Yup. Only the 4090 are able to keep up it's value. We will see what happens closer to Christmas holidays. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ intel XMPs and motherboard QVLs are a useless mess. The QVL list will never be correct as long the testers (elite benchers) at the different brands continue use binned hardware in their testing and validating of firmware. Once again why use binned HW? So the brand can brag about unreliable results that are not rooted in reality. Only to sell overpriced HW. See from 10:15 -

Yup. And Gamers Nexus have tested their lower end SKU as 4080. Once again wasted opportunity to offer something spectacular or wonderful for the enhusiasts. Just another abortion for the gamer kids but in another design shape. The extra added fans is just an gimic and offer no value. The final conclusion... Not worth buying. MSI could offer a new 4090 Lightning. But nope. They are more hunged up in gamer gears. Here's another brand that offer no value. Only disgusting prices..... RTX 4090 Five-Fan GPU RTX 4090 Launches For $1,999Oversized, overengineered, and overpriced Being a Chinese company, Maxsun makes no secret that its GeForce RTX 4090 MegaGamer OC will not be available globally. See the Grey box. Asus saw their chance with the Matrix. But this card is only meant as a pretty collector edition card sold in 2000 items at double the MSRP. So in short not an option as a new Kingpin substitute. In short. Only Galax, Asus and MSI can push out real o'cing cards... If they bother do so. Asus have failed become the new EVGA. Colorful have one variant that can compete in the Kingpin league, but very few amount cards and only for the Asian market. + they offer only custom XOC vbios and XOX software for the very few "choosen one". -

If you get a Zotac 4090 card then you are screwed. Be sure you check if your prefered 4090 is supported with the EVGA boards. Not sure about the lower Nvidia SKUs. Neither do I know if every AIB models of the newest Radeon cards is supported. -

Cute new names.... As etc Ti Super. What a <<<joke. Hmmm. How will this affect the shortage of 4090 ? And what with the prices? @electrosoft @Mr. Fox U.S. Govt Restricts Shipments of GeForce RTX 4090 to China, Other Countries Starting from November 16, 2023, Nvidia will be unable to ship its A100, A800, H100, H800, L40, L40S, and GeForce RTX 4090 cards and modules for AI and HPC computing to China, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and Vietnam without an export license from the U.S. Department of Commerce's Bureau of Industry and Security. Transferring production to Taiwan is perhaps not a problem for the vast majority of brands as the vast majority of them are headquartered in Taiwan. There is one big exception, though. Colorful, which is one of Nvidia's major customers and which happens to be one of the world's largest makers of graphics cards, only operates in China. It is possible that Nvidia will attempt to supply as many AD102 GPUs to its partner as possible in the coming weeks, though it remains to be seen how this affects the supply of GeForce RTX 4090 products in other countries. In fact, the restrictions are so severe that shipments of Nvidia's AD102 processors are also restricted, which may have an impact on the supply of GeForce RTX 4090 graphics cards. U.S. to restrict shipment of NVIDIA H800 and RTX 4090 GPUs to China videocardz.com NVIDIA is now confronted with a significant challenge, particularly concerning its consumer-grade RTX 4090 series. There are numerous companies in China involved in the final packaging of these cards, and many board partners exclusively operate in this country. It’s worth noting that the new set of requirements is set to take effect in just 29 days, which means that NVIDIA has a relatively short window to address and adapt to these regulatory changes. Nvidia stock falls after US government restricts export of H800, A800, and RTX 4090 to China Nvidia's previously skyrocketing stock has fallen almost 5% following news that the US government has extended its ban on chip exports to China. Team Green will no longer be able to sell its A800 and H800 GPUs to entities within the Asian nation, and even the RTX 4090 falls under the new rules. -

A better review from Techpowerup..... But yep... Intel put the standard regarding power hog😀 https://www.techpowerup.com/review/intel-core-i9-14900k/23.html Maybe. But it could also mean Asus have done it for the different Asus Z790 boards. You have the Apex (their OC board). Edit. See bro @Falkentyne's post here https://www.overclock.net/threads/official-asus-strix-maximus-z790-owners-thread.1800191/post-29247975 I know what you're talking about. Back to the 'Raptor refresh...... Anyone have seen this disgusting behaviour? @Mr. Fox Look at this beauty. Both from Redmond and Asus. If this is correct. Then why make these changes in the firmware? Slower than a year ago: BIOS, Windows? Mitigations? In the test of the three new K-CPUs of the 14th generation Core, the behavior was noticeable again - clearly: Core i9-14900K and Core 5-14600K were no faster in applications than their predecessors, which were released in autumn 2022 on the then current BIOS and Windows 11 were measured. Lo and behold, when the Core i9-13900K and Core i5-13600K were re-measured on the same current platform using the same CPUs used a year ago, they were 2 to 3 percent slower. An influence from other settings can be ruled out. The cause must be found in the BIOS, in any “mitigations” against known CPU security gaps via the microcode or via Windows updates or in Windows itself. What led to this could not be determined in such a short time, but all three old K-CPUs were run through the application course again for a perfect comparison. The new measurement results are marked “10/2023”, but the old ones from the end of 2022 are still included. Asus controls the 13th and 14th Gen differently Another noticeable feature concerns the BIOS 1303 for the Asus ROG Z790 Maximus Hero: It controls CPUs of the 13th Gen Core in the “Auto” setting for the performance limits PL1 (“Processor Base Power” = PBP = long-term limit) that is active as standard at the factory. and PL2 (“Multi Turbo Power” = MTP = short-term limit) does not start with PL1 = PL2 = Auto = 4,095 watts as before, but sets PL1 to the 253 watts specified by Intel - this value applies after 96 seconds. The new core CPUs of the 14th generation are addressed as usual - albeit outside the official specifications - with PL1 = PL2 = Auto = 4,095 watts. i9-14900K, i7-14700K & i5-14600K in the test: The last core CPUs of their kind against AMD Ryzen 7000 computerbase.com -

