Are you using Windows 10? That’s probably why your Cinebench scores are low then and not using the E-Cores. I had that issue before. You need a newer Windows 10, or preferably Windows 11. I remember this happen to me when I first upgraded to 13900K on launch. -

I’m testing the 10900K LTX SP106 currently. And it does really well so far. Or at least I think so. I’m running all-cores at 5.0Ghz@138 watts max with an AIO during R15 Cinebench. This cooler doesn’t seem all that great, or maybe it’s not working properly. 🤷♂️ Temps are peaking at 92c package still. I’m not all that impressed with the subzero so far, unless I’m using it wrong. I may have to check the mount as well. This seems kinda toasty for sub 140 watts. @Clamibot Nevermind. I found the software download url in the manual! It’s working now. Holy crap works so MUCH BETTER… 😃 -

It’s strange because it is quite the opposite for other chips. Using my 3175X I can run R15 at 5.0Ghz probably lol. But R23 is gonna hit limits at 4.7-4.8Ghz range. So there is something with the instruction used on a 13/14th gen chip that makes R15 the toughest of them all. @electrosoft @Mr. Fox I really had to take a close look to even see a motherboard inside that big case at all!!! Wow. Where’s it at? 🤣 -

Cinebench R15 was always troublesome with Intel 13/14 gen chips. It was always the hardest to run of R20/R23/R24. If you can run R15 then the dang thing can run Ycruncher with the same settings. That’s just how it is with the P/E core chips using R15. Sometimes TVB can cause issues, sometimes you may need it on/off. Just know R15 is tough on these chips. If I can run R23/R24 with 1.225V completely stable. Then that means R15 will need 1.250V+ to run lol. If you wanna get an Intel 13/14th gen stable of it can pass R15, it’ll pass anything. -

Getting ready to test the new Xeon w3175X. This thing was brand new and sealed. Just opened it up. Shall the best Xeon win! This will be easy though, because I know my chip well by this point. -

@Mr. Fox @electrosoft So when I meant harder to sell, I mean imagine I’m running direct die on a 13900KS, and then I’m contemplating selling it. There’s a whole process to do most buyers want a sealed chip, unless you get lucky but there still work involved either way. I’ve gotta pull the chip clean the die, redo the Liquid Metal, clean the solder off the original IHS and then reseal the CPU with black silicon making sure it is exactly lined up and even, re-latch back in to a socket so it can cure with pressure being applied, let’s not forget I need to run it again to make sure temps are adequate (No hot cores) all of this takes a lot of time and work all just to sell a CPU lol. Usually half a day. And then you want to let it sit in the socket for 24 hours for good cure so IHS doesn’t lift on you causing a gap between die and inner IHS. Plus LM splashes bad in shipping it’s gonna be a mess under the IHS of a delidded cpu that gets shipped if the buyer lifted the IHS again. Now with GPU’s it’s the exact same thing. Selling waterblocked GPU’s is tough. You’re limiting your market buyers to 10% of gamers who buy GPU’s who have custom loops maybe mess. Then I have to remove the block and re-mount the original cooler may need to replace pads/paste, then reinstall to check temps+function then repackage. With a stock CPU, I pull the chip wipe the paste and I’m repackaging. With GPU, I just pull GPU and package. -

That 14900KS is bound to rip on direct die. I’ve more or less completely stepped away from delidding CPU’s and water cooling graphics cards. It hurts the value and makes it really hard to sale. Although, I do think I may need to delid this golden SP106 (10900K) I might make an exception for that one (Have not ran it yet, but I know how LGA1200 chips love that. 🤣 They rip HARD on direct die. -

I love glossy screens. Glare is really overrated on a glossy screen. The oddest thing is that glare is actually worse on a matte panel because it is amplifying the light and spreads it out to a larger surface than on glossy screen would reflecting only the item or light source. All of our phones use a glossy panel, and reflections are not an issue at all. But not just that, the colors look so much better on a glossy panel! My Aorus FO48U is 48" Glossy OLED and it looks wicked there are many times where I feel like the colors are right there and nothing separates the games graphics. Many of the monitors I see for sale today are matte which really limit the options. I am not sure what started whole matte obsession lol. Phones are not matte, and most TVs are not matte either. -

I have the beast cooler setup in the new house. Working great. Need to add a little more water though, only got about 2-3 gallons in the tank. I have 30,000ML of Koolance fluid that I got on sale, I plan to flush and add that. This setup works better than ever though. Cools the water down to 59F in no time, and holds it there in between cycles and PC loads. How the office is laid out there’s only 3.5 walls, so warm air is blown out of the room down the hall way in to the rest of the house. This way the room is not heated, and you can’t tell a difference in air temp. (It’s Impossible to run a chiller long term in a small closed room) -

I’d go for the Gskill or Team Group DDR5 6000-6800 ECC RDIMM sticks, but you gotta shop around I have seen prices go from $289.99 to $500+ for the 4x16GB. Those will overclock really good, potentially hitting DDR5 7000+ ranges. Newegg had some 4x16GB for like $239.99 at one point when I was looking a while back. The prices have shot up again though with 3rd party resellers listing them. Fortunately motherboards prices for W790 are dropping FAST! So I’d say Asus W790 or Asrock are really the only choices you have. The Asrock w790 2.0 is a stripped down Asrock W790, they were supposed to be $499.99 retail MSRP. But I’m not sure if that has even come to the USA yet. The Xeon 2495X is a good chip. This one should last years and years with solid performance. And it’s a single die with quad channel. So latency is good! Bandwidth will still be insane. Heres some sticks below! I would check QVL really well. Just make sure every thing goes together. It’ll be a trouble free experience. Make sure to take some serious caution when mounting those big CPU’s and use proper torquing sequence. https://www.newegg.com/team-group-64gb/p/N82E16820985125?item=N82E16820985125 -

