  1. Try windows 7, 8.1, 11 and se if issue exists. 980m sli is officially supported on aw18
  2. I can unplug the power on all my laptops (1st gen i7 all the way to 12th gen 12700h) and all of them can run full power. did I miss something? Only gpu throttled with power adapter removed
  3. My friend and I just ordered ours yesterday. i9 13900HX 32GB RAM 1TB SSD QHD 165Hz RTX 4090 Arriving April 5th Unfortunately 13980HX isn't available yet with m18. If it becomes available before my order goes to production I may cancel and get it with 13980HX.
  4. It’s 100% confirmed this is coming to m18 and m16. Only thing is, not until Q2
  5. I'm going to be performing this same upgrade in a week. Hopefully it works out. I will try to limit mine to 90W instead of ~80W though if I can.
  6. I’ve decided to go with 980M
  7. Now the question is, can they turn on PBO and can they OC I saw someone else on reddit mention they get 34k so definitely higher than 13900hx/13980hx from factory
  8. Single Core: Multi-Core: Gaming: The main win is 120w TDP and slightly better multi-core but we will see how it performs once both 7945HX & i9 13980HX/13900HX are fine tuned. Hope the AMD cpu can be OC
  9. Looking for a OEM/Retail 920XM/940XM (no CPUs from China please, already had two bad ones from China). Located in US EDIT: FOUND
  10. It’s going inside an old Alienware M15x so probably not a good idea for me to risk a Clevo card in the M15x. Fan control works natively with Dell cards. I would really prefer M5000M as they run cooler than 980m
  11. EDIT: Bought 980M and it's working in M15x
  12. https://www.3dmark.com/compare/fs/19305249/fs/3684105 there is =] 1212mhz is definitely above the stock 135mhz limit.
  13. Maybe @TheQuentincc might also have one.
  14. Does anyone have vBIOS for M5000M and M4000M that allows OC, power limit adjustments etc? need dell or hp based vBIOS
  15. 4080 is good with 175w, it performs well. 4090 needs 225w at least so show it's strength. nVidia would be smart to push a vBIOS update to allow at LEAST 200w to widen the gap between 4080 and 4090 mobile.
  16. considering this is a kingpin card this is about as high as it gets. will be fun to see where 4090 lands in the right hands 😉 I've seen over 20k on 4080 so far which is a good start.
  17. As I suspected, the 16-core top dawg from AMD isn't going to destroy i9 13980HX
  18. 7745HX (8c). If we double score for the 16c model it would get around 37k. i9 13980HX has some competition coming
  19. I still got my SR-2 with dual Xeon X5675s =D Had 4 GPUs in it but have slimmed down to a single Titan V since I put my 2nd Titan V in my i9 10980XE rig after selling 3090Ti. Titan V SLI was fun, but it was bottlenecked by PCIe 2.0 x16 and CPU since they officially don't support SLI. https://www.3dmark.com/spy/30859401 https://www.3dmark.com/spy/30264647 https://www.3dmark.com/fs/28280971
  20. Clevo https://xoticpc.com/collections/ultimate-series-gaming-laptops/products/xotic-g370snw-g-x370snw-g
  21. If it wasn't HEDT it would be locked. Intel is purposely unlocking some SKUs for people like @Rage Set and me who buy their HEDT lineup. Remember, X58 supported both Xeon and regular i7 on the same socket/mb. The 980X & W3680 were literally the same CPU with different name. Same with X79, X99, X299. They are all Xeons, just branded to i series. They finally decided to call them all Xeons this time around. They will probably OC well just like W-3175X but require insane cooling and power. That's where the fun is. The W-2xxx series is the spiritual successor to i9 10980XE X299 platform. The W-3xxx series is basically like the W-3175X C621/C622. The good news is, this time it's all in one socket/chipset
  22. ASUS W790 Sage-WS ASRock W790 Really hope EVGA makes a SR-4
  23. W7-2495x should be able to beat 13900K. It has 24 all big cores/48 threads unlike 13900K 8+16 design. And it should be able to OC. Of course we won't know until it's publicly available.
  24. Yes there is an issue with i-226. I think an SR-4 would do okay since it would come out in the beginning of the product cycle, not to mention the 24-core 64L is similar to X299 10980XE platform, whereas the 36-56-core 112L is similar to 3175X/C621/622 platform. The good news is, they share the same socket and can be interchanged this time around. I am assuming enthusiast boards would have 8 total DIMMs (can do either 4-channel or 8-channel depending on cpu choice). The SuperMicro is a server board so it would be nice to see the enthusiast grade ones. Them prices doe. 2495x isn't too bad I guess. Similar to old 7980XE/9980XE pricing
