What happen to waiting until refresh? You see some fancy SP, and your wallet just folds in half on you lol (Or unfolds) 😂

LOL,

Well here's the long version....

Actually, I have this MSI z790i Edge, my NH55 (Socket 1700 laptop), Z690 D4, wife has an Asrock B660M, Daughter has an Asus B660.

Haus Intel atm:

-----------------------------------

MSI Z790i Edge = No CPU (+????)

Asus Z690 D4 = 12900k (Nothing ATM)

NH55 = 12900k (+3070ti Mobile)

Wife = Asrock B660M + 12100f (+Asus Strix 3080)

Daughter = Asus B660 Prime + 12400 (+Asus 3070 KO Edition)

------------------------------------

My original plan was to put an MSI Edge B650 and swap this 7800X3D for on the go in a sff but yeah I don't feel like doing that now that I have my desktop dialed in and it is running in pure beast mode right now for gaming so I'm going to send back the MSI Edge B650 and keep the Z790i Edge.

The other plan was also to swap out my Suprim 4090 as needed if possible but that is even worse than swapping out the CPU then rebuilding.

I found this display that a lot of travelers seem to like because it is a 1080p 22" 144hz panel. That means I don't need a 4090 in my sff so I'll be returning this sealed FE 4090 to Best Buy sometime next week unless someone wants it at cost. My original plan if I built out a 4090 SFF and had to use the FE 4090 was to sell my Liquid X 4090 if I had to but I really didn't want to as it is definitely above average silicon.

So then I was trying to sort out where to conjure another Intel CPU out of thin air since the Z690 D4 is slated for the wife's system when all is said and done along with the 12900k as her RS B660M is woefully under powered for the 12900k and she is getting performance issues with her teams and other software running in the background while she plays WoW. The best silicon of my 12900k's is definitely going in the NH55 (right now it is looking like my original 12900k from Dec 2021 is the winner still) I was contemplating picking up another 12900k or 13900k/ks if I had to for the Z790i Edge and then that 13900ks popped up.

He was able to run 5.7 P-cores on air which means it will most likely end up in my sff + Z790i Edge with an EVGA 280mm CLC AIO after it system hops for testing/fun times in the NH55 and Z690 D4.

Next objective is to see what will get me a solid 1080p 144hz everywhere basically. I'll test both the 3070 and 3080 but I can see a 4070 doing the trick or just yanking out the 3070 or 3080 for travel but switching it up I can potentially go with a smaller sff. I can also see an AMD 6950xt easily taking care of business too but a 4070 runs much much cooler and pulls a fraction of the power....it also has half the VRAM. 😞

@Papusan I was wondering what drivers you use for timespy and the best way or steps to install them as my method gets random results.

I tried some new some old

I'm using the newest right now as as expected it's running slow as molasses. I did something wrong not sure. How are the newest drivers for you? @Mr. Fox I'm trying to get the best performance out of this card but I'm lagging behind alot of people is there a guide out there that at least gets the ball rolling software wise as I have the hardware side of things covered.

And as 64 000 other people that have seen your video thanks alot really appreciate the hard work and instructions on how to undervolt. 🙂

Also I was wondering something, people say disabling VBS or core isolation can improve scores by 10 percent, but when I disable it My cpu max frequency drops to 1050mhz. down from 4.2ghz does anyone here know whats going on and why the throttling?

Did you use the recommended Windows 11 Oprekin mod I suggested in a previous post? If you are running a 2H22 version of W10/11 your performance is likely going to be stunted. You're already doing all the right things. It comes down to how cancerous the version of Windows is that you are using and what kind of performance-limiting filth the laptop manufacturer has spewed into their firmware.

Unless something has changed since I had the 3090, you will possibly get better results from a driver in the 470-480 version range on a 30-series GPU. The Green Goblin started poisoning their then-current GPU lineup close to new product launch like they usually do. It helps widen the gap between old and new.

No risk using a trash-free OS. If you want the best performance, using a fully debloated Windows 10/11 ISO mod is your only real option. There are some things that become difficult or impossible to correct on a fully installed OS. Only you can decide. Don't use the 2H22 though. Stick with 21H2 if performance is your goal. Newer is not better.

Exactly that. 100%. This needs to be done on any system if you want to avoid wasting time installing drivers and software when you already did it once before. I consider it silly and foolish to not do it.

Yes, you are correct. Give me time to find it. It is in my imgur account.

I had to go back 8 years to find the first comparison. It was on page 62 of 92 pages of thumbnails, LOL. Buried among 5,477 images. After Windows 7, Windows began to age like the finest quality of milk.

