  1. Say it ain't so. I called that out years ago on the other forum. Tongfang are not the be all end all, not even by a long shot.
  2. Well both my wife and I are re configuring our workspaces now and we are replacing our monitors with a 32 inch 4k for her and I am getting a 43 inch 4k with HDR10 for photo/video/graphics. I had my dual monitor setup on a different desk. It worked better there. As one monitor was in front of me and the other was off to the side a bit. now, both are in front of me and doing productivity work like writing, spreadsheets, etc is more uncomfortable as I have to look to the side and I cannot have the application right in front of me. I will give a report on the wife's setup first as I can get her display today in town. Mine is coming from amazon so I have to wait for a bit on that one. Anyone want to buy a 24" dell ultrasharp? I also have an HP 22" ips that wifey is using currently. My ultrasharp 24" touchscreen will be going to my son for his computer.
  3. I think my xeon chipped little server will be fine hardware wise. As long as it will recognize the pci e nvme card. I want to put the OS on an ssd then have 4 drives for storage.
  4. I will post photos when my music room/studio is back to working order after the sewer backup. I can post a list of my gear now...I would love to see everyones! My gear is as follows. - squier classic vibe 60s FSR strat in lake placid blue, modified with Vineham blk1 pickups. (custom one off set made for me by Craig) - squier deluxe strat in pearl white with GFS double stacked hot pickups and preamp in tone 2 location and pickup toggle to run 3 pickups together. - squier classic vibe 60s FSR tele with vineham custom tele pickups and 5 way toggle mod. - fender professional strat - stock - no need for any changes with this one. olive green with maple fretboard - vester acoustic martin copy. This one was rescued from a house fire. I used to own a fire/water restoration company and this one came to us as salvage. I went to work repairing it and it's my favorite acoustic in my collection - Takamine G series cutaway drednaught. - Takamine Jasmine series no cutaway. This one plays better than 3/4 of the multi thousand dollar taks I have played - squier mini strat (my son's little screamer guitar). - Yamaha ds series 12 string. Wonderful sounding guitar. - fender mustang GTX 100 amp - Fender Mustang 3 in custom built cabinet and 2 12 inch speakers - fender mustang 1 in custom cabinet with 2 10 inch speakers - line 6 spider 5 mk2 60w - line 6 pod go - Hohner vintage two level organ with Leslie speaker etc (needs a bit of work to bring back to perfect) - Yamaha clavanova electric piano - Yamaha prs synth midi'ed to PC for infinite sounds. Some other stuff I am forgetting... Give the list of your gear and photos!
  5. why not just do a mobo replacement. Quick easy fix. You still have your machine for sentimental value, and it works again.
  6. I have my old dell 5368 2 in 1 and I am thinking about repairing the screen and firing it up to test linux distros. I will install 16gb of ram and a 512gb ssd back into it. I want to play with linux and all that free software. But I don't want to use my main systems.
  7. I have been doing alot of reading etc about doing this system. TrueNAS is an open source software package that I think will create the raid array for me. No limitation. I am going to be adding a 256gb ssd on a PCI adapter (if I can) for OS, so my 4 hotswaps are Nothing but storage. I am adding 16gb of ram to it, and I need to cut a hole in the back of the case to mount the 120mm arctic cooling fan I have. I had bought 2 120mm fans for a project build and the case had provisions for 92mm and I didn't notice. So, I have two of these fans. One will be used on this system, the other will be sold. This project will be moving along quickly now, I almost have my new office setup done and I am putting the editing system in it's new home today.
  8. I am looking at adding an ssd for OS use in my little acer. Can I use a PCI-E adapter to put an ssd in it and use for OS/Boot drive? Then, I would use the 4 hotswaps for storage. UGREEN NVMe PCIe Adapter, M.2 SSD M Key and M&B Key to PCIe 4.0 Adapter X4/X8/X16 Slot Card with Heat Sink, Up to 64Gbps Max, Size for NVMe M.2 SSD 2230/2242/2260/2280 : Amazon.ca: Electronics
  9. I am looking at installing this on my acer server and just make it a NAS box. Anyone have any thoughts or experience with this OS/Software? TrueNAS CORE | The World's Most Popular Open Storage OS
  10. It's also known as Tom Ford strain. It's an indica dominant hybrid strain. REALLY good and relaxing. I use a vaporizer for my flower, so one full 5:00 run in the vape, and I am sittin down, listening to tunes or watching tv/movies and just zen!
  11. the wrangler fell through. It was a POS. I think we have decided to get an outback and lift that instead.
  12. Oh, and the previous new purchase was this...ha ha...
  13. Just bought a new TFal xxl airfryer and instapot for food prep. Make things easier when working. The air fryer is running right now with two seasoned chicken breasts in it. We will find out how they are in 15 min! Will report back.
  14. the android tablet experience has improved ALOT. I always liked it. The S6 lite is a much better value than the 10th gen iPad. I don't have the cool new Apple multitasking, side car if you use it, pencil is 100 bucks extra and I had to pay much more to get extra storage. I do get imessage and facetime on it which is two of the main reasons I wanted it, plus some apps are just more "polished" on apples side. I do wish that the EU forces apple to open up their software to others (imessage, facetime, news+ and others). I will pay for the use, but I would never own an apple device again!
  15. Yeah, the s6 lite is a great tablet. It's right there with my 10th gen iPad actually. I would choose either. Just I got a deal on 2 iPads at work so we jumped on them. We use them as content consumption devices.
  16. I am a 10 hit wonder. On the 510 vape. Ha ha. I was off in SPACE!
  17. Wow, learn something new. I have seen LTT called LT..... as for the sleep...GO WATCH THE VIDEO.... Here I will link it so you do have to hunt for it. It's not as simple as re installing a driver. that's not the issue.
  18. When you hit sleep on the power menu when you are plugged in your pc stays "awake" doing more processes in the background than when you hit sleep while unplugged. Linus toravids and LTT are the same guy. Go watch the video....it explains their findings. No, this is not how windows is supposed to work, but thats how it does for now, until microsoft fixed this small issue. Once you know about it, unplug, then put the pc in sleep and it will sleep and not cook your backpack.
  19. Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds - The Beatles! Best band EVER! Really great while riding a 420 cloud!
  20. This is not linux. Also, I am not sure of the reasoning. Linus and crew deducted this is how windows sleeps. Different stages using different power delivery methods. I think something is screwed up in the programming of said feature.
  21. Linus did a video awhile back on this very topic. When plugged in, the device does not "sleep" per se, it just shuts off the screen etc. When unplugged, it will properly sleep. So if you need sleep, unplug first then goto sleep.
  22. Those numbers are on wireless? I am getting crap numbers on my dell. I need to get a new wireless card installed in this pronto! EDIT: Just looked, I have an ax201. I am going to replace it with the AX210 and see what happens.
  23. unplug both laptops and see what happens. Is AMD still throttling everything as soon as the power is removed or did that fix that nonsense?
  24. Ha ha, Can't even remember that. that's how much I hold on to things...all good!
  25. Tv's, streaming boxes, phones, pcs, ipads, connected home devices etc. It does not take long to add up buddy! Hell I have around 15 computers alone all on the network now!
