  1. You are like me. I WANT to use their stuff as it is great for my use case. However, I am very scared because of my previous experience with them. I hope they shape up now. I would love to have a complete pro art setup for us.
  2. I was somewhat confused with your comment if it was legit or a dig at me...that's all. If was the former, I appolgise! Music production is fun and a great way to generate income.
  3. That's it. I worked my entire life from the time I was 16, and it's time to start spending time with my family. We have the income right now to do it...Nice dig btw.
  4. I was thinking of the biggest xeon. I am flip flopping, of course on just using the pro art z790 board again now. I want the beast, but I LOVE LOVE LOVE that fractal north case and that keeps drawing me in to have a modern wooden trimmed case on my workstation. We are building a new studio here on the property about 14x18 with all our creative gear in it. It will be a workspace for my family to create and enjoy together. We are bringing elements of wood, metal and soft textures to the inside of the building to make it a relaxing enjoyable space. My wife and I are going to have matching workstations so, the North case is the logical choice. Her computer will not have as powerful internals as mine but it will basically look the same but hers will be the white model and mine will be the black. We will have a filming section with nice sofa and lighting to give a truly professional feel to our work, and when clients come into the studio they have a nice comfortable place to talk and relax as well. We will have our notebooks for working on the road when we go and work at our workstations when home. It's been a long drawn-out process to get all our stuff up and running. But the finish line is about 3 months off. I have gotten my schedule at Bell changed to 6 on / 8 off in order to focus my time more on my family and our work moving forward. It's coming together but slowly. I will have pics of some stuff soon!
  5. Wow, I will fire mine up on my tablet and see what gives. I don't use tables and stuff in onenote, but I will try to see if I can add it. Report back. I will also try it on my iPad too!
  6. Agreed. I cannot stand lights flashing everywhere all the time. Plus, 99 percent of the case designs look like a transformer helmet. My lowly old inspiron looks clean, and does it's job. I do wish I had a dedicated graphics card in it for a little bit faster 4k rendering in resolve and other programs like that, but when I am mobile it does it's job, without looking like an anime cartoon.
  7. Not so, They have been doing this for years. It's just now that Gamers Nexus and a few others are calling them out that they are changing their ways.
  8. I thought OneNote on my Motorola phone was quite good. Funny how other people view apps. I just got my son a new 9th gen iPad to replace his 6th gen. It's quite a bit bigger than I thought it would be. He's enjoying that as well.
  9. I was looking at finsix previously but it's looks as if they are gone awol, and the few available on ebay want 185 dollars shipping. Everything available now are USB C chargers, I need the Dell barrel charger end as well.
  10. I purchased a CYD travel charger for my dell notebook, and it works great. I want two more for my wife's and son's notebooks now. the same plug at the end etc. But they are not listed on amazon anymore. Anyone know of a good quality travel charger that is similar to mine now? just a wall wart and single cord, unlike the regular charger that is two cables and a big block. thanks!
  11. Yeah. I hope they honor warranties. I would have everything asus as I like their ideas. But I had a bad experience and it seems that I am not alone in that when it comes to warranty. Let hope we see a reversal soon and I can happily buy their stuff.
  12. So, a bunch of high profile people on YouTube have been calling out Asus for their handling of the AMD chip motherboard issues. They have settings that cook the chips, and destroy the motherboards, then refuse to warranty said motherboards claiming it was user error. Now that they are called out on their BS, do you think that they will start taking their warranties more seriously? What's everyone's thoughts on this? If they did, I would have everything Asus in my studio.
  13. Razer has great notebooks that fill the bill for you as well. They are clean looking too; they do not look like the majority of the "Optimus Prime Helmet" gaming systems available now.
  14. I know I can spend 20k, but for that 20k it will mop the floor with the mac pro for 70k Cdn. I am going to put a build sheet together. I am first looking for a tower that takes dual PSUs, and will house multiple drives and video cards without issue. That's the first item and then move on from there. Finding the cpu in Canada is another issue I will have to contend with.
  15. Going to be pushing 6k timelines through it. I want to just build the biggest beast I can build. Dual power supplies, BIG tower, A load of drives inside. I am ramping up work now.
  16. I am thinking about going balls to the walls for a workstation system. I want to base this system off the Asus (going against my better judgement) WS W690-Sage SE board as a starting point. Seeing as I have my dell maxed out inside and I am afraid to add anything more powerful because of PSU limitations, I am going to build a new beast for myself. Stay tuned for parts ideas!
  17. What about this? Think I could get the PSU out of this system, and install in mine? Dell XPS Desktop - Computer Desktops | Dell Canada They have a 1000w PSU in the xps tower now with the 13th gen intel and 4090 gpu.
  18. ok, I bow out now. calling in the calvary hey? SMDH.....🥱 It's like talking to a brick. The Intel systems were just as fast, if not faster than the amd systems in the comparison. but no problem. fanboy out and ignore the facts. Typical. take r easy.
  19. Again, Here is more information. AS YOU CAN CLEARLY SEE, once unplugged, the AMD system falls flat on it's face where as the intel system keeps it full speed until thermal throttling kicks in....NOT the same at all. And, NO, the intel system does not drop power when unplugged. AMD reduces the power to every component as soon as you pull the plug. Intel will reduce the power going to the CPU when a temperature threshold is met. The ram, ssd, gpu remains at full power. AMD reduces power to EVERY COMPONENT as soon as you pull out the AC adapter. I know alot of people are amd fanboys, but seriously? you would rather this than use and intel based system?
  20. You, and many other miss the point. AMD throttles EVERYTHING. CPU, GPU, ram, SSD, etc. Intel does not....hence the speeds are same on ac or dc. AMD does this to try to get battery life near what intel does. This is the only way they can do it. It's not thermal throttling like my notebook does. I have read plenty about this. Its you, obviously who did not. You didn't even read the information on the graph that was put up. Only pull a "note" from some place showing something or other without any evidence.
  21. If you want performance on battery, run, very fast away from AMD. They throttle the entire pc to try to get as good battery life as an intel based system. That means they reduce speeds of SSD, Memory, GPU and CPU. If you unplug an intel system, you only get performance throttling from overheating, if it throttles at all. So, that may be a consideration to look at as well. Here is a graph showing pluged in (AC) performance (both systems are so close in performance you would not see a difference), then, it shows unplugged performance on battery (DC). The AMD falls flat on its face where the intel keeps it full power on battery.
  22. Been using Phone Link constantly since I have connected it. It works awesome. As I mentioned before, I don't care about transferring files, photos etc as I am full Microsoft on my mobile devices anyways. But, being about to message from my PC's is a great time saver, and it works awesome. My phone is on charge in my office, and my notebook, which I am typing on right now is in our family room and I can message using my phone from here. Wonderful!
  23. I am not sure on DEX. But for phone link, remove your computer and phone from each other's Bluetooth, turn off both Bluetooth adapters for a min, turn both back on then pair via the phone link app. Worked for me on both systems.
  24. No, My last ipad was a 6th gen. So a 9th gen with a slightly slower processor ha ha. The 10th gen is a great iPad. It's a slippery devil though so a case is a must. I bought the Logitech keyboard for it as well. Makes it a better productivity tool, but does not hold a candle in any way to my windows systems. I recommend one though for content consumption and basic use.
  25. Got it figured out. Had to forget the devices in Bluetooth settings. It works great now.
