havent really started with tuning the CPU yet tbh π might be stupid questions but: how would an undervolt on the cpu cores say anything about the IMC? different dies.... as for stability, sure, benching is no problem with 6400 and 8000, can do that all day long. im testing with anta777 absolut tm5 tho, and thats not passing haha. i dont want to end up with random BSODs down the line popping up in a few weeks / months time... lulz, please keep us updated on your results guys. curious to see if going even lower in temp will improve OCability at all. or might behave like current vRAM and lose clocks once u reach certain low temps... welp, im slowly thinking my bottleneck is the classic PEBCAK π now please do the same with the Asus Extreme π so what kinda bandwidth and latencies are we talking here, anyways? have u compared max clocks between 1:1 and 1:2? -
nice i was actually thinking of giving that one a try.

yeah thats the tachyon though, seems like. barely available anywhere, but good to know u have more than one π i for one just crapped out on the cpu imc and/or the mobo, cant get 6400 or 8000 stable for the life of me. so now im tightening things up for 6200 and 7800 instead. i do see significant improvements in timings tho with the new 8200-48gb kit vs. my previous 6600-32gb kit. -

oh the server edition also comes in TG flavour? huh, unexpected. in any case, just watched jays vid this morning, was nice to see my case being looked at again, albeit in a slightly different config π -
may do a DIY case via 3D printing? wouldnt surprise me if there was an active community coming up with new ideas in that regard π in any case (pun intended), good to see that this is a win win, both for the users in terms of upgradeability and for framework being able to offer previous gen parts for a wide variety of use cases.

oh heck yeah, always good to have such peeps around in the community. @chewkeep posting man! maybe u can be the anti-pole to papus black crocs π omg just cant get over those ultra silly thumbnails of his, just.... π€£ yep been aware of that for a while now, lots of reports on that over at overclock.net. one additional factor to be aware of while overclocking with the 1.1 V limit in place. -

welll now ure just showing off...especially with those fancy pink sandals π but jokes aside, dayum. u got some serious lucky mobo / imc / dimm combo right there! -

welp thats the thing, they can write it into their warranty policies all day long but how are they gonna trace it back to overclocking when they receive defective silicon? -
hey man, (late) welcome from me, as well π so nice to see that our little forum here can bring a bit of happiness, especially in such a dreadful context as an ongoing war....stay safe, stay enthusiastic!

ah welp....why cant it just be easy for once? hahaha

damn, even MORE demanding than R23. if this trend keeps up, there wont be a need to use a powervirus like P95 anymore π ill download and test it out once i get home. curious to see which command line instructions still work, sometimes they update the syntax, other times they dont. any new features / options integrated vs. CB R23? i find it interesting to see how vastly different games react to the same hardware. some games where X3D leaves everything else completely in the dust, in this case more cache only helps a tiny bit, specific arch and jiggahertz galore is the winner. i hope this is not a new trend that will intensify in the future. i dont want to have to specifically look up all games and programs i POTENTIALLY want to use in the future and adapt my hardware accordingly. as we all know, theres always new software around the corner so things might change rapidly.... ugh i actually find this super interesting (me being the big data / statistics nerd that i am π ) especially long term wise, this would be a cool indicator for silicon wear / degradation. aside from accumulated temp theres also the same for voltage and amperage. the only time this would SUCK though, is if manufacturers use these values to judge, whether or not a cpu / mobo / etc was overclocked or utilized in a "suboptimal ambient thermal environment" to try and get out of warranty claims π€ͺ -
thats promising though. one could feasibly either solder the eDP connector onto the board, or if you have one of those older models, you could swap out the internal screen with an eDP model. they include the cable for it π
-
ah that sucks, i remember Pascal onwards was dependant on eDP only, no more lvds. maybe theres some kind of signal adapter? aliexpress always offers crazy stuff like that π

LOL i thought exactly the same thing when i read about that 8h gaming session π 1-2h freetime a day if im lucky hahaha. and half of that is spent doing household chores or paperwork. INFLATION! has nothing to do with corporate greed! /s -
2700X to 5800X3D upgrade! With a 10850K Cameo!
jaybee83 replied to Reciever's topic in Desktop Hardware
yeps, basically a tad downclocked 10900K cuz Intel wasnt able to supply those in big enough numbers haha. -

nice writeup, thanks for that. havent gotten around to watching it yet, but its on my playlist. this sounds like Starfield profits way more from raw jiggahertz than it does from increased cache sizes. curious to see how its performance numbers will develop with upcoming patches. especially on the cpu side there seems to be A LOT of performance still left on the table.... -

noice! welcome to the 8k club! how stable is it? what mobo are you running? and what sticks? damn thats a very nice write up, thanks for that π ill check and see if lowering VDDP will help, fingers crossed! whats the max bootable frequency u were able to do on AM5? irrespective of stability, just bootable. -

jaybee83 replied to Mr. Fox's topic in Desktop Hardware
WAT?! THATS 2.4 FPS LESS THAN THE 4090, HOW DARE YOU WANTING TO SETTLE FOR LESS /s π hey bud, yeah booting with 8000 is not the issue, its getting it stable that is π as for being stuck at 1.43V, look for a bios option that unlocks RAM PMIC high voltage mode, then u can go above 1.43. good input there, thx for that. i didnt expect the board to be the bottleneck here, would suck if its not tied to the CPU IMC. lets see what upciming AM5 CPU gens bring to the table, im expecting an improvement with new IMC, even on the same board. heres to hoping! and in the meantime, ill keep on tweaking and tuning...i want my 8000 stable! π
