Is this meant as a Joke @Mr. Fox? The first version of Gigabyte 4090 WINDFORCE 24G come with Vapor Chamber while the refreshed 4090 WINDFORCE 24G V2 come with a thin copper plate. Less cooling capacity and cheaper cooing. Is new always better or only Newer? And I expect you'll still have to pay the same price for the new cut down refresh. I wonder how it feels being scammed.

after a headache, i managed to get a clean install done. scores are back up and i installed a firewall and anti virus. firewall had to block a few attacks and for the life of me i dont know why anyone would want to get onto my system. stuff happens.

ill post some results just started testing different drivers. so far looks good thanks bro @Mr. Fox

I think doing a cleanish install of windows helped, and then cutting services via shutup and eso helped. Im running alot of anti virus programs and a strict firewall, its not preventing everything but clearly it helps, if I wasn't having issues with intrusions or had another computer to do this with im sure I wouldn't bother with firewall and AV and my scores would be higher but this is the best I can do for now will post another run hopefully I break 9200 overall.

Update. I finally beat 9200, took long enough lol. tried just about every tweak on the planet, next step is to buy a 4090 desktop and it will have some meaning lol.

one cool point is now I can play GTA V at 8k very high settings. albeit at 25-35 fps ha. I remember this feeling with my 6970m and 260m.

the time spy was my overall highest score, this is pretty close im just glad everythings working.

well after a year of searching for tweaks and ideas on how I could get 20k in firestrike I figured it was impossible but never gave up. I'd like to thank my friends and family and most importantly god. I wanna thank my dog sophie. lol just kidding but on a serious note I broke 20k finally. took long enough, benchmarking takes alot of testing and fiddling..

thanks bro, Also it's kinda funny ironic. I still can't top 5400 gpu in ultra firestrike! the closest I got was 4398 2 points shy, then I bumbed clocks 20mhz and it dropped 10 points, im out of tweaks I spent like 100 hours fixing my computer, and the only thing saving my butt right now is kaspersky anti virus, it's the only program able to stop the attack.

but here it is, I found it quite ironic my scores are alot higher in everything except the benchmark im trying to beat.

in real world uses it's useless, 52 fps low vs 50fps it's not going to help much, but its always fun pushing a system.

I was going to say my scores might be up but I have a feeling that it's not overclocking properly, like I set 175 oc and it gets bumped 60mhz and fluctuates between 20-60mhz oc. somethings gotta give, Iv'e tried just about everything except flashing the vbios. Can one you you gentlemen post a link to a video or tut on how to properly overclock and troubleshooting it when clocks don't hold.

I say this becuase I used to see 30-50 percent gains from overclocking and 5 percent bump is almost negligable.

Probably a firmware algorithm causing clock speeds to not hold. If you are using Afterburner, make sure you choose the options to unlock the voltage and move the slider all the way to the right for 100mV or the clocks will not hold. You can also lock it down on the voltage curve graph. That makes a HUGE difference.

In case you are not sure what I am referring to, I demonstrate it in this video. You will actually want to OVERvolt and lock the voltage at the maximum the vBIOS allows. On a laptop you also have to modify the CFG file for it to work. That is also demonstrated in the video.

Just an update on my Aorus FO48U 48” OLED. The monitor is holding up just great. I have 65 hours actual on screen time now, the monitor already had 37 hours when I first got it. The hours do add up fast!

No burn-in at all, nothing weird going on. The monitor runs a pixel refresh/cleaner every 4 hours of actual on screen usage, this pixel refresh takes like 2 minutes to complete sometimes, no more than 5 on the longer runs. You don’t have to run it if you don’t want to, and the warning to do so only pops up when you hit the power button to turn it off, but I always let it run because that’s what LG and Gigabyte recommend.

This panel sleeps and wakes perfectly and has never failed me once with this sleep/wake cycle. Plenty of large monitors/TV’s struggle to do this simple task! It turns off after just 3 minutes of idle per my Windows settings, and wakes up immediately after moving the mouse.

I’m using this thing everyday for 6-8+ hours, LG says modern 2020+ OLED panels can last 100,000 hours or 30 years 😂 (I’m not so sure about that, but okay LG lol)

I think being mindful of OLED pre cautions will allow this display to work perfectly for years and years and years. Like turning it off when you walk away for some a while. Letting the pixel refresher run. You would be surprised to hear a guy actually posted a video using older Aorus FW showing how to avoid running the pixel refresher 🤷‍♂️lol.