It hasn't improved since July of 2021, but I haven't formally measured the degradation. It is a lot of effort to go to just to prove the obvious for people that are blind and gullible. Now more than ever, people believe what they want to believe, even if that means ignoring facts and disregarding truth because it is convenient than changing course. Or, because foolish pride precludes their ability to admit that they were wrong. (Sounds like people are getting dumber, just like Windows, LOL. I think that is much truer than I would like to believe. We live in an era of unprecedented stupidity and corruption.)

I use a lot different drivers depending on all the different cards I have. So no favorite. And some drivers work better with some benchmarks while other benchmarks not get as good results with same drivers. I also use multi-boot OS setup. All different OS with their + and minuses.

I haven’t 3000 series cards but maybe try out 531.18 maybe that one works. I mean I got a ok result with this one on my sons 3070. But use NvCleanstall for fast change of drivers. New bloat free driver install is done within 2 min with this tool. And this tool can do the whole process from downloading the drivers and then install it.

This 3090 Kingpin is just destroying 4K. I’ve got to put together some gameplay footage showing this off. My overclock, my windows, my forced rebar settings are performing phenomenally.

I swear the loss in performance from 2560x1440P to 3840x2160P is extremely minimal or not at all sometimes. It is really the strangest thing

Maybe it’s the 22% overclock to the GDDR6X, the core overclock, increased power limit. It all adds up I suppose.

I was playing Halo Infinite maxed out and up-scaled to 8K with my son earlier in a Co-op campaign. Getting about 45FPS 😂

Went to my older post and that page started loading and then crashed into nothing. Timing out. Now I can’t even connect to this forum at all with my ordinary fiber internet. I'll reach out to my friend tonight and ask him to confirm the status of our backend but it appears to be your internet, unless it's also on wifi?

Could try a VPN just to rule it out a bad pathway to the forum. Also could try getting a new public IP by changing Mac address of your modem/router which would effectively be the same thing from a troubleshooting standpoint.

Did you grab the one over on the OCN FS forums? I saw one for sale at a good price. I was tempted to pick it up to replace my daughter's 3070 for Hogwarts but she let me know she's done with Hogwarts as she's beaten it and re-play value is low. 🙂

Good thing I didn't either. I don't think I could have swung that and the 13900ks at the same time. Well....not without some backlash. 😁

We'll have to see some complete pics with it in the N200R!

Yeah same guy, I got it from [H] for less than asking price, nice guy to deal with. Now I'm going to order a 16pin cable from moddiy I think. The real question is if I should get a 90* cable for the eventual Dan-C4V2 + 4090 or if the silicon wires will be flexible enough to work...

*on edit* I should grab the cablemod 90* adapter for @Papusan

I need two bro Custom. I have the HOF. So double chance for fire if CM have real QC problems with those new angled adapters😅

Edit. @RecieverVPN works. And also my ISP vendor support tested the same notebooktalk website on their own machines. They got access to the forum page but not me with the same IPS vendor/host.

Yep, turning of VPN and the access to the forum don't work.

Maybe your hosts file got jacked up? Have you looked to see if something got blocked in the hosts file or in your firewall by accident, or due to malicious intent? If you are using Adguard, something may have gotten added to their block list by accident. There have been a couple of times over the years where an accidental right click got something added to a blocked URL list on one of my systems.

@Mr. Fox

The V-Color Manta 8200c38 (2x24GB) kit has arrived. The person who sent me these said they can run 8800. I’m not so sure my IMC can though haha (I have no idea honestly). We will see! I will give them a good test over the weekend.

I am pretty much selling parts for a guy, because he’s not a very trust worthy person on the forums. I believe he’s burned a few people, so I’m selling the memory for him. (I’ll give it a good test first) but he’s sent me numerous CPU’s in the past to fix SMD’s on or delid, or test etc.

This is the same guy you mentioned once who sold you a 10900K that died I believe. 🙂

But you would essentially be able to buy the fastest commercially available DDR5 for really really cheap compared to their original eye watering $569 MSRP.

Just to be sure, you did use a VPN sourcing from your locale correct? Not VPNing to USA to then access this site?

I can’t see anything wrong. Both vpn and internet from the phone works great. And same behavior on 3 different machines. I have also reset router/home central. Nothing different. A new home central is on the way.

I have seen something similar before. The previous internet vendor blocked tomshardware website. I called them and the website worked afterward.

I mean it’s directly from local. I just downloaded a vpn app and did no changes in the setup. Just plug and play to check if that worked. Worked equal well as with my phone internet.

Btw. What’s the best paid and free vpn?

I used to have codes for 20 devices and 3 year avg vpn. But it was removed or perhaps you can find the codes by scrolling back a few dozen pages
