Cheers from California everyone! It's a lot different from Tennessee, but pretty nice, I'm not used to seeing mountains everywhere I look.

I brought my G14 with me on this trip as I didn't want to deal with the P870 on the plane. This is the most I have really used this thing ever, but I've come to realize how annoying and broken Armory Crate is. Is there any alternative that can be used to control fan speeds for ASUS motherboards? I hate this software with a burning passion, but I have to use it to control fan speed the way I want to. I've looked and looked for alternatives, but can't find anything, and I know I'm not the only one who feels this way.

On a side note, here are some pictures I have taken. I'm not too happy with them due to the horrendous lighting, but I look forward to getting some nicer ones as I make my through Monterey.

His rants are some of my favorite. I love his style of mocking trash in a level-headed way. And, he is usually correct. It's nice to see someone of Steve's stature on YouTube openly calling Armory Crate malware. I have always said that. Because it is. Based on how it functions, it is malware. The sheeple that gobble up this rubbish are brainwashed imbeciles. The brainwashing includes the idiotic and nonsensical branding propaganda plastered on the overpriced parts they buy.

image.png.263976a13a60807ff4eb1c2910bfc5aa.png

Jufes, the socially retarded potty-mouth a-hole, has a crude new rant that I totally agree with; ripping AMD a new one for their newest broken doggy poop CPU that Linus finally dared to call out for being a piece of trash. I also like his calling out Mr. Shill himself, Gordon My Dung, for pretending it isn't because he is a heiney-kissing fake reviewer. Linus deserves credit for being honest and calling it garbage and Jufes gives him credit for it between his episodes of self-aggrandizing back-pats and told-ya-sos.

If they have removed some of the modern garbage bling bling they prefer put all over the board (they use it to attract the kiddos), they could retract the the awful price increase and put prices to before the inflation started raise. And stop put the blame on more expensive manufacturing of vital components as signaling. Greed in combination with stupidity is a main driving factor for where we are today. Remove that fancy aRGB trash + malware software, then focus on quality, useful features and put the prices where they should be. We see the same also happen for etc AIOs. More fancy trash added to the product to push up the prices.

Unhinged Rant About Motherboards...

11:20 - The Wrong Features -  Gamers Nexus

13:02 - ASUS MALWARE TANGENT RANT - Gamers Nexus

Edit. I checked different boards for a normal price for my son. Almost none of the boards had debug-code display. Almost all MB costed double the price vs what I and him wanted to pay. So in the end I bougt the Gigabyte Z690 AORUS PRO. 50% of what I had to pay for a Asus board with same features. The damn bling bling push the cost minimum 30% over what it has to cost.

The biggest slap in the face is early BIOS revisions for my Z690 D4 once you set the RGB for the motherboard it was set and you could uninstall Armory Crate and/or do a clean install and it stayed fix. Even if it lost mains, the cmos battery kept the settings.

Now?

With a BIOS update and all subsequent BIOS updates, now it never stays set and requires software to set it each and every time. This is targeted and malicious.

Luckily OpenRGB will set it so I use that to set the color on boot. Armory Crate will never touch this system.

Same problem with the Strix G18. Any meaningful RGB settings require Armory Crate which is just malware trash for Asus to monetize.

Their slogan is quite spot on.... Armoury-Crate | US | For Those Who Dare - ROG - ASUS

ASUS Armory Crate, the worst software in the industry

If I remember correctly... The settings for Armoury-Crate in bios is toggled to Enabled after very single bios flash. This is just Stupid.

Then you have this. Not sure if Asus still do it the same way. I have never checked. So once again, darn stupid. I would never ever install bloat to get free "paid by Asus" software. Aida64 is a nice software. But I rather pay for it than have to install bloatware to get it.

😝I literally just installed it, LOL. Haven't performed my UI customization yet, other than switching from drywall vomit light to tolerable dark. 🤣

But, it has StartAllBack integrated, so that was already done.

I haven't even launched ESO yet and already only 60 processes.

Yeah, I really want it though! It’s a 2022 model with great memory overclocking and it’d be primarily for just cpu SP/VID checking.

