  1. Thanks, fixed typo. I am going Intel/nVidia personally. AMD won't have a competitor to RTX 4090 laptop, maybe 4080. Also I did some math and from my calculations, the i9 13980HX should beat out AMD'd 16c 7945HX cpu. If you are looking for portability, I may suggest the Alienware X16 instead. It should still provide most of the performance but in a thinner/lighter form factor. it is limited to 14 cores though (13900HK) so if you need all 24 cores, you will want a m16 or m18. m16 should provide most of the performance of m18.
  2. Now back in BGA form unfortunately. This is probably going to be the best laptop at CES it's looking like, especially with Clevo's all bga X370. I will be buying one and reviewing it. For now, enjoy the documents below. it will have: Intel Core i9 13980HX (highest spec) 2xDDR5 So-DIMM Slots (Official support is 64GB, but if we get 64GB DIMMs it may change) 4x NVMe PCIe M.2 slots (Don't see why one couldn't do 4x 8TB NVMe SSDs instead of their 9TB claim) RTX 4090 Laptop (150w + 25w Dynamic boost, has a 2040Mhz boost clock) 18" 2560x1600 165Hz or 18" 1920x1200 480hz display with 100% DCI-P3 Color Space 330w AC Adapter (uses same one we've used for the last decade with the option of the new SLIM version) 97Whr Battery (I am glad it's high capacity) Full vapor chamber cooling on CPU & GPU My biggest concern will be sound quality. X16 is advertised with 6 speaker sound system but m18 doesn't have any mention of sound quality. You can access the full press kit with more pics and full size documents here: Alienware Revamps its Iconic Laptop Armada at CES 2023 (alienwarearena.com) UPDATE:
  3. Click download driver and install this. Download selected Realtek drivers v10.0.16299.28163 for RTS5209 and Windows 10 64bit
  4. Yep, unfortunately. I have returned it and will be going bga as I have no other choice for now. If someone else figures it out or some other mxm variant comes along things may change but for now, RTX 5000 is the best that works in laptops.
  5. I got SK Hynix 32GB (2x16GB) DDR4 2400T RAM for my X170SM-G. How can I OC this to 2666Mhz? After that I'll try 2800mhz then 3000mhz.
  6. You can try but I heard Optimus was an issue. Follow my video, it's probably the same method. If it's a different method I'd be interested too.
  7. Here's some info on X370: https://www.clevo.com.tw/product/product_content/1/30
  8. If I can make my Titan V do SLI, you can make your RTX 2080 do SLI:
  9. We don't know what speed GDDR6 they are using yet but I would hope it's faster than last gen.
  10. 175w will be max and match 3090Ti levels on high end systems
  11. Yes use UEFI. MUX should be muxless dynamic scheme I believe. You can leave it on whatever the default one is first and see.
  12. Kepler still gets updates on desktop. I mod inf to allow my mobile kepler gpus to have latest drivers
  13. For now skip the 330w ac adapter. They are normally needed when you have dual GPUs. P4000 should work with 240w ac adapter. You will need to mod INF file to install driver. I have a video here: [I am working on a video of the easier way of doing this but probably will be in 1-2 weeks] Here's P4000 in my M18xR2: https://www.3dmark.com/fs/25466379
  14. Don't mind me, I am just warming up some old hardware https://www.3dmark.com/3dmv/5931311 https://www.3dmark.com/3dmv/5931375 Oh look I'm faster than a office laptop lol https://www.3dmark.com/fs/29140025
  15. All this talk about 6GB VRAM and here I am buying SLI GTX 590s in 2022 with 1.5GB VRAM 😄 8GB has been a thing since 880M. I am still rocking three of them in old systems. 8GB flagship in 2014 has same VRAM as a 2023 4060 9 years later LOL
  16. If your software supports it then sure. But normally it's always better to go to single fastest gpu solution.
  17. I recommend looking into a 330w ac adapter, however your current 240w ac adapter should work fine with that 1060m. Honestly it's better to get this for cheaper: https://www.ebay.com/itm/403629040424?hash=item5dfa2a6328:g:juwAAOSwOWBe0C2X&amdata=enc%3AAQAHAAAAoP43e0VJvzAeuqYCEhiLkVRc5qIal97sDu%2Fakev5X4c2g5wuOlVKrOz2jzoD9D8AzUIj2Yt84zJB7uLMwOjH%2FPZOJsNWRmxD%2BNqdYc0oI8RXD%2ByaHpY60c%2BCSwY94T%2BoqP0znAUTS3xjUERfYmiIDOoB%2Fd2nKKtwUI15VGNQitY2W9tK4xOjuy9IWgxdyyL%2F2KXP9kVM2g7EndnhlUOsBZo%3D|tkp%3ABk9SR_KppuOsYQ Both P4000 and that 1060 will not require any new heatsinks. It will plug in. For BIOS: Latest unlocked BIOS for M18xR2 is here. Flash before buying new card. Go to BIOS, look for video settings and change mode from PEG to SG. Save and then you can install new gpu
  18. No need for adapters https://amzn.to/3Cdco8P or eBay: https://ebay.us/rS1epp I have these in all of my alienwares. Even M14xR1/M17xR3 work fine.

    WTB: 780Ti

Found 2 GTX 590s, i7 980X, and a 780Ti. Going to be fun. Would need another 780Ti or two or three (blower)
  20. ~4% away in Single Core ~15% away in Multi Core vs stock 13900K Geekbench Result. Not bad, will be interesting to see final product. Intel Core i9-13900K Benchmarks - Geekbench Browser BTW: 4090 > 3090: However, a little birdy as told me the highest end 4090 can beat 3090Ti
  21. I do not. You can try contacting Eurocom since they sell 770M upgrade for M18xR1. I would try the unlocked A05 BIOS first. Then try a few vBIOS. Honestly 780M, 880M are best GPUs for M18xR1. 770M should work unless that specific one has issue. One thing to try is "SG" mode just to see if it boots up and shows up.
  22. I'm not sure but the A05 unlocked that I sent you has all the modules in BIOS updated so it might help.
  23. Not to mention Dell's warranty is still better than any other OEM I have dealt with. It;s still 1399 but at this point it might be worth waiting until Jan 3rd when Raptor Lake Mobile/RTX 4000 Mobile will be announced.
