the only good thing i get out of these charts is the massive perf. jump going from "everything else" to the 4090 😄 welp, its kinda our own fault...we jumped onto the ridonkulous prices during the pandemic when everyone and their dog bought a new system, so that let Nvidia and the others know: ooooh, well would u look at that. youre willing to pay THAT much?! ok then, here u go, never going back down again! MWAHAHA good point, while inflation is currently being touted as the perfect excuse for pretty much everything greed-related, it DOES actually have an impact over longer time periods. -
da place 2 b indeed, welcome to NBT 🙂

a phrase like "limited budget" is kinda unusual to come from a hardware user like you 😄 huh? happy birthday? planning to get up to 120? if yes to both, nice 😄 3200+ duuude...but ok, then again thats just bench stable 😄 that lower end i assume would be in RT benches. -

agreed. FG is not something i care about, same goes for all the upscaling crap like DLSS and FSR. I DO care about raytracing though! nah man, just enjoy ur 3090 KP a bit longer and get the 5090 when it comes out 🙂 yep i was also surprised when i saw this pop up. havent watched it yet but should be interesting to compare with GNs findings (although with different CPUs). -

"not bad" he says non-chalantly 😄 good job there mate hahaha. what kinda clocks and temps are we talking here? also, say what u will about AMD GPUs, but the 7900XTX at +35% raster performance and +8GB vram vs. the 4070 Ti Super is a no-brainer at the same price... unless you absolutely NEED ray-tracing, then i expect the 70 card to outperform team red by a significant margin. question being, if the FPS are even playable at that point 😄 -

yay to the death of good price/perf. & value hardware! 😞 https://www.tomshardware.com/tech-industry/newer-chips-are-rapidly-becoming-far-more-expensive-tsmcs-average-wafer-price-jumped-22-in-one-year-and-nearly-all-semiconductor-industry-growth-now-comes-from-more-expensive-products -

welp, nothing burger. with each new GPU release im getting happier that i got the 4090 on launch day 😄 i just finished Control ultimate edition and now starting with the Alan Wake series, since its in the same fictional universe. so i started with alan wake 1 remastered and noticed that gpu oc doesnt bring any performance improvements. so now im running my card at -250 on the vRAM, -1000 on the core and 6% power limit. everything maxxed out, including the game engine, apparently its not capable to delivering more than like 70-100 fps LOL. in any case, the 4090 is humming along at 150W with temps in the 30s LOL. also got my 7950X capped to the minimum 2.4-2.5 Ghz on all cores with max. core parking enabled. id call that a pretty frugal gaming experience, power consumption wise 😄 still, im amazed at how good the graphics look! -
dude, was about to say, shopping spree much? hahaha

agreed, im also not a big fan of founders editions cards. i get the appeal in terms of pricing at MSRP (if you buy from BB or directly from Nvidia online) and not getting a total bottom of the barrel AIB card at MSRP, but aside from that i think most users online praising FE cards to high heaven completely exaggerate. wouldnt surprise me if this was put in place by Nvidia to discourage any "early bird" reviewers from breaking their NDA (or ruining the show for others if they havent signed any) -

anyone see a connection between the two? 😄 damn i would be PISSED if i had bought a 4090 and gotten a 4090 MOBILE instead... nevertheless, gotta respect the "creativity" and dedication behind this, crazy.... -
we can hope for an rtx5080 32gb mxm for clevo right :-D

thats correct with the 4090, but only up to 1440p. at 4K all the higher-end CPUs are pretty much equal, i.e. in full GPU bottleneck. but also true, not sure how the 10900K would fare here... i was skeptical when u said 1/3, but it turns out its like 2.3-2.4x (14900K vs. 10900K), crazy stuff! game support isnt the issue here, driver wise youd be set. problem would rather be to get it running in the first place. both cooling wise (heatsink compatibility for the layout), as well as vBios / sBios, make it boot up and display output. -

lol damn i just saw ur terms and conditions in that ebay listing...had bad experiences much? 😄 and im sure lots of ppl STILL dont read all the disclaimers and keep behaving like crap... i leave that switched off. from my experience it only works up to a certain point @RAM OC. once u go full timing tightening, it just makes ur system unstable. faster boot time doesnt help me if i have to sacrifice stability or OC potential 😄 besides, its not that bad actually, i need maybe 40-45 seconds at 7600 fully tuned? smth like that... -

omg SO looking forward to this! especially since Machinegames also made the Wolfenstein series which im a total sucker for. watching that trailer i recognized their style right away. perfect combo with the Indy franchise! 😍

LOL definitely less than you, thats for sure 😄 nah, nowadays i just dial in the highest stable 24/7 OC i can do and then let it be 🙂 i got roughly 1-2 hours of actual "freetime" a day (best case!) nowadays, so not much capacity to get into competitive benching hahaha -

admittedly, its been a while, this was back in the Pascal days, especially with standard MXM 1070s. Aetina cards were known to blow up left and right after a while of usage. hoping they improved on their robustness since then 😄

this 100%. i keep tabs every once in a while on component pricing of my build. every time i think "wwhoa prices have gotten waaaay lower after day 1!". but no buyer's remorse, cuz right after follows: "welp ive been using this hardware since day 1 for close to 15 months now". THAT time utilizing this awesome performance is more worth than the money missed due to falling prices and waiting time 🙂 whoa thats getting pretty philosphical now 😄 not sure if uve mentioned this before: any differences between the Asus and Galax 1kW XOC vbios versions? super happy with the asus vbios, but just curious. dude, if u hadnt followed up with his link, i wouldnt have realized what kinda storage gold mine were talking here. thats frigging amazing! saved those links to mull things over. my current setup with 4x4TB 860 Evos in 2 RAID 0 stripes mirrored to each other is a tad too many drives for my liking. would rather prefer 2x8 TB single drives and this here would come in VERY handy! -
true, just 4% on average at 1080p performance loss, but u better check which game ure playing: noice might drop prices a bit cheaper with Aetina but then theres always the quality / longevity issues with Aetina cards....

"that much" sounds like its never been done before or would be unusual in the range of 50-70%, "that much" would rather be appropriate for 100+% jumps 😄 but thats just business as usual looking at past gpu gens 🙂 as for die size, at some point nvidia will also jump on the multi chip wagon just like AMD and now intel before them. plus they dont need to prioritize gamers. the whole reason they introduce so many alternative tweaks to classic rasterization via tensor / RT is that this is just dripping down from their AI / cloud / server / enterprise customer cards anyways. so they just adopt whatever new shizz they have for their main business (i.e. "non-gamer") and let it trickle down to gaming, bam done. unless at some point they decide that gaming isnt worth it anymore at all, that would suck...but i dont think we are at that point just yet. huh, interesting! will keep this in mind and check when im back home. oh snap completely forgot about that one! good find! 🙂 -

i mean, on average u can always expect around 50-70%, its actually pretty consistent between flagships of any given gpu gen 🙂 shouldnt be much difference for 50 series either. anything below the flagship though is subject to much larger variability! -

this comparison would be way more interesting for non X3D AM5 chips. the v-cache enabled ones are capable to buffer any shortcomings in ram speed for quite a while. im pretty damn sure non-X3D skus benefit more from increased ram speed 🙂 although yes, vs. intel its still not as significant. looking forward to zen 5! 😁 -
