  1. I remember it working fine on my older version of W10 LTSC but I only have an older version that just gets to the start up screen and does nothing so I didn't know if it was updated. I'll check to see if Asrock configurator at least can get going.
  2. Set to stock (not XMP) and keep binning up till your traces/MB/Memory (or thee above) give up the ghost. When you reach a frequency it balks at, up the Vmem/VCCSA. Use TM5 as a quick check for stability at each interval. Once you've established your motherboard's maximum frequency support then start dialing in timings adjusting each setting and retesting. That is what I learned on my P870TM1-G (courtesy of @jc_denton and @johnksss) and translated it to the X170SM. They helped a lot.
  3. What is the newest version of Mem Tweakit out right now and equally important where?
  4. Oh so barrel not din. I wonder how a Dell 330w adapter would fair (have those too) since it uses a barrel connector. It should definitely clock up higher. When running CB23 what flags trip? Thermal? Power? Both. According to cpu-monkey (barf) you should be getting ~1988 single, ~26400 multi for CB23. Odd that it wouldn't go past 3.8 even if briefly?
  5. Wow, Blue Bell vanilla and cookies and cream are not only mine but my brother's favorite too. For a spell, it disappeared from our local shelves for months on end a few years ago and weren't happy campers. I've never tried their butter crunch...hmmmmm.
  6. Since eurocom will spec this up to a 12900k, I wonder if that model has a beefier HS? Or did they scale down the prototype shown before since that model was all copper and the CPU only had a 3 position (tri-fail) securing/pairing system versus the shipping 4 post. This to me would be my ideal order for one. I have numerous AX210's around the abode and I definitely would not want the physical HDD:
  7. I'm glad they went back to the barrel connector. That means any clevo barrel PSU should work. I have a few 330w PSUs sitting around I would try with one to see if the power limits increase at least or how it performs with GPU and CPU under load because 140w 3070ti + 125w CPU definitely exceeds the stock PSU. Your 11900k was able to out muscle it a bit pushing 4.4-4.5+ all core overcoming the IPC deficit. Depending on temps, you can start to create a picture of what you would need to get a 12900k going in there and how far it would go. I think single you will (or should) get up to 4.8+. What were the temps like versus with e-cores enabled? With e-cores enabled, did the P-cores still boost to 3.8 all core or were they lower? If with the e cores enabled or disabled you're topping out at 3.8 on the p-cores then that may be the limit for the non-k 12900 all core.
  8. NBR didn't die because of moderation nor polarizing opinions. Forums in general are down as the overall methods of communication and interaction evolve and change. Nothing stopped visitors from coming to NBR and some forums were very active (Alienware / Dell especially). Forums cost money to run and there was no longer an upside for the parent company to keep it going. The bean counters deemed it expendable. We happen to have carved out a nice little floating rock in their space with this forum and we were lucky enough to have one forum alternative emerge, persist and thrive that captured the spirit and structure of our old home and continues to refine and tune it as we proceed forward. Threads are created to keep topics on topic. Threads can get long and messy especially if they devolve into many off topic threads and some merit their own thread as they become so persistent and parasitic within an existing thread. Some forums will purposely create a, "Free for All" area where nothing is off limits and anything and everything can be discussed to keep other threads clean of off topic meanderings but what they really mean is politics and religion which will implode a thread with a quickness. A "free for all" space allows members a place to vent and discuss anything (within reason). I like everybody here. I don't care what religion, political leaning or flavor of ice cream you like (well, ice cream is up for debate). As long as you like and want to discuss hardware with slight deviations into associative topics related to hardware it's all good. Tariffs are a valid subject as they did impact prices on many items including GPUs. Tariff wars rarely work for citizens/buyers especially in a demand heavy society because items (in this case GPUs) are still going to be purchased and all it does is allow the government to get in on the action and line their pocket regardless of which political illusion is in control at the time.
