  1. It usually keeps over 2000mhz. worst test feasible is of course the witcher on dx12 with ray tracing, constant 400watts and both cpu and gpu are quite stressed, gpu at 79 80 and cpu pretty similar
  2. i get 2085 on 0.975, so no need for the shunt mod, just dumb luck I guess
  3. true on the fan test, however one can still do a couple of runs of the same benchmarks with identical conditions on both sets of fans. Not saying you ought to since I know it is kinda bothersome to unscrew everything etc. looking forward to the wattage, 250 should be around the official tdp for the card iirc, however, that will be a mod for watercooled x170s only that's for sure.
  4. what kind of realistic wattage is that gpu pulling now? is it safe for the caps, vrms etc ? would love some more tests, before and after for those fans too thank you
  5. I would not mind having a dtr with a cpu as efficient as the 7800x3d, giving more headroom for the gpu, whether mxm or interconnect bga
  6. Unlocker works for every version I tried for smg
  7. I've had similar issues while doing cleanups and tests without removing the mystical clevo fan control ( and service) before opening it up and disassembling it, the bios went berserk because of xmp mostly. Did some gymnastics of using the first slot under the keyboard after having the bios reset before I could use the machine again. After that I could use all the slots with xmp without issues. For context I am also using the latest clevo bios, dsanke unlocked. Once I updated the bios and unlocked it, it ran fine without issues, maybe a reflash can help
  8. 2085, I also got a +350MHz on memory, perfect for daily use, never saw much over 2100 with the normal overclocked curve anyway
  9. cheers, though I'll be honest, weirdly as this sounds I destroy those xmg ultra 17 scores, even with a 10600k, and I've seen prema machines do 13k on (iirc) timespy, but still, decently faster than the 2080s
  10. Is there any comparison between rtx2080s mxm we got and the current best 4090* for laptops?
  11. can't answer the no undervolt part, especially on cpus as relatively power hungry as these...not sure it'd be possible not to run into thermal throttle..however if you set it up to sustainable levels for daily use like I did, temps are gonna be more reliable than the stock heatsink. In my case ( 10600k) it takes an unlocked power level and 4.8Ghz or more to get over 90C, on auto fans by the way. The stock heatsink in my case was less constant and the gpu vapor chamber bent very easily..once I figured out the correct pad dimensions this new hybrid heatsink is better overall, both cpu and gpu. Worst case scenario I've seen with around 420W consumption, 76C on gpu and upper 80C on cpu, for hours and with a fan profile that wasn't pegged to the max. I was told there are new fans to be purchased by the same seller, however given their cost I'd like to first see tests if they are worth it. I should note I use Copper IHS, LM on both cpu and gpu..as far as I know it's the best that you can do without using the water loop. Portability is the same, had no issues moving it around and fitting it in its bag.
  12. my 10600k is too, LM on both cpu and gpu, in fact using my usual setup, so slight overclock and undervolt on both cpu and gpu, I got 82 C on hottest cpu point and 67C on gpu..so as said perfectly in line with yours considering the differences
  13. those temps with the system off are in line with mine, good to know, thanks a lot, also great water temps
  14. I have used the same thicknesses as described here, it's a simple question of orientation of memory and vrm, but the 2 / 1.5 / original millimeters still apply. After some trial and error regarding longitudinal dimensions etc, contact is fine on gpu, cpu, memory etc. Just my fan profile needed tweaking
  15. a different fan profile does indeed provide similar temps to yours, regardless of the differences, suppose I was expecting too much of these fans
  16. Did you by any chance use max fans on all tests other than no overclock or voltage changes?
  17. yeah I also ran some tests with nanogrease, no luck there either. Mine is overclocked but undervolted to 0.975. I think I'm gonna switch back to LM. Running full tests resulting in 400+watts yield 80C on gpu and 84 on cpu, both undervolted and overclocked.
  18. ran the same test with the new heatsink, pads, washers, kryonaut on gpu, still a good +10C offset on both gpu and hotspot. even with / without copper IHS. oh well
  19. Yes, figured as much, indeed cpu temps are fine, gpu are not, even after adding washers it's still too hot. I also replaced the old stock cpu IHS but no go there either. Still attempted your approach. Long or short springed screws do not fit in the cpu and neither do short springed onto the gpu
  20. I could try changing gpu screws to something else +washers and or springs yes..last thing I can do
  21. problem here resides elsewhere, both heatsinks, same problem on both normal thermal paste and LM.. both that improve temps when I change screws and add pads to increase pressure
  22. nice, let me know if you test in on air what temps you get. these are mine (stress tests gpu side) after numerous attempts at checking contact etc : In complete contrast to the cpu which after cinebenching doesn't go over 80 :
