Whats wrong with the Cpu? Nice seeing the i9-13900HX boils near 100C. The Cpu temp target from Dell reached on first try? https://www.3dmark.com/compare/spy/36889484/spy/34714561/spy/32688188#

From what I have seen, there are different opinions about pre-heating before delidding. Have seen people said that the pre-heating can worsen the delidding job. I would do as I normally do. No use of heat. Just let the tool do the job Remeber what I said about the Rockitcool copper IHS size... More info here. And if you can... I only bought the 13900K for my hobby. But not needed. My 12900K was a nice sample. But my son enjoy it , so... Be careful with the voltage on the X3D Ryzen chips if you want to thinkering with the chips. They seems quite fragile. And once again a sloopy job done by AMD. They never stop amaze me. Their QC and QM is awful. -

(P-sp * 2 + E-sp) / 3 ~= Global SP. So I expect E-SP score is closer to 104. Bro Fox. Each tray cost $25.000 USD. And the benchers have access to at least 10 tray of them or $250.000 USD for the binning to find the Cpu they want for points on the bot. I only mentioned custom cooling because thats what you need with the Supercool direct-die cold plate🙂 Aka replacment for the Intel IHS. But this cold-plate is not a real IHS replacement as the Rockitcool copper IHS. -

I had this KS in my favorite basket a long time (the used market here home). But the $1,125 price tag wasn't very appealing. And I knew Intel would may make an 3rd binning of and make an Raptor lake refresh. But P-SP127 was quite good. If this was on the used market when I bought the 13900K last year I may have jumped on it, but not now so late in the Cpu cycle and close to a final refresh. You need custom cooling. -

Yep, they all have their shares of problems or bugs even engineering flaws. But this shoudn't happpen 4 or 5 months after release of brand new graphics cards. They could put the blame on that they don't make graphics cards anymore but that would be too stupid from an MB manufacturer😎 Neither should a brand as etc EVGA go cheapo and lock you out from oc'ing with the cheapest voltage controller aviable in the market. Not the fun experience I had with my EVGA GTX 760. If I know this I would never ever bought that card. Even if I paid half the price. And the bin quality for my 980 Kingpin is even worse than what you can find in the cheapest MSI card. Only saved by the unlocked XOC vbios and the better cooling. This is just sad. Yep, this just show how the tech world works. If they can... They all will go cheapo and don't want put much work into their overpriced hardware. Shame on them. Even the best warranty on earth can't fix flawed design made with intent. I hate it when the best tech companies sometimes offer HW on level with the worst from Dell. Thats bad, Very bad. And not good for the consumers. -

Thats nice👍 All systems I have seen with 6900XT and Win 7 is with ASUS boards. Sad EVGA haven't fixed this. But this is not the only problem with the best board from EVGA. They even struggle have compatibility with some 4090 graphics cards. And same for the Z790 as with the older Z690. It rubs me the wrong way when I hear something like this with boards solely meant for OC'ing. -

Everything is wrong with the new and shiny from Redmond. One of many https://www.tomshardware.com/news/windows-11-update-slows-ssd-storage https://www.techspot.com/news/97973-latest-windows-11-update-causing-slows-ssds-wifi.html For 4080 and 13900K see if you can find some reviews. They normally post both stock and oc’d performance. And 4080 ain’t so popular so better look on reviews. -

No ugly brown fans here. Just plain black beauty. Only the greeen MB PCB from Dell destroy some of the nice black look🙂 Cable management right from bro @electrosoft book. Can't be done easier than this. No need for a modern backside chamber for the cables. You just have to show your gears😎 So this is not any different than that you show of your new fancy modern box with all the bling bling aRGB lighs and show from fans, cooler head and cables. And Yup, this comes with real black fans. Dell use same old fashion fans and cooling even for their computers in 2023. So this has to be modern and classic. I enjoy a lot of the old. Sometimes more fun thinkering with the older than the new fancy expensive and modern. The best of all... You can run Win 7 on the old. Can't beat unisex systems bro @Mr. Fox🙂 -

You just can't use a Riser cable mount with this in your chassis. Why is it so damn difficult make black fans in 2023? $450 premium for this. You even get one fan less than many other models and still have to pay more. And you won't gain any performance increaase. This is robbery of worst sorts. -

