  1. I have a SP103 14900KS that I will be delidding and running on direct die. Will be testing the IMC as well. I want to see what something like this does at 5.8Ghz all core on direct die.
  2. There was a new driver released yesterday for this games support, it may help +1 fps, not quite sure yet. This is fully maxed out with 50% DLSS+FG. It is running really good though. Also, the latest bios for me are not all that great. I am sticking with 9901. The newer bios work great for power delivery to the CPU, low CPU power, low CPU temps, but they feel totally gutless with extreme ram tuning, and easy ram stability.
  3. I was looking at the exact same thing, when @Papusanfirst posted the video. I just about spewed my coffee everywhere seeing they both were using similar power 🙃. If their GPU usage was not so wonky and low, both CPU’s would use equally more power of course. But still makes me really consider things. What is real and what isn’t.
  4. What garbage tuning is this? The AMD chip and 14900K isn’t even pushing the 4090 properly. My system certainly slams my 4090 to the moon at 1080P. Cyberpunk 2077 does not experience any cpu bottleneck until 400fps+ range, yet they are already hitting low GPU usage at like 136 FPS avg? 🤣
  5. Did you run Wukong bench yet? Also, that game has some abnormally good reviews on Steam. I am tempted to just buy it.
  6. It's worth it! I had a 3090 Kingpin Hydro Copper for a long time. It was very fast. One thing about the 3090KP, was right out of the box and completely stock it was already faster than a 3090Ti FE, and once you overclocked it on chilled water, nothing could really keep up with it, not even overclocked 3090Ti's. Then Frame Gen started popping up in practically every game, and these 4070Ti's started pulling well ahead at a fraction of the power. I ended up getting a 4080 Super, and it was only like 15-18% faster than my 3090KP in rasterization it was the Frame Gen where it shined, and at a much lower power consumption. Once you overclocked the 4080 Super it was at least 22-23% faster in rasterization. But, with Ray tracing, DLSS3, and FG that gap grew even further. I have since upgraded to the 4090. While it is nice and all, that level of performance is not needed.. Honestly, I was pretty happy with just the 4080 Super. But that's why I really recommend pretty much any RTX4000 series GPU. It's just the way the future is headed with these games. DLSS, Scaling, and Frame Gen the whole shebang. The 3080's and 3090's have had their fun. They are pushing 4 years old now, and these newer lighter cards can show up them with all this fancy tech. When I had my 3090KP I could not stop wanting this darn frame gen feature for added smoothness. Nothing could be done but the way of upgrade. We see how demanding these games are without frame gen, and without scaling. So, every advantage to make things look and run as good as they can helps.
  7. You do not have to have a 4090 to enjoy this game. Honestly, just a 4060 would put you into DLSS3 with real FG, that alone is nice feature. Native 1080P then with DLSS+FG on top, and any modern RTX4000 series can handle that game really well. It was the main reason why I got rid of my 3090 Kingpin. And I have to give it to Nvidia, the new features really are worth it.
  8. I’d personally rather run DLSS2 at a lower percentage scale without FG, than FG+FSR at a higher percentage scale. The AMD FSR is not very good in my opinion. It does that shimmer effect that immediately gives away the fact we are using scaling. The 2080Ti is still a great GPU though. I would give Battlefield 2042 a test with that combination on a 128 multiplayer server. That would really interesting to see. Also, Death Stranding is another game that loves CPU cores! (no matter how many you have lol) It was the only title to push a 7980XE to 100% on all 36 threads long before games were all using 8/16 with my 3090 Kingpin and 2560x1440P lol. Those Sony ports are always the best when it comes to using hardware properly and optimization.
  9. The free benchmark is fantastic. It lets people see the game run and work. And we can see how it performs on our system. Games are expensive. Imagine how many refunds are issued over someone randomly buying a game, and then they aren’t happy with it due to performance issues, or not even launching/working all together. I may buy the game and play it, I never throw $60 bucks at a game unless it’s something I have been anticipating or really want. I have difficulty staying focused on games lately though, it has to be a really good game. I’ve just become obsessed with cpu/ram overclocking. I could get by with an iGPU for most of my work at home in all honesty. You know, another thing I really want is the current and future Apex boards allowing us to use the iGPU. The iGPU depends on fast system memory and what better motherboard than an Apex to use it on. That would be so to just all out full overclock and bench the Intel iGPU. And I can’t even use mine. Stalker 2, and Kingdome Come Deliverance 2 are coming this year and very soon! Both titles will push high end parts. I can’t wait for either. I plan to take a week off work for either title 😂
  10. Yep, R23 only uses like 25 more watts, it’s the games lately honestly they do this shader compiling, they didn’t always do this. 🤣 Also, if you run in to this error in the future ram stability can cause the error too.
