KPE 3090ti's are dropping first wave to queue members and auto-notify is gone so Jacob was right when he said limited.

$2499.99 w/ 1600 PSU no exceptions. It's a bundle deal.

If you didn't queue up you're SOL (if you wanted one).

I know that I have already mentioned that I do not care for the hybrid GPU setups much, but that is the first one from EVGA that I think is aesthetically pleasing. While definitely better that air cooling, aside from the mediocre performance of a GPU AIO compared with a custom loop and full GPU water block, I did not particularly care for the appearance of their hybrids from previous generations.

I am glad that I do not want or need a GPU right now, because that is still at least $1,000 more than I believe it is worth. Even though it is a little bit faster stock than a 3090, I am not fully convinced that a 3090 Ti is a upgrade worthy of consideration for anyone that already owns a 3090. Certain aspects of the 3090 Ti seem like a step backward.

On a very positive note, now has never been a better time to grab an EVGA Supernova 1600W PSU. I had to remind myself a couple of times I did not need one because $199 is a CRAZY GOOD price for arguably the best PSUs that money can buy. I felt compelled to buy another one because of the price and had to force myself to resist.

Hey everyone, I was notified that I can buy a 3090Ti Kingpin Hybrid from EVGA if anyone is interested.

Just figured I’d give someone else an opportunity to buy one. I believe it’s $1,999? I already own a 3090 Kingpin Hydro Copper, so I don’t really have a need for it. Well, let me rephrase that. “I have a need” but, I can’t spend that much to fill the need lol.

😀

Anyways, have a great 4th of July weekend everyone.

I think part of the issue is going to be release fatigue.

Even though I have an assortment of GPU's (5700xt's, Vega 56's, rtx 3080's and a 3090) I can still play all of my games just fine @ 1080p with my GTX 1080 in my P750FM @ 190w

I need to figure out how to get rid of what ever is pulling my 9700F to its base clock for a moment here and there

I just finished attaching 2 server heatsinks to the CPU and GPU but the fans I have at the moment dont push enough CFM's to prevent heat soak so tomorrow I will swap them out with the half mass sister heatsinks

Its one of the MSI versions that doesnt need it (no plug), I think it originally runs 180w but it was a huge pain to make the heatsink for it @DaMafiaGamer was able to make it after some experimentation.

Basically the ideal 1080, until you see its off center GPU die, after that we just went full frankenmod and I couldnt be happier, suffice it to say its hardly a laptop anymore.

I was looking forward to upgrading it again but 30xx mobile wasnt as compelling, maybe AMD might have something who knows, or if the prices come down after rtx 40xx drops then I might revisit.

If RTX4000 series makes my 3090KP just look like a really really healthy running RTX4070, I may even ride out for 2 more years on it.

That build of yours named “Alfred” is that after King Alfred? Like the Netflix series “The last Kingdom” with Uhtred? Lol.

yeah man that makes total sense, squeeze some more life outta that monster 3090KP!

and LOL nope it was more along the lines of Batman - Bruce Wayne - Alfred 😂 although Alfred is way more powerful gpu wise, with cpu perf being roughly on par (crazy how far tech has come, 9900K = 12600 non-K lol)

True, if I find a KPE around 1100 I might have to (re) pick one up again. All the cards that passed my way during the Pandemic and Mining craze the KPE 3090 was easily my favorite.

KPE 3090ti is truly a limited run so it transcends normal 3090ti parameters and falling prices but $2500+tax is a tough pill to swallow.

I picked up a 3090ti FTW3 but ended up returning it after a week as it just didn't bring the value for the $2k+ it cost IMHO but a $1200 3090ti FTW3 is a different story.

yep totally agree....i dont get why EVGA FTW3 cards are SO freaking expensive here in europe, like....wtf! compare that with an MSI Suprim X and ure looking at roughly 800€ (!!!) price difference for a new 3090 Ti at exactly the same performance. the only advantage, albeit a significant one, with EVGA is the option to extend the warranty to 5 or 10 years vs. MSI's 3 years non-extendable. although one might just as well purchase a third party warranty at that point...

Nvidia’s greed have no limits. Yep, 4000 gen cards will show up later in the year but this is done to increase profits.

Another consideration in NVIDIA's decision is that the RTX 3080 Ti costs $1,089, leaving less room in the pricing range for the 12GB RTX 3080 to coexist with the Ti and 10GB variants. According to NVIDIA, this means that users may be enticed to pay more for an RTX 3080 Ti instead of a 10GB RTX 3080 because there are no 12GB options.

Foundry TSMC states prices of graphics cards and processors will increase by 9%

PC component prices are returning to normal now that the epidemic and crypto meltdown have passed, but it does not appear that this will be a sure thing in the near future. The cost of graphics cards and processors might increase by up to 9 percent in 2023, according to TSMC.

It certainly won't be because they "love" their customers. The only thing they feel that way about is money.

I felt compelled to buy another one because of the price and had to force myself to resist.

I've had my 1600w T2 from EVGA for a couple years now when I got it as a bundle/coupon offer with a GPU for like $180 or something. Insane value for a such an amazing PSU. I got my email for the KPE 3090 Ti, but I decided to skip this one. My FTW3 3090 Ti is a powerhouse, I don't overclock much right now, and 4000 series is on the the very near horizon. Hell I'm not even sure I need a 40 series card since 3090s are already so powerful for all resolutions outside of 4K or 8K gaming. I'll likely grab one just to mess around with it, but for gaming I can't see it being necessary for me.

True and I didn't have too many problems with the FTW3 3090ti I had for about a week. Boosted to 2070 gaming and temps never went over 65c. Definitely not quiet though. Uplift was there just not enough to justify the $2k+tax price tag vs my 3080. I'm keeping an eye out on prices and ebay though as they continue to tumble.

Problem with the KPE 3090ti is price, no block (for those who wc) and 4000 series right around the corner but the upside is a very limited run (if that's your thing), One of the if not only cards designed with dual power connectors and 100% MLCC poscap design but I can't see it outpacing what is now a $1650 FTW3 3090ti that much in performance (well $1850 w/ PSU). I do wish they had offered it with a T2 instead of P2 at that price.

I fully expect the 4090 to smash the 3090ti by at least 30% if not more.

I had to hold back this time around lol

No worries, bro. Brother @Clamibot got a extraordinarily good 10900K for his X170, so I was really glad that it got to stay within our "Digital Family" here at NotebookTalk.

I am definitely going to have to delid this bad boy. The temps are just way too high with the stock solder, even running on the chiller. The voltage needs are nice and low.

OK, the damage is done. Delidded with liquid metal on both sides of the IHS and NO CHILLER in this test. 55x all P-cores at 1.410V override. I'd call this a major win. Compared with the temps in the above run using the water chiller and KPX thermal paste... yay. Edit: the watts dropped from 403 to 362.