If he wait for the refresh of the refresh of the refresh of Intel mainstream chips maybe he will love the intel IMC😀 Intel isn't finished the binning of todays silicon. The KS (special Edition) will be shortlived. Intel Raptor Lake Refresh reportedly launching in Q3/Q4 2023 with enough performance to "tread water against Ryzen 7000" ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Will anyone pay $1,650 for this brown ugly and massive overpriced 4080 card? The vanilla 4080 is already disgusting priced at MSRP. Slightly quieter at the cost of higher temps. And the card come with the quiet vbios set as default. This brownish Asus 4080 cost equal as a 4090 FE. Are gamers this stupid? @Mr. Fox Or just ignorant? Or can they be both? I know @electrosoftgo after most quiet hardware, but I don't think he would pay for this Asus tragedy. Not many models is uglyer than this. It seems Nvidias partners can design whatever they prefer and people will still be happy with how it looks. Again... Why would anyone pay $450 above a 4080FE for same class GPU? Is the poop brown colored fans so fantastic and a must have? I don't get it. Yep. I wasn't keen on pay well over $500 for any screens. Got two of these ASUS ROG Strix XG27AQ 27" Monitor for 2x $416 for (my son and me last Christmas). He have the 3070 so not the need for 4K and me struggling with my eyes with something like 4K on sub 32" panels. This was probably one of the better deals here home. Prices went up again and now well over $500. And this isn't even the newest screen tech. Its what it is. You got a very good deal bro John 🙂 Holy crap batman....You just described what I go through on a daily basis with this build. Constantly having to do chkdsk on the Windows 10 install. AMD systems looks fun to deal with... Play safe... Use an old GPU and old graphics driver, LOOL -

Its already tested that the slighly bigger surface on some custom IHS don't provide better results. And the difference in size area isn't that big. I prefer the orginal lid if I use the Cpu in desktops. Also in LGA laptops if the mounting pressure was good enough. But that's not the case for laptops. Hence a thicker custom lid works best in LGA laptops. How is the temp spread within the cores? And can the CPU run within 13900K PL2 specs (253w)? -

The EK-Quantum Velocity² IHS Removal Tool is fragile. And you need more tries to get of the lid. In the process you break the the tool and make it useless afterwards. You can't sell it and you risk have to pop of the lid with a another tool. The EK-Quantum Velocity² IHS Removal Tool is better for the 12th gen that have the caps around the die. And the 12th gen is easier to pop of the lid. Edit. The der8auer EK delidder work the opposite way of etc Rockit-cool delidder. None is happy with the EK quality of the delidder. -

Nope. Not delidded. This 13900K and motherboard will be sold on the used market here home. None buy delidded Cpu's. They want warranty over better temps. The 9% larger contact area is just dumb. You won't gain anything from this. The orginal Intel lid is prefered for desktops. Custom IHS if slightly higher is prefered for LGA laptops. From what I have seen... The der8auer branded EKWB delidder is weak and will break in pieces. A fragile Alu piece of metal. Some need to try delidde the Cpu +5 times and the delidder is useless afterwards. If you was lucky enough to fix the delidde before it breaks in pieces. The (der8auer branded) EKWB delidder is prefered I think for use with 12th gen due the caps around the die. -

I think it's intentional to circumvent one of Nvidia's locks. But weird nothing was in the Kingpin thread. I think Kingpin himself or his workers did the mod. Who else? Rare I have problem with System info. Could be the combo with the trash software and your graphics card. Sometimes it seems the load from that monitor software tax the Cpu more than the Physics test, LOOL 2nd 3DM 11 Entry - GTX 980 https://hwbot.org/submission/5230214_papusan_3dmark11___entry_geforce_gtx_980_37654_marks https://hwbot.org/submission/5230220_papusan_3dmark11___extreme_geforce_gtx_980_8672_marks -

Try with the old fashion DVI cable or just us an adapter plug from HDMI/displayport to DVI. My Kingpin card refused to use HDMI/displayport with the XOC vbios. Windows 11 is awful for older benchmarks. And the Cpu performance is important for this benchmark. You have below 4000 series graphics card and can choose whatever Windows OS you want to run. Newer has to be better, LOOL
