No its an issue on default theme the emoji's selection icon has the same color as the background. I have added it to the list of things we are working on but for reference please see here.
-
Its all good :) I appreciate you giving this platform a chance.
-
Is that what really happened? I had a sneaking suspicion there could be some agitation if the name is the same. Are you on the default theme?
-
I plan to do exactly that, we just need to decouple Likes/Emoji's from the REP system (which is why the limitation is in place by default) Let me touch base with @Hiewand make sure we are on the same page first.
-
Some of the oddities seen are just default functions I believe, yet to be stripped out. We will be working on some of these things relatively soon. 🙂

I see, tight fit! Sorry if I came off direct, I take a large dose of sleep aids and it becomes difficult to articulate. Should be able to go with 4 pipes then. It's been done on the ranger but it's worth noting that you will need to shave off some of the tensioner. The amount on the ranger was iirc a about a millimeter off each side. Not saying it's verbatim the same, I very much doubt it would be but it could be an avenue to look at critically to see if it could work here.

What phone are you daily driving currently?
Reciever replied to Katja's topic in Mobile Devices & Gadgets
Using a v20 still, probably going to look into replacing it soon as it's long out of cycle for security updates. Custom Roms are available but the process is convoluted or requires resources that are tied to broken links. -
You stack the heatpipes.
-
Before you worry about liquid metal, need to have a process in place that can deliver a high probability of even pressure across the cores. To use the second heatsink I would use 6 heatpipes, or for simplicity 4.

Ah well the more you know! Lol

This is pretty much the only fair means to evaluate each solution. Let's say even if there was a litany of issues with the other presented solutions and this forum was functionally perfect (its not, but for sake of argument), if I had a wildly different view of what NBR should be it makes it all moot anyways. The only way to determine that is to spend some time on each forum. Which is why despite my reservations of John's character I bite my lip and keep my opinions to myself. As for Spartans forum I really do hope they get things rolling soon. Maybe our differences could attract people we may otherwise wouldn't, who knows! I prefer open source just like most sensible people, including Hiew and I'm sure many of you as well. The issue with it is if you need something outside of what is available out of the box the time frame to complete said task is unacceptably long and vague. Under optimal scenario it might of worked but we needed something immediately that was also modular so we could adjust to what the community wants to have in place as well as fulfill my desire of database backups, themes, user specific configurations. We already had a forum running when he was shilling his option in my thread, but we kept it to a limited release for testing purposes before fully releasing that Sunday afternoon.

Yeah I really liked that as well, except for one detail which is likely just me being ignorant. The longer messages I could never actually read them because it cut it short and didn't expand it even when looking at the rep message under your profile. So there were many where I had a good idea what it was trying to convey but others where it was hard to extrapolate.
-
Yep! I'm personally not aware of the details but we do have some measures in place to prevent spam from making it to the forums. Of course though if it does bleed through please report it

I would also disable vsync just to rule it out

There is actually different vision for that but in order to not have it abused it opened up a torrent of work and so we had to put it back down for now until we catch up irl. I would like to have curated news again but also allow for people to post news in relevant threads. The issue stems from prioritizing the relevant thread or the curated section. We have figured out a way to allow for it to appear in both. However this can be ripe for abuse so immediately what followed was discussion on how to "punish" members. I don't like the climate in social media where you are banished forever. I would like to have systems in place to bring people back or grant functions again. That subject was fresh but I ran out of time and had to start moving and try to have it wrapped up before the snow started coming in.

That's all default function, it may be something we keep but certainly not as it currently functions.
-
I actually liked the rep/like system on nbr as opposed to OCN. You want to show support in something but not quite something deserving of rep specifically. That's how I thought of it anyways. What about you guys?
-
Thanks for pointing out the details guys! Without you we wouldn't be able to catch certain things due to either my or Hiews use habits. I do ask that you have patience with us as we had to put quite a few things on hold IRL in order to make what we have at the moment before Nbr was taken from us. I assure you all that we will be looking into every post made here as soon as we can.

We may not respond well today and tomorrow due to irl factors but I am reading the suggestion threads and considering each one for internal discussion.
-
There aren't any issues that I am aware of but that being said we wouldnt be able to fight take down notices either. I cant recall if t456 is on the forums, I havent personally looked over the list of members but would be happy to have him.

Notebook Review forum archive – NBRCHIVE
Reciever replied to Aaron44126's topic in General Discussion
I appreciate the kind words, I really do. I hate the circumstances that culminated in our current events at the same time still in a state of shock that it both happened as well as we even have this platform now. I am an average bloke who makes an effort to understand, that is all that I can claim. @Aaron44126is the real star here who took point on archiving NotebookReview, I am not sure how the relationship between himself and @Sandy Bridgeculminated, perhaps (likely) organically, providing a (what seemed to be) homebrewed application to save all those thousands (millions, I believe) of posts. I only assisted to some degree. Even with the forum that we have now, if @Hiewdidnt already have a cursory interest in communities and forums that reaches beyond a decade he wouldnt have been able to drum up a forum that is worth using and I would have nothing to offer and simply watch the clock until NBR was gone. All the mentioned names above have had much more of a tangible effect on the result that we have now. Its not perfect, and there is more work to be done, but all I did was facilitate to the best of my abilities, and will continue to do so, so long as I have the privilege to do so. I could never fill in the shoes that Charles left behind, wish he was around. Maybe that will change in the future, hopefully it does even for a little while.- 150 replies

There was also the school of thought that dark modes were easier on cell batteries. I never verified it myself but the surface thought process made sense.
-
Because we still have a lot of work to do lol
-
I have been thinking of a kind of subtext for the forums, not sure if anyone would like it/care for it. So I kept it to myself. Old standards, new era Also we have a few more of the old guard posting here so be sure to spread the love guys! Honestly it's surprising to hear the NBR staff be so candid. I'm sure in some ways it may be a bit of a relief to be able to air your grievances.

How many spinning hard drives do you have in your desktop?
Reciever replied to Sandy Bridge's topic in Desktop Hardware
What about external drives connected via internal DATA and POWER :3