I PM’d the seller yesterday, no response.

Question on RAM...

Will DDR5 5600Mhz CL40 make a nice difference over 4800Mhz CL40 on 13th gen?

Looking at timespy/fire strike cpu score, cinebench r23, etc.

I mean I already ordered the RAM LOL just was curious

BTW how is everyone getting windows 7 working on 13th gen? Is it just turning on CSM? I would assume drivers aren't easily available.

I should have quoted this post.

Installed a totally gutted version of the Cancer OS to see if it benches better. No Defender (except firewall), no Windows Security components, no Windows Update. So far, no nonsense.

Bykski block should be delivered tomorrow for the 4090 Suprim.

Unfortunately some of the cpu cores are overheating so the score is still low. Need to repaste with something like ptm7950 to fix the core differentials of 10c.

That might be a tough one to crack. Even under my SS I think there is still close to a 10C difference between cores.

Isn't it 1 P-core that often run colder than rest of the P-cores? On the new modern AW I see all with boiling temps have one with at least 10C above the rest. But I don't remember if there is the same core that have this on the few I have seen.

Here's the 18 inch modern slim beauty from Dell..... Final conclution from 1:02.20 - Reset bios back to factory settings and send it back to Dell Alienware, LOOL

Why He needed near 2 hours for a simple review, I don't know.

Yes, I do believe you are correct. I'll take a closer look next time I fire it up.

Edit:

I think SSJ92 needs to go show him a thing or 2 as his seems to be way more than that guys attempt.

Just reordered the tried and true Z690 board at 40% discount from Amazon. Pretty much the same performance and features as the Z790 model when it comes to handling 4 2R SODiMM config, and zero risk of compatibility issues with the newer chipset. Heavily discounted means £400 lol Thanks for all the inflation Vlad BTW.

Will then get a chance to get in touch with MSI support about the socket replacement. Will get a chance to see what @Mr. Fox has been raving about lol

The cards with the weaker power delivery have much higher power spikes. They just can't handle the higher power equal good. Flashed from 450W to the 500W vbios from the OC verion of Palit 4090 Gamerock carand the power reached spikes above 660W. Yep, sometimes ou get what you pay for. Cheaper come at a price. Even worse cost cutting than the FE model from Nvidia.

And Buildziod have a breakdown on the more expensive OC verion of Palit 4090 Gamerock card. In short a horrible 4090 graphics card.

Gizmo tech reviews tend to be shallow. I think the odd time he's ok. But I would never reference his reviews as it takes him hours to express his thoughts. Kinda like a bird discussion on gravity.

I'm strongly thinking of buying a desktop as I was hunting for a 4090 laptop and found the price was not worth the gains. I really think we are in a rut video game wise, very few good games are being released and when a AAA game does get released it's just like the industry is sprinkling 1 good game out of a desert 🏜️ of bad games. Really sad times for the younger generation.

Oprekin.com in the "private builds" thread. Even Windows setup has a lot of the idiot option screens scripted into oblivion. Select keyboard, input username and password, and done. Roughly half as much worthless garbage processes running on a clean install before any tweaks... even less than Windows 7. Certainly not as good as Windows 7, but the best wPrime 32M score I have ever seen on Windoze 8/10/11.

I was being facetious about the color thing. My favorite colors are black and white, with chrome accents, but those are not colors, so I digress.

That new zombie shooter game that came with my 4090 is supposed to drop on Saturday. Don't remember the name of it. I can't tell from the trailers if I am going to like it, but it is open world so that alone is worth two demerits before you pass go. Based on my preferences, good games are very rare. I think some of the most popular releases suck. Having to temporarily install GeFarts Experience to redeem the code sucked. That cancer feces added about 1,200 registry keys and a couple dozen unnecessary processes. Revo Uninstaller is your feiend.

Yeah, we're right in the middle of sad times for computer tech and gaming. Lots of worthless trash out there.

You will gain far more over clocking the "Baby Cores" or E-Cores rather than memory over clocking.

It really does a lot to raise the all-core average clock speed, and I have never seen mine get that hot. They seem to run cooler than the P-cores.
