@Mr. Fox I’d test both 14900K’s and settle for whichever can produce about 1.300-1.320V under load stock at 6Ghz. Because once you pop the IHS and run direct die it’ll take off another 0.040-0.050 more under load putting you at or below 1.270V equivalent to your KS. I do not think the Bios VFcurves are comparable between 13900KS and 14900K. So I wouldn’t go by that too much. I do think SP97+ is pretty dang good though. Many of these lower SP chips are on direct die 6Ghz+ doing 1.243V-1.260V load. So I think you will be surprised. Also, check the E-Cores and ring as well. Both on 14th gen are pretty amazing. Unless it’s a complete dud chip lol. -

So the power usage is wrong. That makes sense now. I was wondering like what in the world man. You’re gonna weld the Direct die to the die. 😂 -

Didnt you just post a run the other day at 6Ghz pulling sub 400 watts? That 550 seems inaccurate. Maybe I’m crazy lol. That seems like a lot of power though. -

Yeah I’m running chilled water for sure. But it’s not that cold. I stick to 15C daily, and 15C in the runs below. But the chip isn’t delidded so it still gets very hot. If it was direct die I’d be whooping on my old 13900KS which I can’t lol. That chip could do 6.1P/4.8 simply because it had the thermal headroom being direct die, lapped die, and 15C water. I already touch 80C temps at only 350 watts. So, my cooling isn’t that good. The block and contact is actually pretty poor I think. Simply because It’s a stock chip with stock Intel soldered IHS so temps aren’t good like DD+Chiller. These are old runs on my last OS. uploading pictures -

No, I hit like 350 watts for 6.0P/4.8E/5.2R manual voltage R23. It hits about 45,200. The 600 watts is really astounding. -

You mean with auto voltage right? -

I am not delidded or direct die though so even with my 15C water temp, it should perform similarly to a direct die ambient 29c water chip no? Where you gain in direct die, I make up for in soldered stock chip with cooler water. That power is crazy!!! 😀 I’m not understanding why it’s so high. -

Aren’t you on direct die? -

You’re sending an actual 1.380V to your chip load? Holy bajesus. I can’t run that lol. I would melt. What’s your water temp? Also, the chiller doesn’t knock off that much. Even if my water temp doubled and were 30C, I’d only be 15C warmer in temps package. -

For 5.9P/4.5E? That’s a so much power wow. Seems really high. -

That’s not the standard OCCT test though. I may as well go run Prime 95 Small FFT’s AVX2. Is this what the test is on the 14900KS? Last time I ran OCCT default CPU test, it was similar power as R23. It’s the extras that can be enabled which cause much much higher power consumption. -

Nahhh I’m too lazy for all that. My 8400c36 profile is stable right now, and I don’t wanna deal with re-stabilizing it after clearing bios. -

I do not have OCCT. But I did run R23 with auto voltage while mirroring the 14900KS clocks. I set 5.9P (8) cores 6.2P (2) Cores, 4.5E-Cores, Auto ring, and Auto voltage, no power limits. Looks like 328 watts with DDR5 8400C36. Either their cooling is absolutely horrible, their chip is a turd, or their motherboard is going crazy on auto voltage (Probably combination of all three lol). But either way the Vmin does not look great for the 5.485Ghz@1.180V min the 14900KS chip was hitting. I think I am all set for LGA1700 though. I am about burned out on this socket lol. Enough is enough EDIT: MSI SHIPPED MY ORDER Today at 5PM!!!! Awesome! -

@Papusan You know what test they ran to achieve 410 watts at 5.9P/4.5E? The power draw seems extreme compared to what my CPU draws. -120 watts with same clocks lol -

This is what I’m most excited about below. The 4080 Non-Super Suprim-X review shows some amazing cooling performance. This is what an extra $150 or extra $200 should be providing at a minimum for any AIB card. It even outperforms the Strix OC which offers some good cooling performance. -

I remember that. Definitely not a good look for MSI. All I can say is at least the product is good. They are sold out now. -

I checked very very early this morning like 2-3AM, and there was no stock at all. So they are clearly not sending out the in-stock emails. @Papusan 4080 Super Suprim X still in-stock, I don’t think they alerted anyone. I think someone’s best bet is just checking the site 2-3 times per day. MSI clearly doesn’t care who buys them lol. They probably sell them to Newegg, and Newegg or other scalpers mark them up 🤣 don’t alert the customers who actually need the the product. -

The MSI store has them for $1599 and $1689 I’d be checking that daily for stock. Probably much better chance than the Nvidia website. -

Im certain no one knows they are in-stock yet either. I created an account and signed up for in-stock notifications yesterday. They still haven’t informed me. Easily the best 4080S I think. I’d rather have this than a Strix OC model anyways. I’m so glad I got one! I wanted one of these originally and they were sold out on Newegg, and I have been wanting one ever since. -

I GOT ONE!!!! And it’s the one I really really wanted too. I literally just randomly checked MSI Store and they had the RTX4080 Super Suprim-X in stock! 😃😃😃 Yay! I also checked here late last night, and they were all out of stock. I signed up for email alerts, and they didn’t email me (Thanks MSI) lol. I sure am glad I decided to randomly check again. I almost could not believe it when I saw it. People are snatching these hard, and trying to scalp them even harder. -

Well, it looks like the old RTX4080 is about the same price as the 4080 SUPER. I am open to saving tons of money though. Have you seen one for a good deal? The 4080 Super FE is only $1,000 from Bestbuy, which is what I am after I am just waiting on a re-stock. I am checking on the old 4080's and they are more expensive retail, and on Ebay they are priced similarly to a 4080 Super. I am really not open to losing 3% performance. But I guess if I was spending $800-900, I may re-consider losing 3% performance. They just got the 4080 Super Gaming OC in stock on Bestbuy and I could have bought one. But they changed the PCB design and they have zero waterblock support at all. So, I am really just waiting for the right one to come along. -

If anyone sees any 4080 Supers GPU’s in stock please let me know! I’m ready to grab another, but they are all being scalped and all are out of stock. It’s really crazy that used 4090 prices are down on eBay, while new 4080 Super prices are driving upwards. Anyways, I need to buy a new one before I can send back my old one. If you all see any let me know. 😃 I am looking for: 4080S Aorus Master 4080S Suprim-X 4080S Strix OC 4080S Strix White OC 4080S Aero OC White 4080S ZOTAC Airo OC I’d take either of these models. -

That 4090 Gaming OC looks amazing. I like how thick the cooler is on that model. I also like how the heat sink looks it is very clean/exposed the whole length of the GPU. It looks awesome. How is the IMC? Have you tried tightening the timings some? The 13900KS IMC’s are better on average I think than 14th gen, so I bet you could probably run a really nice 8600c38-50-50-50 no problem. Also, are you running different diameter tubes on the ek manifold or am I seeing things? -

I think delid and direct die offers a larger improvement than a stock soldered chip on a chiller. Having both is definitely ideal though lol. Looking good though man! I haven’t delidded mine yet.