One thing is for sure the picture quality is second to none, and using one big 4K panel for work makes things quick and easy with daily work. There’s no perfect do it all display, and there really are so many potential sacrifices when investing in any single monitor nowadays.

Just out of curiosity @Mr. Fox, I remember you made a chart for various versions of Windows 10 describing the performance in certain benchmarks (I think) for each version. Am I recalling things correctly or have you never made such thing? If you did make something like that, could you send it? I could have sworn I've seen a picture of it but I can't find it.

@Mr. Fox thanks for that I managed to paste your text. lol real hard.

update I was able to get my highest speedway  done but timespy was down I did shift L on the highest voltage and applied. clocks are bouncing quite a bit and at a lower frequency im still not able to properly overclock my 3060 if someone can help anyone I dont mind paying for the help.

The clocks for stock vs overclock are nearly identical. Something is preventing a proper overclock. No idea what as I'm a rookie with pascal and up gpus.

Did you remember to first max out the 100mV slider, too? Shift+L is not needed, only click the dot that corresponds with the highest allowed voltage value, slide it up and press L, then apply. Need to max out the slider first to lock the voltage at the max allowed value. If you do that in the correct order the clock speeds should not be bouncing around. They should be locked and only go down in relation to the temperature based on the firmware algorithm. If you do not max out the slider first you will be locking it at 100mV below the maximum allowed voltage.

when i slide the voltage over it just resets and doesn't stick.

Screenshot-63.png

resets to this

Screenshot-64.png

also voltage is jumping around

the clocks lower after booting up a game I pressed L and applied it shows the clocks stuck at whatever I set but it lowers drastically in game or benchmark

Did you mod both of the CFG files? If you did not you may have accidentally modified the one for the Intel graphics and left the NVIDIA file stock. Not sticking generally indicates that the voltage was not unlocked correctly in the CFG file. If that is not the problem then something else is wrong or the firmware has been modified in a way to emasculate the GPU. The fact that your voltage won't lock with +100mV is why clocks and voltage are bouncing around.

You won't need to do this with a desktop GPU. The +100mV castration problem is a mobile GPU issue.

EDIT: Try copying and pasting the code below into the CFG file for the NVIDIA GPU. You can tell which CFG is Intel vs NVIDIA based on the HWID, or you just can modify both of them. It will simply be ignored on the Intel iGPU.

You also need to max out the power limit slider. The modified code below should max out the +100mV by default. I don't know what your powerlimit slider maxes out at. The code below is set for 120%. If your slider maxes at less than 120% it should push that to the max allowed. If it is less than 120% it should max it out at whatever the cap it. (Or, you could replace the 120 below with whatever that limit is.)

Delete all of the existing lines in the CFG file before you copy and paste the code below. When you save the file those should be the only lines present in the CFG file. (More lines will appear later after you launch Afterburner, and more add when you save Afterburner profiles.)

Afterburner will probably automatically create a new one for the Intel GPU but it won't affect the CFG file for the NVIDIA GPU.

This is so exciting. Now I get an actual bump in games. Alot of my games were around 50_55 give or take. Now I'm above 65 this things a beast. And after wiping all the slop the cpu runs cooler. I'd definitely be number 1 for the 3060 with liquid metal. It's like I got a new toy. Now I know why you guys are die hard benchers

@electrosoft

Did you buy that 13900KS for $649? That thing had P-SP124 P-Cores, and E-SP 97 E-Cores. What an amazing deal. Surprised to see it wasn’t delidded already.

I did. 🙂

I couldn't pass up an SP115 for that price. I'll end up playing with it on my Z690 D4 to see where these B-dies truly cap out before seeing where the DDR5 MC (or MB or mem) gives up the ghost in my MSI Z790i Edge which is rated to 8000. See where these three sets of DDR5 give up the ghost as I'm sure none of them will hit 8000.

I'm also curious to see if a 13th gen will boot in my NH55 laptop.

I'll also be curious to see how it stacks up against my 7800X3D when all is said and done.

@Custom90gt

New Fractal Design Terra seems to hit all the sweet spots properly (if air cooling).
