  1. https://www.cpubenchmark.net/compare/5201vs5022/Intel-i9-13980HX-vs-Intel-i9-13900K Not bad! We will see sustained load though since this is just a benchmark.
  2. Wow you really have no idea about benchmarking. Your CPU isn't doing much work at all during the gpu test. That's the point of the gpu test and cpu test being separate, to isolate a bottleneck. Unless you are comparing CPUs 10 generations from each other, the gpu score will hardly be different with CPUs within a few gens of each other. Especially with time spy (a 2560x1440 bench) vs fire strike. 13th gen isn't a magical leap in performance. That 13th gen is performing less than your 12th gen, by your logic if he fixes his cpu score his gpu score will increase, making the gap even further, but it won't change his gpu score because he isn't being bottlenecked by a 10 year old cpu in the gpu test. My Titan V is 9.8% faster on my 10th gen i9 10980XE system in timespy over my 1st gen Xeon X5675s. 18-cores vs 12-cores and an insane amount of IPC increase and clock speed difference between these CPUs. Yet the GPU score is only 9.8% faster and some of this may be due to me doing 110% power vs 100% power in the run. https://www.3dmark.com/compare/spy/30263826/spy/25577703 Anyways enjoy your 3080Ti but don't spread false info. If we are comparing gpus to gpus, you check gpu score vs gpu score.
  3. Let's see.... 18,427 / 13,256 = 1.390087507543754 therefore based on your 3080Ti result vs this persons stock 4080 Mobile result, the 4080 is 39% faster than your 3080Ti from the number above. Oh and that result is out of the box using stock dell paste as well. and yes their cpu score is way too low, they're working on seeing what the problem is.
  4. \\Random TS result I found of the m16 with 4080. 39% faster than the 3080Ti laptop score someone posted of their laptop on page 3. 4090 is an additional 25-30% faster.
  5. Sorry, it's already installed in my system. There's a post on page 1 of this thread with the pic
  6. It's BGA. ALL laptops in 2023 (even Clevo) is full bga now. That should be possible. I did that with Area-51m R1 and that was my plan with m18
  7. Tomorrow is the release of many models, along with the 9th. Then you should start seeing more configs show up
  8. https://www.bestbuy.com/site/msi-stealth-17-3-240hz-qhd-gaming-laptop-intel-core-i9-13900h-nvidia-geforce-rtx-4090-2tb-ssd-64gb-memory-black/6532165.p?skuId=6532165 This one still has 2TB SSD & 64GB RAM yet it is $3,999.99. Do not base price just on one specific laptop sku. Once they're all out by Friday or next week we will have a better idea. There was some even cheaper than this. Looks like best buy took it down. I seen 3499 a few days ago as well.
  9. That machine is clearly overpriced. 2x2TB SSDs & 64GB RAM from OEMs are normally a rip off. Better to buy best cpu/gpu only and leave rest low end and upgrade yourself. I did that with Area-51m R1, bought my own SSD/RAM, plan to do same with m18. If you seen apple, they charge insane prices for RAM & SSD upgrade (although theirs cannot be upgraded). OEMs tend to be on the higher price as well
  10. A lot of people don't understand how strict nvidia is, especially with mobile products. OEMs can't just do what they want. After my A4500 MXM debacle I really got to work with a company to try and customize vBIOS and learned nVidia controls EVERYTHING. Simple change in vBIOS? Need to submit to Nvidia for approval and then validation.
  11. Told y'all 4090 mobile will be faster than 3090 (some even 3090Ti) The full 150w +25w boost models will be the best of course. Can't wait to play with one myself. Last laptop GPU I had was RTX 2080 (200w). Haven't had the pleasure to own 4000 series desktop GPUs but I had basically every 3000 series even 3090Ti so it'll be fun to get as much performance out of these new ones. These GPUs do better at higher resolutions, so QHD 165hz will be a good sweet spot
  12. The picture is from m16 not m18, but I assume they share a similar motherboard. We will finally find out next week though. Also, I find it crazy that most name brands such as Samsung, SK Hynix, etc. are only selling 2TB NVMe SSDs. Like...what?? Where are the 4TB drives and 8TB drives. Saberant has 4TB/8TB drives for awhile now, but Samsung still doesn't have a 4TB, crazy.
  13. I bought "1866Mhz" RAM (which has the 1866mhz sticker) but clearly it was a 1600Mhz RAM faked as 1866Mhz. Also bought on eBay.
  14. Taking a look at this pic, I see two 2280 NVMe slots, three 2230 size M.2 slots. Most likely 2x 2280 M.2 NVMe 2x 2230 M.2 NVMe 1x 2230 M.2 for Wi-Fi/BT so that's probably why it is "up to 9tb"
  15. AMD 7845 CPU performance. (Can't wait to see 7945 * 13980HX):
  16. The price isn't too bad. But it's m16 not m18, still gotta wait =/ Hope the 4090 doesn't take too long to release
  17. From what I've been told, expect to be disappointed in 4050/4060/4070 performance. 60w 4070 will probably be terrible performance. 4080 will be decent and 4090 will be good. nVidia really screwed up the 4000 mobile lineup with castrated bus width, low core count, etc. We should hopefully start seeing some numbers starting end of next week
  18. Feb 8th, but keep an eye out starting Feb 1st because some manufacturers may allow pre-orders.
  19. Nice. Looks like performance is similar. NVIDIA Quadro RTX 3000 Mobile video card benchmark result - Intel Core i7-4930MX Processor,Alienware 01W2J2 (3dmark.com)
  20. I agree, I have been using nvcleaninstall now but it can also be a bit confusing to people who have never used it.
  21. No. I ran aetina 1080 perfectly fine in aw18 and awcc is installed. also works in m18xr2.
  22. Could you do a firestrike and timespy run? Curious to see how they perform vs the adlink ones. This confirms my theory, I can put both RTX 3000 in my M18xR2 hehe
  23. Exactly, the latest V3 has a switch to help prevent this issue
