aight boiz, get your wallets and your F5 keys ready for RTX 5090 launch day: https://www.tomshardware.com/pc-components/gpus/nvidia-expects-next-gen-blackwell-gpus-to-be-supply-constrained its gonna suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck in other, COMPLETELY UNRELATED news 😛 : https://www.tomshardware.com/tech-industry/nvidia-rallies-to-dollar2-trillion-on-ai-surge-making-founder-and-ceo-jensen-huang-the-worlds-21st-richest-person -

word, especially with 6 years warranty on that thing lets enjoy it a bit before replacement. maybe the LF IV or V will be a worthy successor 😄 yeps, delid done, wasnt that big of a difference, just 2-4C lower temps. currently still tuning the installation of the ThermalGrizzly custom IHS, i need to shave down the plastic standoffs by like 2 mm or so for proper mounting pressure. ur liquid suprim is doing a tad better in OC across both core and vRAM vs my air cooled model, should be combo of silicon lottery and better cooling 🙂 -

i already HAVE the 420 in A-RGB flavour 😉 but i swapped out the fans with black Noctua Industrial IPPC-3000 rpm fans in push/pull 🤣 that plus offset mounting, delidded with LM and custom TG IHS should negate any advantages the III has over the II haha. -
good to see OLED finally catching up to VA panels like my Neo G8 at 4K and 240 Hz. I am still hesitant to switch to OLED though due to burn in. i use my monitor for both gaming and office work, and the latter is just not the scenario u want to use an OLED in, especially at 8+ hours a day.... so hanging back and keeping tabs on the OLED developments, while enjoying my Neo G8 🙂

yeah laptops are better off with a more viscous paste due to higher variability in heatsink contact. kryonaut is rather thin and suffers from pumpout over longer periods of time. but freshly applied its pretty solid. i wonder if kryonaut extreme / KPx is better in that regard? still have a huge tube of kryonaut OG, so not planning to get a new paste anytime soon 😄

not only 600W+ TDP air cooler but hes also showing temps at full tilt 100% fan speed 😄 -

agreed on all points. and i regularly use the mouse pad, too 😄 -

welp i guess if u got the right kind of kink ud be super happy about worn women's shoes?! 😄 admit it, u only bought it for the mousepad! yes please, bench those mousepads! 😄 indeed the Suprim X coolers are quite capable. iirc they use the same cooler on both the 4090 and 4080 suprim skus 🙂 so u basically got a 600+ W TDP gpu cooler on a 300W gpu 😄 -

that looks interesting, especially with the included skins / layouts for AIDA64, that definitely saves a lot of work and time on setting things up. u happy with it so far? might be a bit too long to fit into my case though 😄 not that the case itself isnt big enough, but i got an empty space I saved for an internal screen, and this one might be a bit too long for that space haha -

yep also another item on my todo list, wanting to install a custom panel into my case for sensor readouts. not 100% sure yet if im actually gonna go through with it. definitely enough space but the rather crappy selection of panels on the market hasnt really convinced me completely... -

haha i feel ya man, tuning time is becoming rarer and rarer these days. but hey, its all for a good cause, in the end ull remember the quality time spent with family more rather than tuning hardware 😛 and yessss i also still need to do our taxes! 😅 -

aight boiz, my two ladies will be off to the grandparents this weekend, this means: FINALLY TIME FOR TUNING! 😄 ill finally be able to sit down and sand off the cooler standoffs to properly install that custom TG IHS 🙂 wish me luck for better temps! -

damn, being able to do -30 on all cores is pretty nice 😄 welp, then just go for the all blacked out one...they include that too in the vid 😄 -

noice, staying below 95C on full bore 🙂 whats your cooling setup? and what cpu tweaks implemented? -

noice, welcome to the suprim family 😄 i actually find the design quite "compact" (in comparable, relative terms hahaha) and nicely looking, not too over-the-top "gamery". cooling and loudness wise definitely a winner! ah yes we all absolutely "need" this hardware, sure sure.... 🤣 but jokes aside, im guessing they have fixed time intervals during which they send out their updates. if it so happens that there is no stock during that time point, then u gotta wait until the next cycle completes....kinda stupid actually, but i guess saves them 2c on ressources? hahaha -

welp the overlock doesnt change the 2-3% difference, the rest is just silicon lottery 😛 welp tbh i didnt really take a look at used 4080 pricing 😄 i just ASSUMED, god forbid, people following common sense and offering USED cards for below new pricing, especially with a Super successor out now. that doesnt seem to be the case hahahah, my bad 😛 naturally i wouldnt get a used card at same pricing as a new one PLUS 2-3% less performance. in thaat case just waait for restocks if you dont mind the wait 🙂 -

jaybee83 replied to Mr. Fox's topic in Desktop Hardware
um....why not just get a regular 4080, maybe even used? save a ton of money and only lose like 2-3% in performance. overclock and bam, done. -

individual cases i wouldnt find suspicious, theres always the odd user who needs cash fast and thus sells off items below value. but if those keep popping up left and right id be cautious! -

haha yep, also got the monies ready for 50 series and Zen 5 😄 although no need for an upgrade to X870 mobo, apparently the major uplift will be in the USB4 requirements. lucky me i purposefully got a mobo with USB4 already on it 🙂 -

hahaha i doubt that companies would care about crossflashing or overclocking though? 😄 -

sure, from a private enthusiast perspective, totally get it. i mean, i also got the 4090 on launch day, after all 😄 but most of the demand is from AI companies. in a business environment its more about price/perf. than going balls to the wall. i cant imagine that those mere 10% difference WITH SAME VRAM would make up for a multifold in initial buying price... -

jaybee83 replied to Mr. Fox's topic in Desktop Hardware
what i also dont get: why do ppl in china pay scalper prices for the 4090 when they can get the 4090D at 1.9k USD with only 10% less performance but same vRAM? like....wheres the logic in that?
