You can always get a refund on S&H. It just can take a bit if that is about the $107.

Yeah, plus this just showed up too. 😭😭😭

PS: That’s my CPU boxed up ready to go. But now I’m thinking not.

Imagine how you'd feel if there was just a shipping confirmation on the left... Even if there was just a 10% chance of something going wrong, would you be happy with that? 10% sounds quite conservative now. A very minor lesson learned, moving on.

Yeah he’s in with Asus, and bios testing and stuff like that. Extremely busy is all.

Sounds good, glad he is fully engaged. It wasnt that long ago it looked as though he was in a very dark period of his life.

I definitely trust Falkentyne. He's a straight shooter to a fault in all the good ways. I'm not saying CENS wouldn't be on the up and up but I'd pass or do F&F and want the motherboard before I ship anything out in light up that update. Worse case scenario? You keep a fantastic CPU specimen. It's a great chip. Enjoy it!

Yeah he seems to be doing some really cool stuff. Testing hardware and bios. I know he had a 13900KF QS sample long before any of us. I guess he gets Asus engineering sample motherboards too. He knows this engineer at Intel and he can give you your VID tables from just the batch number. Intel recorded all of the VID’s to the batch numbers. Pretty crazy.

Very close save. What I don't get, if this guy CENS is scamming others, why is he still active on that forum? If you are a known overclocker/scammer, wouldn't that make the rounds?

I don't want anyone thinking I don't believe Falkentyne, but it is a bit interesting that EVGA has a guy on their OC team that is a scam artist.

You know what’s crazy. Falkentyne is all go team Asus. And Cens is team EVGA. Makes me wonder. Someone even joked about that in the forums and I quote them here. “Damn Falk you really don’t want EVGA to win this one do you” they have since edited the post and removed that. Apparently Kingpin and Luumi both will vouch for this CENS guy. So I don’t know….I already refunded him either way.

Also, the person he apparently scammed they said he baits and switches the CPU’s out, apparently his samples are claimed as really amazing and promised to run this and run at that, and the person gets an actual turd of a CPU once they receive it. I have no

idea whats going on. And now I feel like I’ve been fooled by everyone LOL.

So the actual "evidence" is of a reverse situation: C... selling rather than buying a CPU.

I would say if want to get to the bottom of this and it is indeed EVGA-related business, contact them for verification/clarification.

Hummm, now that does make the post a bit more interesting.... As I definitely talked to and even gotten my first modded kingpin card from Vince. Was also part of Team Pure for quite a few years before joining Team Premamod. Never got any thing in the way of bad from Vince. So I would have to see that co-sign first.

Well, the 2080 Ti is repaired and will be on its way back to me tomorrow. The gentleman from Northwest Repair (Tony) is a standup dude. The one Samsung chip that MATS testing identified as bad was the only thing wrong with it. He had a new one in stock to replace it. Price was very reasonable, and I gave him a little extra because it is worth it to me to reward him for his talent. He recorded the repair. I hope he uploads a video of it.

Dell is out with the rehashed AW fryer-box. I wonder how they managed to avoid the NVIDIA bend-gate in this chassis. Maybe they have created an new PROPRIETARY Custom small sized 4090 Gpu, cable and connector. That’s actually a really nice looking alien ware. I love the styling. But yeah it’s probably not all that great. I imagine super expensive. But it’s still very NICE. Even if it runs hot lol.

@Mr. Fox

Did you install your Rockitcool copper IHS yet with the contact frame? When you install it can you check the corners of the IHS? It looks like some corners are nearly flush while other poke up more. It’s kinda weird and makes it seem like it may be uneven. I’m curious to see how yours is. It’s almost like the IHS corners are not even though.

Let me know thanks.

LOL... I was LITERALLY logging in here to warn you. The Rockitcool IHS does NOT fit the contact frame. The wings on the side are different dimensionally than the stock IHS. I took the bare die frame and bare Rockitcool IHS and put them together and it rocks back and forth on opposite corners. Looking at the underside, it appears that if you sanded down the tips of the wings about 0.25-0.05mm each  it would fit the same as stock and be fine. I will probably check that out tomorrow after work or this weekend. I ordered another Thermalright frame on Amazon that should be here tomorrow as well. The good news is the top of the IHS does fit inside of the opening the same as stock.

I initially thought something was wrong with the IHS. I checked it on glass to confirm it was perfectly flat on the CPU PCB side, then after that is when I dug deeper and saw the wings were overlapping the edges where the frame is cut out for them to rest. If my theory is correct it will be super easy to correct with a bit of light sanding and a few minutes of elbow grease.

Just to be certain, I plan to relid the CPU and test the fit a final time after sanding the wings down, because it could damage the CPU or the socket if you cinched it down without things fitting correctly. If it doesn't fit right I will use the stock ILM or go back to the stock IHS.

Edit: What I need to investigate further is whether the side wings are thicker z-height than stock. If they are, then it is not going to work under any circumstances with the CPU frame. At least I am not willing to risk damage finding out.

Interesting, glad you found that! I have mine installed and running great! I’ve removed it and remounted again. Using LM on the die, LM on the IHS, and LM between the block and IHS. It runs veryyyy cool!!! Very cool. Especially with the chiller. I’ll remove it again tomorrow to check the wings and make sure mine clear it okay. But right now it’s running really well so far.

It will either take photos or video when I investigate it further so you can take yours apart and do it right. With it not fitting right, you might be bending the CPU the same as the stock ILM, or worse. Hopefully, it will work correctly with a tiny bit of sanding on the wing tips.

I may have to do some measuring with my digital calipers because the Rockitcool IHS and stock IHS look exactly the same eyeballing them.