  11. This IMC and bios 9901 on my Apex are really a killer combo. This is the profile I was using in the Wukong benching and have been using it daily. PS: My Windows is not very well optimized it is fully bloated. So, these numbers on someone else's system would probably be even better.
  12. I already knew this was gonna give people trouble after seeing the 297 watt with my chip at 5.9-6.2/4.8E/5.0R. I am using bios 9901 with Micro code 0123. The shader compiles are getting intense these days. I might try something like that. But it seems happy how it is. It’s not blocked completely, it’s just a barrier and it forces the air to travel in a horizontal direction up through the fins and out the side or horizontal between the paper towel and the GPU back plate. Before it was blowing vertical right to my system ram which was causing sweating randomly if humidity was high. My Suprim-X did not have a cut out. So I don’t think it’s even needed.
  13. I had to put a paper towel on mine to cover that backplate cutout. Otherwise it blast my ram with hot air and makes them sweat. it doesn’t seem to make the card any warmer.
  14. I hope my 4090 holds up. It is under warranty at least. But who wants to deal with that. Anyways, that one in the video has the old PCI-e slot tail hook which was definitely a big no no on these.. It's like 16ft long.
  15. Do you have trouble with the Jedi Survivor game as well? Thats another CPU intensive one I think.
  16. Real world stability testing is always the best. These modern games are stout. People use to pick on the idea of using games as stability testing. Now most of the time systems can pass through stability testing and fail to run games lol.
  17. I’ll try to turn mine off and see if I gain any performance.
  18. Yes, it does. I didn't think Dynamic tuning enabled in bios did or changed anything else, other than allowing APO to work. I do not use XTU or anything, but Dynamic tuning is enabled in the bios on my system.
  19. Just ran it again. This GPU is a sensitive baby with overclocking. If you OC just a tiny bit too much it will lock up your whole computer. One of the most sensitive GPU's I have ever owned in my life lol.
  20. While 2fps is very very small that is actually 10% difference. Make sure you have Rebar forced. I am also using Intel Application Optimizer as well. My GPU is running 2910 boost steady. My first run did 27fps, and I should have screen shot that one. But I tried again and it was 26fps.
  21. My GPU is aircooled. It does not hold high boost. It is a very poor bin unfortunately. Looks to be hitting 71c max
  22. All for fun! I copied your settings. PS: This run only average 88% GPU usage, so it was CPU bottlenecked. Estimated FPS is no CPU bottleneck existed, and GPU was 99% GPU usage. Average FPS: 173.8 FPS Maximum: 198 FPS Minimum: 123 FPS
  23. It’s almost a double cheeseburger! But not quite. Still impressive for your laptop though. If we could force DLSS OFF, we’d gain much more FPS at native 100% scaling. This is essentially DLAA.
  24. I mean, it’s still 8.5% and your resolution slider was 65% and not 66% 😂 But, I really don’t think it matters about CPU OC, and or RAM OC. I’m pretty sure an i3 with DDR4 3200 would probably yield a similar result as me now with my 4090. My 4090 doesn’t overclock well at all. I saw one 4090 boosting near my max OC only his was completely stock (Very sad) 😭 but you probably will beat me in this one easily @electrosoft I’d go ahead and do a full on OC run with the GPU OCed. I think this benchmark might come down to whose GPU has best silicon. I didn’t exactly see any action in the benchmark, it looks like a bunch of senior animal ninjas slowly walking around their retirement resort in the jungle. 😂
  25. Tested the Black Myth WuKong benchmark. My 4090 does not particularly overclock all that well. It ran 2,895Mhz on the boost through the entire benchmark. But here goes. It seems the 4090 will get this title done pretty well maxed out at 4K. Especially with further updates and optimization I hope it gets even better! I tried to disable motion-blur and turn anti-aliasing to low, this only resulted in a +1 FPS improvement lol. So, I left it on for the below run. These settings are how I will play the game. 4K/DLSS@66%=Quality DLSS/ Ray Tracing=ON/ Frame Gen=ON I have to say 78 FPS average for a 4090 at the end of its life on a AAA title just coming out is really fantastic. It’s definitely doing its job. Thank goodness for DLSS, and Frame Gen. (10 Years ago, the game would just mop the floor of your fancy high end GPU and that was that) During the shader compile my CPU peaked at a thirtsy 297.7 watts of juice at 5.9P/4.8E/5.0R DDR5 8600C36-49. Not sure why the font turned this color. But yeah, we all know some of these modern game shader compiles can use as much power as Cinebench lol. Happy Birthday @Papusan 🎊