  9. Looking at Eurocom's site, they offer it with up to a 12900k and up to a 780w PSU so with a more powerful PSU you may be able to extract more performance. You can order it with no storage or WiFi and save a decent chunk of change. -$200 less for the 3060. No option to order it without a CPU. That's about right if you never plan to delid more than one 12th gen CPU. For myself, I would order the kit and then order IHS's as needed and delid on my own. There is no context to be able to ascertain if your sample is a better sample. You would need to order more of the same and test them on a desktop board or the laptop itself to differentiate between the chips. Will the 12900 run at PL150 or is PL120 where it tops out in draw? What does the power in plug look like on the PSU?
  10. I could work with a PL2 of 150w depending on thermals I could extract about 90% of the performance out of this 12900k. For an average or bad bin, you would be lucky to get ~ 65-70%. With that PL2 limit and cooling, binning would make a major difference. I'm sure single threaded performance should be fine though. Can you do a CB23 and Timespy run with HWmonitor and GPU-Z open to get an idea of CPU and GPU characteristics?
  11. Yikes, while I'm very glad it is a proper 4-screw CPU heatsink that is lacking some serious pipes compared to the press release and site photos. Even a 125w PL might get torched on what looks like something made for 40-70w. I'll be curious to see what kind of results you achieve. Maybe it has hidden magic somewhere.... Looking forward to a further deep dive. Thanks for taking the plunge!
  12. I like the idea of it being contained, self standing / adjustable and display built in. It seems to have a lot in common with the Sliger Trego in terms of form factor and the clearance for the CPU cooler shows it would have room to handle an AIO block size. The one Linus tested is still in late stage prototype phase so is subject to change but that and the Trego are my ideal form factors.
  13. Jufes addresses my very issue with the other channels who reviewed the 5800X3D (except for Hardware num3rs who did it properly too).
  14. Hmmm, did you use eBay's international shipping program or did you ship it yourself international? eBay won't get involved unless the buyer opens a case. You will need to try to contact the buyer directly to see what is going on. He may have had a case of buyers remorse or seen how much customs fees were and said, "no thanks." That happens too. I've also had buyers not pick up their items the first few times and finally get it the third or pick it up from their local PO. At this point, besides reaching out to the buyer there isn't much you can do but wait and watch it unfold.
  15. Which carrier did you use to send it? That will give you some insight into if it is staying within their entire delivery chain (FedEx, UPS) or could potentially be handed off to local delivery courier services (USPS, DHL). Reach out directly to the buyer via eBay messaging and inform them it was attempted to be delivered twice already and is there a problem. You are usually given their full contact information. You could even call if needed. If they didn't want it, they usually just refuse it and it starts heading back. Kudos to you for doing an international sale on such a high end item. I got burned a few times on a few items selling international so I stopped except for smaller items. So many things can happen once a sale is completed and an item sent. Illness, other situation that keeps you away from receiving it, death even. Worst for me was a package was attempted for delivery, never picked up and returned. Buyer never tried to get a refund or anything so I felt compelled to follow up. Come to find out from the time he bought it to delivery he had passed away. I ended up tracking down a relative who told me and I found his obit. I just went ahead and refunded it along with my deepest condolences.
  16. I was thinking of doing the same thing of downsizing my 32" 4k 60hz to a 32" 144hhz+ 1440p display. Reviews show the MSI 32" version of the QD as one of the best not only for color reproduction but general performance. I love my BenQ 32" 4k for its color reproduction but as a gaming display it is lacking and I'm starting to notice recently. Plus 1440p would really help to up the fps.
  17. This is slowly rolling out, but I could see working with something like this:
  18. I haven't seen him on these forums but I know I saw him briefly on one of the others before they shut down. I think he also posted on the notebook forums reddit thread/site/thingy.
  19. I saw @Sydneyblue sold his X170KM-G. How is your unit holding up @solidus1983 after the board replacement?
  20. AIO / Water cooled 3090ti's are starting to show up with pricing. Queues have been opened since launch day but this is the first (of three) EVGA 3090ti's to have a price. Same price as the top end air cooled 3090ti FTW3. Maybe the KPE 3090ti will come in a touch cheaper ($2399?) since the market is contracting towards normalcy (relatively speaking). Even the Asus LC 3090ti is "only" $2199.99
  21. That is a very above average 10850k. It either slipped past Intel QC or they needed more 10850k's than 10900k's and purposely dipped into the 10900k pool.
