  1. So far it's nothing (no pun intended) impressive really. But, it's their first phone, so they might produce something more competitive in the future. I personally don't like the "iphonesque design" - never been a fan, probably never will be :D
  2. Yes, I remember Fury G9 was briefly discussed in the pre-release thread. I really doubt it will have better performance compared to Dell though. It will also probably cost more (at comparing prices from previous years between Dell and HP). And IMO dell's support is way better. In addition it only offers 16" model, and it's also uglier than dell :D This isn't even mentioning what you already said about gpu and display refresh rate. So no, I personally can't consider it a worthy alternative.
  3. As far as I remember what this year has to offer, even if you were to lower some of these requirements, you'd still not find too many good options, especially if you're want a business workstation and not a pure gaming laptop. Say you're willing to go down to 3 NVMe slots or maybe max out at 64GB RAM, you're still not going to find anything better than Dell IMO. Congrats on finally getting your machine delivered :) I'm still waiting for my rep to come back to me... :D (summer holidays here)
  4. If I was getting 7670 and there were two 4K options , I'd probably go for WLED even if both had 60Hz, so for me personally I wouldn't call it a trade-off. I know OLED has come a long way, but I still don't completely trust these panels to not "burn-in" (out?) with time
  5. My rep tells me that Ti 3080 does not work with Linux. Has anyone actually tried that? Is this accurate information and should I consider A4500 instead? @Dell-Mano_G, maybe you could answer this? --- Also, the different warranty options always confused me. How is "ProSupport" different from "Basic OnSite" ? They're offering me 5y basic onsite support instead of 3y pro. Is this better or worse?
  6. That's a nice discount. And I think you got a pretty decent price overall for the top configuration. I wish I could buy from US at a similar price... :D I'm still waiting to hear back from my rep, but I'm now preparing to wait much more before buying this laptop. The price I'm getting on the website for a similar config to yours is north of 8k EUR. For some reason I'm not overly optimistic that my rep will knock off the price for it to get close to 6k (which is more or less what I was aiming for initially).
  7. I was getting the same 22nd August estimated delivery when entering zip code (via dell.no). But the "add to basket" was not active (although I didn't complete configuring the laptop since I'm not much interested in 7670 and might have missed some configurations or selected something incompatible like the i9)
  8. Samsung S22 Ultra. Hoping it will be a nice replacement for my Xiaomi Mi Mix3.
  9. Had to reinstall Linux OS so bumped to Ubuntu 22.04 while I was at it. More or less same as before, just in different colors. And I must say, the Nord palette is kind of growing on me. I even ended up forking the icons and re-doing them using nord colors :D
  10. I hope not :D I've stopped bugging my sales rep - he said he'll get back to me when he has any info, so I'm just training my patience skills :D But it depends why Lenovo is pushing it so far away. Are they having supply issues? And if so, which parts? It could potentially affect other manufacturers.
  11. In addition to what Aaron mentioned, in the past precision was said to have better build quality control. Also the keyboard, while looking the same, feels slightly different - precision has more "firmness" to it. I don't know if that's the case with latest models though, and the price difference is probably not worth it anyways if you're good with the rest of what XPS has to offer.
  12. I usually play multiplayer games with my work colleagues. And in this case I'm the only one who didn't get 'sea of thieves' last time it was on sale haha :D
  13. Pretty sure a lot of people have seen this already, but anyways, steam summer sale has started yesterday and will last for 2 weeks until 7th of July. Grab more games that you'll never have time to play I, for one, am thinking to get me some "Sea of thieves" (half off) and maybe "Dune" as well.
  14. Have you tried other DEs, like Gnome? I like KDE Plasma better, but I found that Gnome on average gives me less troubles. I think last time I tried KDE was when Ubuntu 20.04 came out, but I stumbled upon issues with getting openvpn client to work in network-manager properly and eventually gave up and moved back to Gnome. Another one worth mentioning is AutoHotKey , although it requires some "scripting" and might not be as user-friendly as the ones you mention. But it's been my go-to on Windows to both remap keys and assign custom shortcuts to actions.
  15. Wow, I'm not much for staying up to date with "latest and greatest in gaming", but this does look interesting. And it's Bethesda... so they deliver quite well IMO Now you make me rethink my video card choices for the upcoming laptop purchase
  16. Not sure that's possible, unless by "soon" you mean "never" I don't think there are any "perfect laptops" these days, unfortunately. But anyways, welcome to the forums and good luck with your hunt .
  17. I've also been considering P16, but it only has 2 SSD slots... When you say "linux support" , do you mean "how well the laptop itself supports linux" or "how proficient are support guys with linux"? To the former, I haven't owned 7xxx precision series previously, so this one will be my first. But I've had several 5xxx ones and I didn't experience any major or even medium problems when it comes to "hardware supporting linux" (I don't have/use fingreprint reader, so can't say about that, but as @Aaron44126 mentioned, it seems to be coming) When it comes to "dell's support peeps providing guidance to installing/operating/troubleshooting linux" ...I haven't really wondered about that before. I always thought of linux as "figure it out on your own" kind of thing. The question is, is it really better with Lenovo? Do they give you good support assistance in this regard? And does Lenovo's hardware support Linux at least as good as Dell's?
  18. So you don't need to tell them to actually book the machine for you and all, if you get a quote now? I've never ordered from dell before in a pre-launch stage via a sales rep. They give you a quote and you are able to pay for it right away and just wait? (Then I probably misunderstood what my rep told me about them "not being able to book the SKUs") and it does make sense to do it now. Do you need to take any "action" on the launch day? (What is behind "clicking go"? ) Or how does this work exactly? I suppose things are anyways a bit different this year since even they don't know the exact launch date...
  19. Got the same message from my rep today - orders are pushed to 21st. And while they can create quotes, they can't book anything until 21st unfortunately. Don't see much point in getting them to give me a quote in this case, so will just wait until then.
  20. Oh, nice to know. Oh yeah , definitely. On the plus side of this issue, it also made me actively look for a dell sales rep, whom I now found, so hopefully I'll be able to order/receive7770 a bit faster than I originally planned
