  1. People are really dumb @Mr. Fox I remember when the 11900K came out, still the largest IPC increase we ever saw with Intel to this day probably, and everyone trashed on the chip. Even though it delivered like 95% performance of 10/20 cores from the 10900K, while only using 8/16 cores in the 11900K. In games the 11900K was a real performer. These chips were very cool! I understand not everyone needed to upgrade, 10900K was already great. Since when is upgrading actually practical anyways though. If we own current gen, and next gen comes out, none of us “Need” to do it, it’s always a want. But it was just hated on so much. I mean, think about how stupid the 14900K is lol. Or even the 14900KS. The 13900K already does what either can do, and it was released almost 2 years ago. And here we all are just eating them up like sweet cakes. The thing is, the 11th Gen Intel was 20% faster IPC over 10th gen. It was almost like, since the 11th gen did not deliver some devastatingly powerful multithreaded blow to the 10900K, and since it had less threads, the chip was immediately no good and was marked DOA, and since everyone in the YouTube channel reviews said it was "NO GOOD" it was for sure "NO GOOD" The only thing good about it were the actual product reviews on Newegg and Amazon. So, this does lead to a "What the hell is actually is good scenario? and who is actually being honest here?" Everyone today only talks about IPC gains, and FPS gains, and gaming performance gains. But the Intel 11th Gen died and went down for being a waste of sand LITERALLY lol. How silly right? Another thing everyone talks about with Gaming rigs is the 7800X3D or Intel 14900KS. All of the AMD Fans will say the 7800X3D is the superior gaming chip. However, we all know the 14900KS will mop the floor with it in any real workloads lol. But no one seems to mention this.. 7800X3D gets a pass in that area. The 14900KS can more than double the 7800X3D's Cinebench score, but since the 14900KS uses double the power as well, it's just not acceptable whatsoever haha. I realize this makes no sense lol. With all of that ^ being said, I have learned that: One weakness is acceptable one minute, and another positive is looked right over the next minute, or vice versa. These reviewers determine if something is worthy regardless of what it may actually be. Whatever one person says, the other probably goes along with. I can see Intel 15th gen already. It has faster IPC, less threads than 14th gen, slightly slower or similar multithreaded performance to that of a 14900KS, (WAIT! This sounds familiar), but it will most likely be a "TOTAL WIN" It all depends on what reviewers say. They determine its fate lol. The only way to know if something is actually any good is to go and buy it, then we see if it’s good for our self lol. If it’s bad we just return it. We always do what we want anyways.
  2. These 14th gen KS chips have some super ring/caches on them for sure. Look at this 5.3Ghz ring, which doesn't even phase the vmin or power consumption. For a chip that is not delidded. This is absolutely fascinating! 5.9P/4.5E/4.5R-5.0R “Auto”DDR5 8600@ 308 watts. 5.9P.4.5E/5.3R DDR5 8600 @ 323 watts. This CPU amazes me with the IMC and ring capability. You can run 5.4 and 5.5 ring, and only then does it begin to push vmin a little. But, if you want to stabilize 4.9E with auto voltage, just pop your ring to 5.4Ghz 🤣 Then it adds just a wee bit more juice which makes 4.9E a reality, and a stable one. 14900KS is a beast, with lots of OC potential.
  3. What about these boutique XOC thermalpaste like KPx or Kryonaut Extreme maybe TFX? How does PTM7958 compare to these? I always notice large changes when swapping to a different paste.
  4. Those voltages on these chips are kinda like a rubber band almost. We may let off the gas, and the voltage climbs to assist with the 6.2Ghz boost, or increasing ring under lite loads, if you’re hitting a 100% load the voltage drops drastically. This game looks like it doesn’t use much CPU, so It makes me think the voltages would be a little higher just because it’s a very light load. And this is the case even if we have all cores fixed to 5.9Ghz. If the voltage didn’t do this, the moment the load is reduced or per core tries to flicker a core to 6.2, or bounce the ring to 5.0Ghz, the cpu would crash. So it’s probably normal seeing high voltage in this game. Your 4090 is really good man. I wish mine did that. Yes I have my own designated office in the new house. We got us the fanciest double wide money available lol. Ceramic title bathrooms, and Sheetrock throughout etc. Can’t wait to see it all setup. I’m ready to move! The current home is a hot box in the summer time for sure.
  5. Been doing some clearing! And my lot is almost ready for the home! Nothing but woods around me. I love it. There is one new home that was built across the street you can see in the pic, but woods to my left, woods on the right, and woods behind me. The 1st pic is my drive way, and I have water hookup, and a culvert pipe! Electric is next, then Concrete pad for the home. The home has already been manufactured, that process took 4 months after the order was submitted for them to build it.
  6. I can actually do this. Don’t make me do it lol. I am already trying to resist going direct die with my chip lol. 8800c38? No problem! I have built a stable profile for it. As for 6.4/4.9+HT on in a game that uses about 6% CPU usage? Done lol. With chilled water + Direct die it’s all doable. The one thing I cannot do is 3,150 on my 4090 because it’s on air. And it’s just a turd.
