  1. as usual, its always down to what ure using it for. that never changed 😁 welp any company would turn out like that if they had any market niche cornered, no surprise there 😑 welp, intel will soon move away from monolithic, as well, same with Nvidia. similar to switching from a single core eith more jiggahertz to multiple cores, it just makes sense longterm to switch from one monolithic die to mutliple chiplets. next step after that will likely be 3D chips, of which we already see the early beginnings with stacked cache. or maybe alternative subtrates like glass, lets see what the future brings. in the end we will not really care as long at it gets us MOAR performance 😁
  2. one more reason for me not to try it anytime soon, wanna stick to my current setup hahaha
  3. easy scalability and low cost. without the CCX strategy we wouldve never gotten an Intel trying hard to churn out additional cores, even if its just baby cores cuz otherwise they wouldnt be able to compete in multi core performance inside a monolithic silicon power and pricing budget.
  4. lets see if they learned from their previous TR mistakes 😋 now thats very unexpected 😁
  5. cool topic bro but im a bit confused about this post of yours 😅
  6. huh! thats actually quite an interesting strategy you applied there, i might be inclined to try that out 🙂 good job! replied to DM 😄 i see youre sporting a 13600K, DDR5-7200 should be the minimum the IMC is able to push. id say push those RAM voltages up high and shoot for 8000+ 😁 LULZ shame on you, not even able to get a PEASANT style 8800C40 to pass TM5. throw those garbage DIMMs away instantly! /s
  7. i have yet to try VR at all. but tbh not really interested, super happy with my current setup, definitely immersive especially with the bigass screen and wearing headphones (a must when u have a baby around hahaha). but i guess VR is something like high refresh rate monitors: unless you actually EXPERIENCE it, you dont really know what youre missing out on.
  8. i got a 2x16 GB DDR5-6600 kit from G.Skill laying around. hit me up 😄 and yes agreed, my board tops out at 8000, havent gotten 8200 to boot yet. but hey, we all like big numbers, dont we? 😛
  9. i just saw this article, thought about NBT and had to chuckle.... FINALLY "BARELY ADEQUATE" COOLING FOR THE LIKES OF US HERE! 🤣 https://www.tomshardware.com/news/intel-and-submer-develop-immersion-cooling-for-1000w-cpus
  10. lulz, DDR5 is a blast when it comes to iterations in quick succession, couple that with CRAZYILY dropping prices on the existing kits hahaha. but lets see on availability, 8200 kits, at least in europe, are veeeeery few and far between.... i saw that as well on computerbase, very sus.... best case its indeed related to security mitigations. shoot, i was hoping for better efficiency. although @Talon's initial impression lets me still hope when one takes the manual tuning route. if Blackwell is really only released ibn 2025 theyll of course need something to sell in the meantime (or rather, something to scare off any sensible buyers, as with the rest of this GREAT VALUE gpu gen 😄 )
  11. currently enjoying Control, but damn its a HEAVY game to run! fully maxxed out (no upscaling) at 4K with HDR and DLAA and having the native HDR mod installed im averaging 40-60 fps...thats with my 4090 at 3045-3120 mhz on the core and 24+ Gbps (+1525 Mhz) on the vRAM 😂 BUT it looks goooorgeous....and the game itself is actually quite fun, very atmospheric 🙂
  12. lets see what zen 5 will bring to the table, but still got a bit of a wait until 2024... until then, currently enjoying Control fully maxxed out (no upscaling crap) at 4K with HDR and mods....holy guacamole with my 4090 running between 3045-3120 mhz on core and 24+ Gbps (+1525 Mhz) on the vRAM im in the range of 40-60 FPS *LOL* gpu alone is drawing up to 800+ W, glad im on the TX-1600 psu, its not breaking a sweat 😁
  13. lulz if those thumbnails are anything to go by we shouldnt expect much.... 😅 will be sure to have looksie later!
  14. welp, same price for same product right? 😄 kool man, i expect the full deetz on your personal comparison between 13th and 14th gen 🙂 u got a 13900K or KS now? yup nothing surprising tho. only thing i would be interested in is the efficiency, hoping for higher clocks at same voltage, should be interesting in light of me planning to put that into my lady's Clevo 😛
  15. ah those were the days....good times 😄 yup openrgb is cool, sometimes a bit finicky to use but its barely visible in terms of system resources 🙂
  16. baby asleep - check. wife just went to bed - check. lets goooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
  17. ah aight then. here in the EU at least u have the minimum 2 yr warranty that doesnt really consider if ure the original owner or not. but yeah, anything above that via the manufacturer warranty would be different.
  18. word. been using a brace for mine as well since day 1. also very happy about using the high quality seasonic PSU 16pin cable, no issues thus far after one year (dayum, has it already been a FULL YEAR with Hyperion? insane how time flies when ure having fun 😄 ) edit: aaaaand just stumbled upon this nice article lol https://www.tomshardware.com/news/rtx-4090-16-pin-connector-melted-after-one-year-of-usage then again, no surprise considering how frequently papu has been keeping us updated on new incidences like these 😅
  19. DUUUUDE, has been AGES! so good to see you here bud, i just laughed my butt off at your last post 🤣 btw, be sure to update your sig with your desktop specs, lets see what u got 😉
  20. damn, had no idea that mini LED screens have already reached laptops! by any chance, u know the res/size, display model and how many background lighting zones it has? edit: ah its a QHD screen, just realized 😄 the rest of the specs would still be nice tho 🙂 curious
  21. welp "excited" would be a strong word, since im not an apple user. but i always applaud any steps taken (even when forced by EU legislation lulz) to ensure compatibility and reuseability of other devices 🙂
  22. haha sounds like you just fell in love 😄 those are quite the thin bezels for sure... what kinda specs and price tag are we talking here?