You need new ram for the new board😁 But as usual... Expect they don't come for cheap. Here we go.... Test : Intel i9-14900K, i7-14700K et i5-14600K overclocking.com https://overclocking.com/test-intel-i9-14900k-i7-14700k-et-i5-14600k/ The final word : You will have understood, we were not excited by this 14th generation and that is quite logical since it is only a refresh. It's difficult to recommend these processors if you are already equipped with a 13th generation CPU, especially since the socket of the next motherboards may also change. Now, if you are switching to the LGA-1700 socket for the first time , then look at the price differences between these two generations of processors and opt for the best performance/price ratio. -

Be happy you don't live in U.K or in the colder and rainy place long up here in the North 🙂 Retail in U.K want $915.21 USD. Or you better say you have to pay 41% above your U.S friends. Some are blessed with less greedy Governments and less greedy retail shops. https://www.scan.co.uk/products/asus-rog-maximus-z790-apex-encore-intel-z790-s-1700-ddr5-pcie-50-5x-m2-25gbe-wifi-7-atx Or an 12900K and you need the 45-50% higher multi threaded performance. But if you want an very snappy Cpu then keep your older 10th or 11th gen Cpu. That one's will serve you better🙂 -

From 11:08 https://www.overclock.net/threads/official-asus-strix-maximus-z790-owners-thread.1800191/post-29247416 I guess an ok'ish upgrade if you lost in the silicon lottery for 13900K or have an 12900K to max out the upgrade path for socket 1700. Cheaper than 13900KS is still something...... -

I don't think 14700K with 4 more e-cores and slightly higher boost clocks will be easier to cool down than the 13700K. Just look at the 13700K review from Techpowerup https://www.techpowerup.com/review/intel-core-i7-13700k/23.html ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 14900K 100MHz higher clock vs 13900KS with same voltage. Right now. All of the 14900K/KF is sold out here home🙂 And for the records... The 14th gen chips got an nice discount under launch day here home. That probably also helped to sell out on first day. And it seems nvidia also have no problem get rid of their 4090's......... Nvidia RTX 4090 Prices Have Been Creeping Upward Despite being Nvidia's most expensive consumer graphics card, demand for the RTX 4090 apparently remains high, and we've noticed that the Founders Edition model is routinely going out of stock regularly. It's the fastest card in our list of the best graphics cards, but for most of the past year it has been available at or just under MSRP. Now that's no longer true, as prices of AIB partner RTX 4090 cards have increased by $50 over the past month. At present, the least expensive 4090 cards we can find in stock cost $1,654.99 from Amazon or $1,649.99 at Newegg. Faulty 12VHPWR Adapter (v1.1) -

Test: Intel 13th Gen on the ROG Maximus Z790 APEX Encore overclocking.com Not much added features.... A mem fan kit that is oriented wrong vs the mem sticks placement. But I like the change going back to black. DIMM Flex uses a thermal sensor installed on the back of the PCB under the memory modules as well as a controller to monitor temperatures. Depending on this, you can pre-define three profiles. When the temperature increases, you will move from profile 1 to 2, or even to 3 if necessary. If your kit is compatible then the option will be available within the BIOS. You can already take a look at the video posted by the ASUS team on this new option. We will come back in more detail on this option during our overclocking tests with this ROG Maximus Z790 APEX Encore. Finally, there remains one option but which we cannot yet talk about since it is particularly related to the 14th generation processors. Still a little patience. You can find Asus Rog Max Z790 Apex Encore on Asus webpage now... https://rog.asus.com/motherboards/rog-maximus/rog-maximus-z790-apex-encore/spec/ -

Step two. Ordered the 14900K. Only 3 stock left now 🙂 7790,- nok = $711 USD or $569 without tax. So cheaper than Intel's $589 MSRP without the Norwegian tax. Will arrive Papusan's plaza between 18-24 October. Yep that's good news. In facts $569 without the dreaded Norwegian tax means cheaper than Intel's MSRP 🙂 And this in the hight cost country as Norway. Edit. The only difference between 14900K vs 13900KS I can spot is the one bin higher clocks on the baby cores. Yup, Intel know how to milk. -