  7. Time to take the above average ks to the moon on new bios. 🙂
  8. @Mr. Fox can you post the link to the that Apex 0933 bios again. I can’t find your post. Thank you. I really appreciate it.
  9. I hear ya. I’m going to grab just two retail chips, one at one place, and one at another. And then I will test those. Just looking for a well rounded and good working cpu. Some chips cannot operate properly at all it seems lol.
  10. So who is pre-ordering the 285K? And who is waiting for the possible 295K?
  11. What do you all think is going to happen with next gen Intel launch? The 285K can’t possible be their top dog chip. I mean, it has HT disabled, and it’s only about as fast as a 14900KS. The naming also sounds oddly familiar. “285K” “10850K”… 🧐Makes me think, Intel will drop a new “Value King CPU” the 285K for $449-$499 pricing. And then they release the real beast chip to compete with AMD 9000 X3D chips in the coming months. Maybe that will be the “Ultra 290K” or “Ultra 300K” 🙂 Something about the 285K competing at similar performance of the 14900KS seems a little suspicious to me. Intel has always been after that R23 MT score 😂 I am curious to see how this plays out. And I will more than likely wait to see the chips launch. Hopefully we will see a Special Edition.
  12. Watching these videos baffles me. I keep hearing him talk about "this CPU is only 3% faster in gaming" "theirs was 5% faster in gaming, but its not all that much fast" Where is this performance coming from? I am GPU bottlenecked like the rest of us. 🤣
  13. I couldn’t even bare it. The chip was just completely unstable on auto/default everything and DDR5 5600. I ran it for like 3 hours last night trying to see if I could get it working properly. And I couldn’t do anything but crash and run in circles. It acted like a 1000% defective CPU to me. (1) Opening R23 was impossible. (2) Extracting new R23 file would freeze during extraction. (3) opening any game would close to desktop after just a second, even games like BeamNG that are easy to run without shader compiling. (4) The only thing I could run was CPU-Z bench/Stress, which case the temps were really really good. (5) Opening a browser would lose internet connection and say, you‘re not connected to the internet. Using 5.9/4.5/4.5 with DDR5 5600c46 complete auto settings was next to impossible. I increased SA voltage which actually helped stability a little bit. R24 load would shoot load voltage up, and crash before it even started. It would only run properly if the chip was de-tuned to 5.6P/4.3E. Then it was useable as a chip. I did test memory stability at which passed fine as well. I pulled the chip and put mine back in. Here are a few pictures of the CPU.
  14. This SP103 is toast! I feel bad for the guy who bought it. I went straight to direct die, didn’t even test it before hand. But the chip needs like 1.225v just to run 5.6P at 48c package temp. Someone smoked the chip. 5.7/5.8/5.9 are all completely unstable. Launching anything other than a browser will BSOD. Turning off or reducing the E-Cores helps a lot. So, all I could get “Kinda useable” was 5.6P/4.3E/4.5R on direct die+ chilled water. 😂 Wonder if that’s why it was only $400 bucks for a 14900KS. 🤔 Anyways, I tried everything I could with the CPU. It just can't run at all without failing it seems. The chip refuses to launch R23 under any circumstances. Any light games are closing to desktop. This chip is defective, or it was cooked with so much voltage that it is so degraded it can barely run anymore at all. Since it needed about 1.225V for 5.6P and still would fail to run R24 consistently this makes me think it has been degraded or abused. But, I do not really know. I have never dealt with a CPU like this. I spent a lot of time with it. Not sure what it may be. 🤷‍♂️
  15. You do not want to use CMO files from other bios. You will have to make a new profile from scratch on the new bios always for best results. Sucks but, that’s just how it is. The reason why this instability happens plain and simple is because you are too close to the IMC limits, any little thing that isn’t exact as before, will throw it for a loop. So when you go back to those settings one little thing prevents it from being stable. That is why the term. “Re-train stable” is used with these latest Intel chips. “Re-Train stable” is when you can stabilize a profile, save the profile, reset your bios, re-load that profile on that exact bios, and it will be 100% stable no questions asked. Now, you are going to have to make a new profile with all new bios for best results. Thats what I do. It’s a hassle. But it just saves time in the long run. Because you are working up a stable profile for that bios. But, here’s the thing, not being re-train stable can occur at any time. What you need to do is this: (1) Pick your favorite bios ME etc (2) Build up a stable profile that can pass 1usmus 3 cycles. (3) Save the profile (4) Turn off the PC, flip PSU switch off for 1 months minute. (5) Power on PC, go and see if it can pass 1usmus 3 cycle again. The process from flipping PSU switch back on forces a re-train on the next power up, and if it’s not stable on the next stability test, it is due to being very close to IMC limits. If anything hangs over the edge, it’s immediately not stable.
