32gb DDR5 SK Hynix DDR5 8000 CL36 A-Dies | Samsung 980 Pro 2TB | LG OLED C1 4K 120Hz G-Sync/FreeSync | Alienware AW2721D 1440p 240Hz G-Sync Ultimate | Corsair 115i Elite 280mm AIO | Lian Li 011 Dynamic | EVGA 1000w P6

Yes, while he may have a odd voice naturally, I think perhaps part of it is to be funny. Although his voice doesn't suggest it, he actually has a very good sense of humor. I love dry sarcasm. He tries to act so serious, even when he is not. I have watched most of his videos and there have been a few times where it seemed like he was having to try extra hard not to break into a belly laugh. I do not know it for certain, but I suspect even the name of his YouTube channel is intended as dry humor, along with the fairly ghetto projects he takes on. electrosoft
3 hours ago, Talon said: Ya that is 100% not worth. Just a tiny upgrade for such an investment. Turn on the AC instead lol. Later this year we will see the real upgrade for her. 5070 with 16gb and 4090 "perf" with DLSS Time Travel™️. Nvidia making tomorrow's frames, yesterday's news. I could always give her my MSI 4090 and snag a 5090 when they drop. She uses my old EVGA DG-77 case and the Suprim 4090 is probably one of only 2-3 4090's that would fit in there. For 1440p I could then turn on ALL the eye candy + RT and the 4090 would be bored a bit capped to 144fps everywhere. She'd have a 280mm AIO in the front and a 240mm AIO up top. ryan
been overclocking my ryzen 7 5825u by increasing TDP with ryzen controller. you know your a die hard when your overclocking thin and light trying to squeeze out 2 fps more in minesweeper. its got a vega 8 and can run all the light games like gta 5 at 2880 x 1800 with high settings albeit at 30fps. but for the heavy lifting I use a 4080 included with the ge force now premium subscription. I honestly dont move around much with my laptops and have reasonable internet and geforce now after a few updates and tweaks looks native on a 14in-15in display. things get ugly at 4k on a tv though you have to sit back 40 feet and shes golden. 5090 is going to be exciting, I wonder if we will see 240hz 4k tvs this/next year I know a few are 144hz now but it would be nice to see some advancement in tech besides graphics cards and cpus. Microslop needs to get its priorites together and allow the OS to actually benefit from gen 5 ssds. I mean with 10 000 mbs things should be rather fast especially when latency needs to be measured using quantum mechanics. if the 5090 ends up being like say 50 percent faster than the 4090 im going to jump aboard and just keep it for 5 years to justify the cost for the games I play(2015-1999). as for cpus seeing your guys benchmarks its sobering knowing that my 12k vs your 50k is something to rethink the whole laptop life. hard to pull the trigger, if only prices were like half what they are. reason I ended up with a laptop again was because of geforce now and my lack of actually gaming much in titles like baldurs gate 3 or hogwarts, the appeal for these kiddos esque games just leaves a sour taste. TLDR: 5090 hopefully is 50 percent faster than the 4090 2 2 ZEUS-COMING SOON Omen 16 2021 Zenbook 14 oled Vivobook 15x oled

ryan
I was thinking the same thing, Like I want a 4090 but it has a 4090 price tag, no bargain...you get more but pay more, if you want a beast and the highest performance its clear the 7900xtx is no match but your paying more. ngreedia is treating gpus like automobiles now. no such thing as fair trade anymore not like anything has changed, I was thrown back about the video I stumbled across that shows how much profits these companies are making on things like iphones ect. to make a iphone all costs in on average is 10 bucks. so are they trying to double the income and these smaller companies are they less greedy. they are selling a 10 dollar cookie for 1500 and people are buying them like they were touched by mary poppins 5 ZEUS-COMING SOON Omen 16 2021 Zenbook 14 oled Vivobook 15x oled
Reciever
So I got that tower M.2 heatsink installed in my PC on an Acer GM7000 2TB PCIE4 drive (that I have my OS on). Acer doesnt make it in-house, its one of those OEM supplied but branded Acer products, BINIX iirc? Im not running anything particularly intensive (at all) but I just had to have it on. Thus far havent seen temps above 32c Now I want to get the Sonnet 4x10Gbps USB C pcie adapter or perhaps the GV-Titan TB3 card from Gigabyte. That might actually be better since it would be actively powered by the PSU. Wont be until next month or so. 3 1 Telegram / TS3 / Twitter 2700X to 5800X3D upgrade! With a 10850K cameo!
