True. Plus the massive power supply you would need to run it all. But imagine the power! Would be fun! What kind of heat does one push?
-
Ahhhh gotcha. I cannot help in that regard. I would figure if they can be linked they would be designed correctly to take advantage of the slots available too.

If you had a good case, Can't see why note. Make sure to have alot of fans blowing into the case from the front and all should be fine. I was going to use two 2070 supers until I found out that Arc 770 will mop the floor with most anything for the work I am doing. Who knows...But I think you should be fine running two if you have the room in the case.
-
The price of the 770 is not bad at all. I use it only for video/photo/graphics work and from what I have seen, pairing it, with a 13900k would be a complete beast of a system for doing that work.

The first Gunner Arc A380 card in MXM format has been released
kojack replied to Komputers-Best's topic in Graphics Cards
Will this setup be able to do hyperencoding like the desktop systems can do? -
I just watched a video on the new Arc 770x where they used Davinci Resolve with proper drivers/encoders/etc for intel. It flattend a 3060 with almost 45fps more exporting speed. It's not great for gamers, but for us creators, it's going to be a great platform because it takes advantage of the igpu onboard of the processor and both work together in both encoding and decoding. All other nvidia and ATI (or whatever they are now), use the igpu for one thing and the gpu for the other. Intel uses both for both and it works. Like I said, it's a card that's slow for gaming, like most people here use it for, but for creation, it works great! I also noticed that it's very power efficient as well. If Canada Computers website is correct, the Arc draws 225w where as the 4080ti I could find, is drawing a max of 750w ( am not sure on this number, it seems high, but I do know they are very power hungry).

Wondering if I can run dual 2070 supers in a connected setup?
kojack replied to kojack's topic in Graphics Cards
I am sure resolve supports multiple Gpus as Puget sells resolve systems with dual and triple gpu setups. I think my 2070 super in my dell now supports (sli) or whatever it is. So, I should be good if I grab a second just like that one. I think they go for cheaper since they are pulled from dell systems. I will be looking more into this in the next month as I have some new assignments where I will be doing more content creation. I just hooked one with a major Fujifilm source so I have to start in now. Once rolling if I feel I need a bit of extra ommmppph from my system, I will get the dual gpu, and asus board setup and forward my son his new Dell XPS! On a somewhat unrelated question, Have you seen or heard of an eGpu enclosure that also has space for a HDD? I think for when we are travelling I may load one into the camper and have it there for when we are creating while mobile. -
Since I am mostly into graphics, photo and video editing with my systems, the lack of DirectX on linux distros make them much slower for doing graphics/video and photo editing work from what I have been witnessing. There are numerous videos and articles discussing this. Too bad too, because I would enjoy some of them I think.
-
Besides the form factor, both my systems are setup exactly the same. I have all the same software on my desktop and laptop, and I also have dual monitors for my laptop for editing video on the road! I have dual SSD in an enclosure as well for scratch and project drives while using resolve. It's a neat thing to sit at a desk or table while mobile, and have the exact same (albeit a little slower,) experience with my notebook as I do with my workstation at home.

Not worth the hassle for sure. thanks for the information.

Core 2 duo CPU upgrade in my acer aspire 7720? What is the max?
kojack replied to kojack's topic in Components & Upgrades
I think I found out that the t9500 is the fastest this system will acknowledge. I still need to find the HD screen for it too. The ram and keyboard are easy to get, but the screen, I have to make sure I buy the correct one. -
I am starting to become interested in linux distros. I am wondering what is everyones favorite distros. I am liking the visuals on garuda and zorin. Both are vastly different but really cool at the same time.

I would be down with that. I am in the process of looking for my old P2 system I had put away for vintage 3.5" floppy games and games from the sierra namesake. Got to love those.

If you knew why I have to use an iPhone, maybe you would have a different opinion WHY I use an iPhone. don't be so quick to Jump on that. I do hate apple and their policies. However, the reason I use an iPhone have nothing to do with apple, and everything to do with something else.

Not from the OS/programs drive. it would be from other drives to other drives.

As a father of two, I know that if he just had a baby, the last thing on his mind is NBT! He will be back soon!

I am working on getting a 2011 Jeep Wrangler unlimited. I am talking to the dealer that has it tomorrow morning. It would be my 3rd wrangler and 2nd 2011. I want it bad. It's the best vehicle for me. I hate not having one in my driveway.

I am looking at swapping to the asus proart z490 board, for my i7 processor. It has 3 or 4 SSD ports onboard. Is there any benefit in running two of them in raid, anymore? Or are we past the point of noticing any difference?

Caps lock was used correctly in that case. The amount of lunacy going on these days is just wacky. The government is not following everyone around watching every little thing you do. Simple...UNLESS, you are doing shady shit. simple. I don't care if they do to be honest. Don't bother me in the least. They will see I go in the woods camping alot, mountain biking, snowboarding and enjoying legal "products". simple. I dont give a crap either way, but I can assure you they are not following everyone around.

Why are you using computers the internet and all this stuff? Seems like you are complaining about something then doing that thing you are so worried about them doing. That's not SPYING. That's morons hacking shit. COMPLETELY different. STOLEN is the Key word here. The government is not following people around and listening to your every word. TINFOIL HATS PLEASE.

Living in fear of government watching you 24/7 (which they are NOT doing btw) is a whole lot worse. Think they are watching you all the time? you must be up to some shady crap!
