  1. I never receive reply from the developer. Does he read/write english? If not I can ask my chinese friend to submit email in chinese.
  2. Well, I guess that’s if you want an AMD system. I personally prefer intel/nvidia combo for laptops. That ASUS definitively aint better in looks though 👀
  3. Does anyone know how to edit pci device id in bios? Would be worth a shot to see if I can change pci id in bios so that it doesn't need inf mod and see if that works
  4. While this isn't as good of a deal as the $1299 black friday price, $1399 is still a decent price for this $1899 system. I personally wouldn't buy it at $1899 especially this late in the game but even at 1399 it's a good deal. There's an open box for $1049 as of this post which is really good. 5. Out of curiosity, how did you find this forum?
  6. Found some results here: As expected, the 1080p panel doesn't do the rtx 3080 justice as the performance gap between 3080 and 2080 is even less at 1080p vs 1440p. I may just keep 2070S in my SM-G unless I stumble across 3080 for cheap in the future.
  7. I bought my Alienware X14 on black friday knowing very well that Raptor Lake laptops should be out by Q1 2023. Main reasoning was...the laptop was $600 off. Even when Raptor Lake comes out it would probably be a decent amount more expensive so I said why not. I guess at this point in time though, we are very close to CES 2023 so it might be worth waiting a few more weeks to see what is coming out. Unless you are saving a significant amount or NEED the laptop ASAP for work or something, I would wait.
  8. Can someone with rtx 3080 do stock firestrike and timespy run for me? curious to see how it performs
  9. M5000M should work too. has to do with quadro having better support for higher bit display
  10. they also made 2060/2070 ones too. they are desktop cores so no eDP support
  11. This is a common problem using GTX 980M in M17xR2. Inverted Colors. Only way to get past this is so switch to a 6-bit display panel. the 8-bit panel has some conflict with GM2xx series cards.
  12. I think the eGPU enclosures you are using just suck LOL I have used Alienware Graphics Amplifier with my Area-51m R1, and a 13 R3, they work with all of the following RTX cards fine: RTX 3090Ti EVGA FTW3 RTX 3090 KINGPIN RTX 3080 XC3 RTX 3070 MSI GAMING TRIO X RTX 2080Ti PNY Blower Style In addition, I have also tested: AMD RX 6800 All of them work fine. I also tested two RTX GPUs using Razer Core X in Alienware Area-51m R1 and they work fine. I would try disabling dGPU in device manager and see if that helps
  13. I think Clevo's MXM format should be fine holding a 4090 style gpu but with lower tdp like 250w. Problem is nVidia doesn't want MXM to continue. No one is supporting MXM anymore. Clevo's biggest selling point for DTR is coming to an end. As someone who had 2x GTX 1080 (190W TDP each) in P870DM3 overclocked, I do not think thermals should be an issue if the laptop is thick and large (like 18") chassis. I think nVidia just doesn't want MXM form factor to live. They didn't even allow 3080Ti Mobile to come to MXM MXM is dead in the sense there is no new Clevo MXM next year. Embedded MXM will continue most likely The Chinese Frankenstein MXM cards are also still available but we'll see for 4000 series
  14. 13980HX may be a thing. Intel Core i9-13980HX specifications leak online - NotebookCheck.net News
  15. cheap one: US $169.99 | For PCIE to MXM converter board, laptop to desktop graphics card, compatible with RTX, GTX, AMD graphics card https://a.aliexpress.com/_mPjMcIe nvidia certified one: https://www.ebay.com/itm/125664268501?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=_LxgfDnLRKa&sssrc=2349624&ssuid=ZgSh7VW9Rem&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
  16. I wanna see 18” lga cpu mxm gpu 4k 120hz hdr1000 mini led even better audio than x170 series (tough to beat) 100Whr battery mux switch with igpu only mode support as well BUT unfortunately the MXM part isn’t coming next year so we’ll see what they come out with
  17. That MSI GT77 looks nice for a bga class notebook. however, I’m still interested to see those 18” laptops next year. Wonder if Clevo/MSI will also make them. so far only Razer and Alienware have 18” models coming
  18. I have already done this. Installed realtek and the clevo speaker/creative audio configuration driver. Still says no devices connected support atlas. does not support 11th gen
  19. Got the beast! has style note bios even though I got it from zTecPC 😕 Specs: i7 10700K 8GB DDR4 3200Mhz (I have 16GB 2400Mhz laying around, may swap for this) RTX 2070 Super 1080p 144Hz Panel AX201 (Have a AX210 I'll swap for) My sound blaster atlas kees saying no supported devices found. What audio app are we supposed to use to tune audio? My cpu doesn't seem to break over 3.8ghz even though cc is set to performnce. Doesn't this thing supposed to go above 55w cpu? https://www.3dmark.com/compare/fs/29043534/fs/28809072
  20. Unless nVidia wants to be 2nd fastest notebook gpu they will push for the crown. AMD RX 7900M (or w/e final name becomes) is looking around rx 6950 xt desktop performance. So we will see if they fine tune performance for launch. The 10/20 series GPUs were named well because they actually shared desktop specs on laptop
  21. Yeah it's quite sad. My 2080 in Area-51m gets over 27k fs stock gpu score. 3080 was around 30k stock. 10% increase. 2080 super in area-51m r2 was like 29k. We definitely won't see 10/20 level parity between notebook/desktop again on a side note my X170SM-G is coming tomorrow. Hope I made the right choice getting a cheaper new open box X170SM-G over a used pricier X170KM-G
  22. RTX 30 series wasn't full desktop level graphics cards either. But 40 series will still be faster than 30 series. 30 series was a joke on laptops. 10/20 series was the best gen in terms of having performance closest to their desktop counterparts.
  23. 4090 Mobile is based on 103 core so its based off of desktop 4080 at least 😉