I can’t wait to test it! I have more or less learned my current w3175X well. I know its limits. It’s actually a very very good chip though from what I am seeing. My current W3175X was manufactured the very last week of 2017, and this new one was made in mid 2019. So definitely curious to see if they run similar or potentially worse. Both retail chips. These CPU’s are $2,999 brand new on Amazon. So finding one sealed like this for $380 dollars seems crazy to me, and I felt silly not grabbing it. -

I could not resist this. Brand-new Xeon 3175X sealed. $380 bucks. Snatches! Planning to test and compare with mine, and sell one of them. 5e dice roller 5e dice roller 5e dice roller -

How are the AMD SP ratings comparing? Tested any that are much better than other chips? Or does it not matter much? -

That’s what I was curious about. So I suppose about 8% faster for the 9800X3D in seriously CPU bottlenecked 720P situations AKA: “1080P Quality DLSS”. My 14900KS was stock, other than cache and memory overclocking. Not sure if a 4090 might help that. I think my 4090 was only around 25-35% GPU usage average. With a max of 48% in the hardest areas. But definitely give it a test and see for sure. Maybe it can do even 70K. -

Maybe you can run this. I remember whooping “Fully Tuned” 7800X3D’s and 7950X3D’s pretty good with my last setup. Honestly the 9950X/9950XD might just take it now though. -

Yep! They are wonky with the 1st graphics test, and the physics tests, interesting you’re having the same issues with your 28/56 chip. My firestrike was just like that though. And it’s all due to Hyper Threading. The good news is, real world gaming works really really well leaving HT on. So this is really only needed for Firestrike and Timespy. All of my games I play push my RTX4090 perfectly! Coming from a 14900KS, I don’t really notice a difference real world. -

@ssj92 Disable HT and run Firestrike Physics again. It’ll probably double lol. This is the only test that cannot run right on all threads for me as well. Although weirdly Windows 22H2 helped a lot with this, but disabling HT helps even more! Firestrike Physics just has no idea what to do with your 3465X. Another thing is dumb, and this test really makes no sense. My 3175X can run Timespy GT1 at 30% GPU usage with HT on, but GT2 is 100% GPU usage lol. If you turn HT off, it’s full GPU usage for GT1 and GT2. Really just poor optimization I guess. -

Thats really good to hear. Once it goes inside of an ATX case it’s definitely gonna be using only the Subzero 360. How do you think 4x16GB will overclock on a 4 dimmer? Like 4266? Maybe 4400? -

I might have to throw this on my extreme bench for a quick spin. 😎 You’re right about SP’s. You’d have to have them all delidded side by side for comparable testing. I was actually gonna buy one from another guy it was just an SP101. But looked pretty good. -

It arrived! My daughters new CPU. 10900K/sp106 This is the largest cpu box I have ever seen! ITS MASSIVE!!! Only 200 of these exist. Really great cpu+cooler combo for $275.00. I was originally going to build my daughter with the Z690 Hero+DDR5 which was donated. But the owner/gifter needed those things back, since his main system went down, so since I had a Z490 motherboard, and 64GB of fresh Samsung Bdie already. This makes perfect sense to set her up with a one of a kind 10900K. -

I’m running 22H2 as well. My 3175X absolutely rips on this OS. I tried 24H2/22H3/22H2. Only thing I have not tried yet is Windows 10 on this system. It’s an older system with lower IPC. So I need every advantage I can get. I think 22H3 barely performs slower than 22H2. And it always reflects in my CPU physics scores, and GPU usage. (1) Fastest bios (2) Fastest micro code (3) Fastest OS (4) Highest possible overclocks. (5) Good game optimization is always welcome 😃 -

Stalker 2 is lots of fun so far. Playing on the hardest difficulty for realism and title longevity. 😃 It runs butter on a 4090, 4K@120HZ is perfect for it. Seriously surprised by that. Thank goodness for DLSS+FG. And thank goodness for a nice AAA title that incorporates those features on day 1. Some games do not lol. “Cough” “Cough” Starfield. “Cough” Cough” Ark Ascended. -

Something like that lol. Worth a try. Game pass as a TON of games though. So, it may be worth keeping it and paying the $15 per month or how much it cost. I cancelled mine and could not live without it, so I got it again a few months ago lol! So many games that are $60 dollar hits on Steam, are totally free on Xbox Game Pass. This game Stalker 2 runs GREAT! My minimum FPS has been 99fps, running 4K maxed out, DLSS Quality+FG getting 99-117 fps cap. My RTX4090 GPU is NOT overclocked at all. Anything outside of the red arrows is minimizing the game and going back to desktop. Pretty good for a Day 1 release on a demanding title. -

Grab a Xbox gamepass subscription for $1 dollar, then cancel it. You’ll be able to play if you have Gamepass.
