  1. I know where I can get the template, will be making an inquiry soon. Might have it up by this evening or at worst around the time I open the poll tomorrow evening.
  2. Hammer, I'd like to reconnect you with someone you know well, Nail.
  3. Good Evening everyone! I have been paying attention to a number of requests or oddities that appear, that need a resolution along with what current areas of the forum have interest enough to carry themselves or ones that need to be consolidated. This is by no means a permanent solution and over time we may gain more traffic in these consolidated spaces may grow to have dedicated locations once more. I know it may appear as though not much is going on the surface, however we are very much making progress in certain important bends that over time you all may come to recognize in the coming days. I am also getting feedback from various sources and trying to make the best path forward for the forum, and you all, the community are also a part of this process. We are going to be reviving the currently missing WLSIB template, as that had always been a mainstay and allows for uninformed to pick the brains of the community. Some of the forums will be rearranged and/or consolidated. The content will be retained. A number of idea's are currently in infancy, and I look forward to getting the feedback from you all as we determine its viability This Friday I will be opening a poll for what we will name the forum, I think it would be fair to leave it open for one week, unless there are zero votes for 48 hours. I have to balance the community with attempting to establish the name of the forum. With that in mind please bear in the mind the following: Anyone that has a suggestion must get it to me by Friday @ 10PM CST. Please PM me with the suggestions and we will attempt to grab the names if they pass internal scrutiny. Anyone that knows members that are here and registered, but dont surf everyday to ping them so they can make sure they get in their vote. There are many irons in the fire, and I cant wait to share them with you all! However just like how we didnt open the flood gates as soon as this forum was technically up, we will make sure it can work well here. Thats all I have for the moment, and I look forward to continued dialogue with everyone! Chris
  4. Its on the list, I dont have the template readily available, I cant remember verbatim how it was formatted.
  5. Yep! This has been added to the list! One thing we have had to step away from is making changes on the fly as it tends to not lend itself to documentation that we made the actual change and doubling our work. I have been creating a list of all the requests that have been made over various threads into one location. This along with temporarily increasing the limit on emoji (which is basically being substituted for likes from nbr) are the top of the list.
  6. That is likely to be what happens unless we determine some of other odd use case worth pursuing 🙂
  7. I thought that might be the case initially, as he still has his original role to fulfill. Spartan deserves better, if you are in contact with him please let him know that he is always welcome here. If it was purchased with HID funding it would likely be difficult long term. HID generally does well for us but a company is a profit seeking venture at the end of the day.
  8. We have acquired some domains to be put up for a vote soon :) Still adding some to the list but I believe we will have a public vote for it relatively soon.
  9. No its an issue on default theme the emoji's selection icon has the same color as the background. I have added it to the list of things we are working on but for reference please see here.
  10. Its all good :) I appreciate you giving this platform a chance.
  11. Is that what really happened? I had a sneaking suspicion there could be some agitation if the name is the same. Are you on the default theme?
  12. I plan to do exactly that, we just need to decouple Likes/Emoji's from the REP system (which is why the limitation is in place by default) Let me touch base with @Hiewand make sure we are on the same page first.
  13. Some of the oddities seen are just default functions I believe, yet to be stripped out. We will be working on some of these things relatively soon. 🙂
  14. I see, tight fit! Sorry if I came off direct, I take a large dose of sleep aids and it becomes difficult to articulate. Should be able to go with 4 pipes then. It's been done on the ranger but it's worth noting that you will need to shave off some of the tensioner. The amount on the ranger was iirc a about a millimeter off each side. Not saying it's verbatim the same, I very much doubt it would be but it could be an avenue to look at critically to see if it could work here.
  15. Using a v20 still, probably going to look into replacing it soon as it's long out of cycle for security updates. Custom Roms are available but the process is convoluted or requires resources that are tied to broken links.
  16. Before you worry about liquid metal, need to have a process in place that can deliver a high probability of even pressure across the cores. To use the second heatsink I would use 6 heatpipes, or for simplicity 4.
  17. Ah well the more you know! Lol
  18. This is pretty much the only fair means to evaluate each solution. Let's say even if there was a litany of issues with the other presented solutions and this forum was functionally perfect (its not, but for sake of argument), if I had a wildly different view of what NBR should be it makes it all moot anyways. The only way to determine that is to spend some time on each forum. Which is why despite my reservations of John's character I bite my lip and keep my opinions to myself. As for Spartans forum I really do hope they get things rolling soon. Maybe our differences could attract people we may otherwise wouldn't, who knows! I prefer open source just like most sensible people, including Hiew and I'm sure many of you as well. The issue with it is if you need something outside of what is available out of the box the time frame to complete said task is unacceptably long and vague. Under optimal scenario it might of worked but we needed something immediately that was also modular so we could adjust to what the community wants to have in place as well as fulfill my desire of database backups, themes, user specific configurations. We already had a forum running when he was shilling his option in my thread, but we kept it to a limited release for testing purposes before fully releasing that Sunday afternoon.
  19. Yeah I really liked that as well, except for one detail which is likely just me being ignorant. The longer messages I could never actually read them because it cut it short and didn't expand it even when looking at the rep message under your profile. So there were many where I had a good idea what it was trying to convey but others where it was hard to extrapolate.
  20. Yep! I'm personally not aware of the details but we do have some measures in place to prevent spam from making it to the forums. Of course though if it does bleed through please report it
  21. I would also disable vsync just to rule it out
  22. There is actually different vision for that but in order to not have it abused it opened up a torrent of work and so we had to put it back down for now until we catch up irl. I would like to have curated news again but also allow for people to post news in relevant threads. The issue stems from prioritizing the relevant thread or the curated section. We have figured out a way to allow for it to appear in both. However this can be ripe for abuse so immediately what followed was discussion on how to "punish" members. I don't like the climate in social media where you are banished forever. I would like to have systems in place to bring people back or grant functions again. That subject was fresh but I ran out of time and had to start moving and try to have it wrapped up before the snow started coming in.
  23. That's all default function, it may be something we keep but certainly not as it currently functions.
  24. I actually liked the rep/like system on nbr as opposed to OCN. You want to show support in something but not quite something deserving of rep specifically. That's how I thought of it anyways. What about you guys?
