  1. same for the 7950X, SP ratings ive seen so far are veeery tightly grouped together, total range of maybe around 5-6. turns out i got a middle of the pack SP116, so far ive seen it range from like 113 to 119, along those lines.
  2. cool man nice to hear theyre still around 🙂 and good to spread the word, get some vendors reps on board!
  3. depends on the fans and their settings i guess. but being a DTR enthusiast, you wouldnt want it any other way than JET ENGINE FULL BLAST 24/7 😄
  4. dude thats some serious hardware packed in such a small form factor! do you have a suitcase or similar for it to carry it around easily?
  5. keep us updated bud. in the meanwhile, i need to do some inventory and sort out all the stuff id like to sell off. expect a ton of hardware coming up in the NBT marketplace from me!
  6. wait, are those the same Donald & Zoltan that used to work over at HIDEvolution? No idea if theyre still around though, but back in the NBR day they were basically the EVGA for Clevos with tons of custom upgrades available (but also at premium pricing).
  7. if reliability is your first and foremost priority, then id wait for the shortly upcoming 990 Pro, u just cannot beat Samsung in terms of SSD reliability. only reason i went with the Firecuda this round was that it provides higher TBW and a bit higher performance than the 980 Pro did.
  8. exactly my point, also made by Jay: this round its SO close to one another, its difficult to make a decision. u cant just go by raw performance alone anymore, so everyone should be aware of their priorities, wants and needs befors making an informed decision 🙂 dont u love it? haha welcome to the RED side of life, brother. lets keep our small but fine Zen 4 corner alive here at NBT against the seemingly overwhelming Intel RPL front 😄 (all in good friendly competition, of course)
  9. never thought I'd see the day where uncle Fox is caught getting giddy about ocing and benching a "mainstream" gpu 😄 i love it! and for sure more economic than being on the bleeding edge all the time. brother Papu lead by example here haha ah yes ive heard about that faulty gasket thingy, im glad though that they reacted so fast and sent out replacement kits for free to customers. i also jumped on the contact frame bandwagon with Thermal Grizzly, but unfortunately my lady's machine has some kinda funky non-standard screws holding the ILM in place. so gotta wait until my LTT screwdriver comes incl all the bit packages 😄 until then, the contact frame prices should have surely come down a bit. wouldnt the fan still be under warranty? considering that they extended it to 6 years total. or does that not include the fans?
  10. just sad for all the potential customers hoping against all hope to have an MC around the corner 😄
  11. good way to keep costs low, since they can use their existing brick n mortar infrastructure. no need for separate warehouse and logistics to handle all the online stuff. same goes for RMA
  12. nice extra for the firecuda is also the three year data recovery service thats included. so no worries on losing any data in the first three years 🙂
  13. only had mine for like a week or so in use so too early to tell 😄
  14. LOL ok, 110% priority on whichever comes first HAHAHA ure going insane and i love it 🤣
  15. sure, but have u looked at other multi core apps aside from CB? like Blender, Corona, V-Ray, Geekbench, etc... i expect its the eyes that take a wide look around and dont just focus on a single review and a single benchmark 😄 if you take in all the reviews the 7950X beats the 13900K in most multicore benches whereas the intel chip has its nose ahead in gaming and single core hands down. brilliant summary as usual, keep it up! 🙂 i feel ya bud. the most important take away for me this CPU round is this: there is something for everyone! i.e. true competition and actual, real options all around. you want DDR4 and keep ur ADL platform? go RPL! you want a forward-looking platform and dont want to upgrade ur whole system every year? go Zen 4! you prefer highest power consumption, highest clocks, baby cores, highest single core perf? Intel all the way! you prefer good perf/power ratios, no baby cores, highest end platform on the market, best multicore perf overall? Team AMD is for you! and now let the flamewars commence. ill just lean back and enjoy my system and be happy for everyone who got something theyre interested in 😄
  16. LOL i think its playtime now, all the boys in the yard! 🤣 about time, i was feeling a bit lonely here with my 7950X, have fun tuning guys! ha, as if Roman would EVER test ANYthing at stock! 😛
  17. meh, nothing shocking really, a bit slower in multicore vs. AMD, a bit faster in single core and games. pretty much as expected.
  18. ha yeah took me a bit of work on launch day, but 1.5 hours later i got a card successfully ordered with overnight express shipping 😄
  19. amazing work mate! enjoy ur new beastly machine 🙂
  20. lol i wish. tweaking so far was just limited to gpu since thats the easiest / most straight forward. for ryzen cpu and ram tweaking ill need to do way more research, since i havent been on an AMD system since the good old Athlon days! besides, i figured it doesnt make sense for me to spend too much time tweaking yet, before i havent ordered and installed all the planned fans in the case. as it is right now, i dont even have an exhaust fan! 😄 only thing ive done that i had mentioned before was quick n dirty bios tuning and booting tests, with the 7950X maxing out at like 5.7/5.8 ghz all core and the RAM at around 6400-6500 Mhz.
  21. im pretty sure it will be less expensive than the 4090 at least. AMD isnt there yet where they can demand more or even just on par pricing with Nvidia. with 1300-1400€ u should be very solidly positioned to get one of the two flagship cards theyre planning to launch in dec 🙂 and i totally get the time constraints with a kid on the way! 😅
  22. that would be awesome for all gamers worldwide (at least those who can afford new hardware among the recession 😅) would be reminiscent to the X3D tech on the cpu side. AMD using the same weapons to compete with nvidia as with intel previously. money and resources well spent. downside of dlss 3 is that its more geared towards hardware that can already generate sufficient fps, for slower hardware dlss 2 / fsr 2 is still likely a better solution due to less impact on latency. in any case, im expectind nvidia to continue improving on dlss 3, maybe limit the latency increase and reduce artifacts. then well have a true additional option 🙂 more of the same then it seems: rasterization amd lower res wins for AMD, higher res and "extra goodies" like RT and dlss 3 wins for Nvidia. but judt as with intel before, AMD is slowly but surely creeping up to par with the competition. as opposed to intel though, nvidia so far hasnt "slipped" in terms of delivering and focusing on new products, so itll be a tougher competition. no doubt in my mind that AMD will price rdna 3 competitively vs. nvidia. theyre not at the point where they can demand more money than the competition (and recently learned that the hard way with zen 4 😅). however, theyre getting ever closer and more dangerous, thats for sure. pass on that, doesnt have enough RGB for my taste 🤣 plus waaaay too many potential points of failure. LOL all potential buyers still desperately trying to get a card will curse u for this 😂 yep, 1 month if interest subsides quickly, but 2 at the higher end. this is actually back to normal, first weeks of a new gpu gen are always sold out pretty quickly before normalizing down to msrp 🙂
  23. yeah bud, wouldnt wanna recommend any garbage to you guys. today im moving the last data off the Dark Knight, his days / hours are numbered 😅
