damn, being able to do -30 on all cores is pretty nice 😄 welp, then just go for the all blacked out one...they include that too in the vid 😄 -

noice, staying below 95C on full bore 🙂 whats your cooling setup? and what cpu tweaks implemented? -

noice, welcome to the suprim family 😄 i actually find the design quite "compact" (in comparable, relative terms hahaha) and nicely looking, not too over-the-top "gamery". cooling and loudness wise definitely a winner! ah yes we all absolutely "need" this hardware, sure sure.... 🤣 but jokes aside, im guessing they have fixed time intervals during which they send out their updates. if it so happens that there is no stock during that time point, then u gotta wait until the next cycle completes....kinda stupid actually, but i guess saves them 2c on ressources? hahaha -

welp the overlock doesnt change the 2-3% difference, the rest is just silicon lottery 😛 welp tbh i didnt really take a look at used 4080 pricing 😄 i just ASSUMED, god forbid, people following common sense and offering USED cards for below new pricing, especially with a Super successor out now. that doesnt seem to be the case hahahah, my bad 😛 naturally i wouldnt get a used card at same pricing as a new one PLUS 2-3% less performance. in thaat case just waait for restocks if you dont mind the wait 🙂 -

um....why not just get a regular 4080, maybe even used? save a ton of money and only lose like 2-3% in performance. overclock and bam, done. -

individual cases i wouldnt find suspicious, theres always the odd user who needs cash fast and thus sells off items below value. but if those keep popping up left and right id be cautious! -

haha yep, also got the monies ready for 50 series and Zen 5 😄 although no need for an upgrade to X870 mobo, apparently the major uplift will be in the USB4 requirements. lucky me i purposefully got a mobo with USB4 already on it 🙂 -

hahaha i doubt that companies would care about crossflashing or overclocking though? 😄 -

sure, from a private enthusiast perspective, totally get it. i mean, i also got the 4090 on launch day, after all 😄 but most of the demand is from AI companies. in a business environment its more about price/perf. than going balls to the wall. i cant imagine that those mere 10% difference WITH SAME VRAM would make up for a multifold in initial buying price... -

jaybee83 replied to Mr. Fox's topic in Desktop Hardware
what i also dont get: why do ppl in china pay scalper prices for the 4090 when they can get the 4090D at 1.9k USD with only 10% less performance but same vRAM? like....wheres the logic in that? -

yup, 100% same decision base and why i switched from my initial plan to get the trash boat zotac airo extreme to the suprim x. word on the 2nd paragraph. -

damn, thats unexpected....were slowly coming into that age where we see famous ppl and also some friends and family leaving us, ugh....sux. what did he die from, just old age or smth else? btw, totally get your situation with building a new home man, no worries. got your prios straight 🙂 on an unrelated note: got myself a fuil set of sanding paper with various grits, gonna use those now to properly shorten the plastic standoffs of my AM5 AiO bracket. to refresh your minds: this is to make proper contact with the ThermalGrizzly custom IHS, since its about 2mm lower in Z height than the stock IHS. my first try failed, after i shortened the standoffs by "sawing" them off with a sharp knife. unfortunately, the results were too uneven, currently getting around 2C higher than full stock. its not enough for me to worry about everyday operation, but of course this is not why i got the custom IHS 😄 in any case, im hoping slow and even sanding will help me get a nice even finish. fingers crossed guys! -

LOL weeks in mental prep and u slept in HAHAHA. sorry had to chuckle when i saw this 😄 soooo... cuz u cant wait another day ure willing to spend those extra 150 bucks? welp thats on you i guess 😛 same goes with not getting a 4090. if u have 1200 bucks disposable income for a gpu, u can just wait and save for another what? 1-2 months? and then get a 4090, easy. so its more about patience than capabilities here id wager. not hating! i just find it curious that someone who buys CPUs like popcorn left and right suddenly complains about financial constraints... if youre just impatient, stand by it bud, nothing wrong with that 🙂 its weird when u realize ure playing games based on studios that developed them and not cuz of their standalone content value. i.e. with Remedy and Machinegames i just know ill be in for a good ride, dense atmosphere, great gameplay and rewarding graphics + storytelling 🙂 hoping such studios will never really cease to exist! -

agreed, there likely will not be anything more powerful than the 4090 for this gen. plus, if AMD really pulls back to mainstream for RDNA4, it could very well be that Blackwell will be a "meh" generational upgrade at like +20% similar to the 20 series. lets see what we get... -

the only good thing i get out of these charts is the massive perf. jump going from "everything else" to the 4090 😄 welp, its kinda our own fault...we jumped onto the ridonkulous prices during the pandemic when everyone and their dog bought a new system, so that let Nvidia and the others know: ooooh, well would u look at that. youre willing to pay THAT much?! ok then, here u go, never going back down again! MWAHAHA good point, while inflation is currently being touted as the perfect excuse for pretty much everything greed-related, it DOES actually have an impact over longer time periods. -
da place 2 b indeed, welcome to NBT 🙂

a phrase like "limited budget" is kinda unusual to come from a hardware user like you 😄 huh? happy birthday? planning to get up to 120? if yes to both, nice 😄 3200+ duuude...but ok, then again thats just bench stable 😄 that lower end i assume would be in RT benches. -

agreed. FG is not something i care about, same goes for all the upscaling crap like DLSS and FSR. I DO care about raytracing though! nah man, just enjoy ur 3090 KP a bit longer and get the 5090 when it comes out 🙂 yep i was also surprised when i saw this pop up. havent watched it yet but should be interesting to compare with GNs findings (although with different CPUs). -

"not bad" he says non-chalantly 😄 good job there mate hahaha. what kinda clocks and temps are we talking here? also, say what u will about AMD GPUs, but the 7900XTX at +35% raster performance and +8GB vram vs. the 4070 Ti Super is a no-brainer at the same price... unless you absolutely NEED ray-tracing, then i expect the 70 card to outperform team red by a significant margin. question being, if the FPS are even playable at that point 😄 -