  16. You ever have any retrain stability problems? I did with my r-batch with 8400/8533. I could get it absolutely stable 100%, try a different bios, switch back to old bios, load exact setting and profile to a T. And it would not be stable anymore. So I’d have to “Re-gain stability again” It’s always what Buildzoid talks about with these Intel memory controllers.
  17. I have a SP103 14900KS that I will be delidding and running on direct die. Will be testing the IMC as well. I want to see what something like this does at 5.8Ghz all core on direct die.
  18. There was a new driver released yesterday for this games support, it may help +1 fps, not quite sure yet. This is fully maxed out with 50% DLSS+FG. It is running really good though. Also, the latest bios for me are not all that great. I am sticking with 9901. The newer bios work great for power delivery to the CPU, low CPU power, low CPU temps, but they feel totally gutless with extreme ram tuning, and easy ram stability.
  19. I was looking at the exact same thing, when @Papusanfirst posted the video. I just about spewed my coffee everywhere seeing they both were using similar power 🙃. If their GPU usage was not so wonky and low, both CPU’s would use equally more power of course. But still makes me really consider things. What is real and what isn’t.
  20. What garbage tuning is this? The AMD chip and 14900K isn’t even pushing the 4090 properly. My system certainly slams my 4090 to the moon at 1080P. Cyberpunk 2077 does not experience any cpu bottleneck until 400fps+ range, yet they are already hitting low GPU usage at like 136 FPS avg? 🤣
  21. Did you run Wukong bench yet? Also, that game has some abnormally good reviews on Steam. I am tempted to just buy it.
  22. It's worth it! I had a 3090 Kingpin Hydro Copper for a long time. It was very fast. One thing about the 3090KP, was right out of the box and completely stock it was already faster than a 3090Ti FE, and once you overclocked it on chilled water, nothing could really keep up with it, not even overclocked 3090Ti's. Then Frame Gen started popping up in practically every game, and these 4070Ti's started pulling well ahead at a fraction of the power. I ended up getting a 4080 Super, and it was only like 15-18% faster than my 3090KP in rasterization it was the Frame Gen where it shined, and at a much lower power consumption. Once you overclocked the 4080 Super it was at least 22-23% faster in rasterization. But, with Ray tracing, DLSS3, and FG that gap grew even further. I have since upgraded to the 4090. While it is nice and all, that level of performance is not needed.. Honestly, I was pretty happy with just the 4080 Super. But that's why I really recommend pretty much any RTX4000 series GPU. It's just the way the future is headed with these games. DLSS, Scaling, and Frame Gen the whole shebang. The 3080's and 3090's have had their fun. They are pushing 4 years old now, and these newer lighter cards can show up them with all this fancy tech. When I had my 3090KP I could not stop wanting this darn frame gen feature for added smoothness. Nothing could be done but the way of upgrade. We see how demanding these games are without frame gen, and without scaling. So, every advantage to make things look and run as good as they can helps.
  23. You do not have to have a 4090 to enjoy this game. Honestly, just a 4060 would put you into DLSS3 with real FG, that alone is nice feature. Native 1080P then with DLSS+FG on top, and any modern RTX4000 series can handle that game really well. It was the main reason why I got rid of my 3090 Kingpin. And I have to give it to Nvidia, the new features really are worth it.
  24. I’d personally rather run DLSS2 at a lower percentage scale without FG, than FG+FSR at a higher percentage scale. The AMD FSR is not very good in my opinion. It does that shimmer effect that immediately gives away the fact we are using scaling. The 2080Ti is still a great GPU though. I would give Battlefield 2042 a test with that combination on a 128 multiplayer server. That would really interesting to see. Also, Death Stranding is another game that loves CPU cores! (no matter how many you have lol) It was the only title to push a 7980XE to 100% on all 36 threads long before games were all using 8/16 with my 3090 Kingpin and 2560x1440P lol. Those Sony ports are always the best when it comes to using hardware properly and optimization.
  25. The free benchmark is fantastic. It lets people see the game run and work. And we can see how it performs on our system. Games are expensive. Imagine how many refunds are issued over someone randomly buying a game, and then they aren’t happy with it due to performance issues, or not even launching/working all together. I may buy the game and play it, I never throw $60 bucks at a game unless it’s something I have been anticipating or really want. I have difficulty staying focused on games lately though, it has to be a really good game. I’ve just become obsessed with cpu/ram overclocking. I could get by with an iGPU for most of my work at home in all honesty. You know, another thing I really want is the current and future Apex boards allowing us to use the iGPU. The iGPU depends on fast system memory and what better motherboard than an Apex to use it on. That would be so to just all out full overclock and bench the Intel iGPU. And I can’t even use mine. Stalker 2, and Kingdome Come Deliverance 2 are coming this year and very soon! Both titles will push high end parts. I can’t wait for either. I plan to take a week off work for either title 😂
