  1. It will be bios mod, flashable in windows like any other bios update. Currently you can use unlocked bios and use m2000m and most cards in 2nd slot.
  2. can you show me the post. I was under the impression sandy/ivy can't do 64gb on mobile so-dimm but if I can see what they did I can port it possibly
  3. You should be able to do 980M SLI with my mod. M2000M primary is only needed if you're doing Pascal/Turing. AMD Card might be possible too in primary to use Pascal/Turing. Amphere didn't work in 2nd slot but maybe with my bios mod it might work too
  4. yes you're probably right, thinking about it 980m lost backlight at windows login not during boot. anyways, a revised eDP cable probably needs to be made for AW systems.
  5. I will update m18xr1 bios after m17xr3 is done, it should be a simple port. I iwll look at m17xr4/aw 17 r1 after Backlight mod is not needed for windows boot if laptop is posting. 980m first worked with backlight on m17xr3, then i fixed that. using a flashlight i could see barely the screen. I don't see a PN for my cable. eDP mod doesn't work because of mxm slot being too deep
  6. I don't have a P32/42/52 to test but I am 99% sure it'll work. My RTX 4000 comes in 1-2 days so I will see if it sldo works. You need to start a diagnostic. My windows has num lock enabled when getting to the login screen. Also I enabled windows startup sound. These tell me if the computer is actually booting to windows. I've had "black screen no beeps" many times during my testing but the computer wasn't booting to windows. I already fixed PEG and ironically SG had a bug so now I am doing full SG fix. Ironically M17xR3 will surpass R4 if SG is also fixed since R3 can OC XM CPUs lol Actually after SG fix by next plan is M18x overclocking port to M17x (bios)
  7. that's on SG mode. WX7100 runs PEG eDP no bios mods. With bios mod i am running 980M, M3000M, P5000 all on M17xR3 PEG eDP. LVDS works on 980M/M3000M.
  8. I have 1080p 144hz panel in R1. If I bought the whole display assembly for R2 (4K panel). 1) Will the whole assembly fit the R1 (Are the assemblies the exact same)? 2) Will I be able to plug n play the eDP cable from the assembly?
  9. Super excited to try this in the future. my rtx 5000 is 90w. t1000 is 50w.
  10. Yup Dual PEG also constantly has 60w limit with PWR reason. Looks like I have several laptops to test this on. I'm hoping you can figure out the turing quadro vbios as well for your tool so I can increase tdp. flashing 130w lenovo vbios causes code 43 on the hp 90w rtx 5000.
  11. Interesting, this seems easier than the resistor mod someone else here pointed out. Do you think this would also fix the dual PEG power issue? Where we use a SLI laptop to put a working gpu in slot 1 and a non working gpu in slot 2 to get gpu2 to work? The issue with that one is..the gpu always runs 20-30w less than its power limit. (ex 90w gpu runs at 60w). The other question is....does this allow the gpu to exceed its power limit? would a 115w gpu be able to go higher or is that vbios limited?
  12. If you read my A4500 thread you will know flashing dell A4500 vbios allowed the laptop to boot in Optimus but the vbios mismatch causes error 43 in device manager. on my laptop the number lock light turns on when booting to windows. most likely its stuck somewhere due to no lcd detected.
  13. none of the professional cards will work. only the frankenmod 3080/4070/4080/4090 etc. I bought P5000 for more testing on R3. Will try to get RTX 4000 HP as well from the other member. there's no laptop that will work with any pro cards from ada most likely without a proper bios mod
  14. Well if you get a chance, try testing the 4070 or 4090 in the m17xr4 so people will know if it works or not. Which heatsink are you using?
  15. They're different but also similar. For example, 980M doesn't work in SG & PEG in M17xR3/M18xR1. Even Optimus has issues, when I saw RTX 5000 working on such a old platform I knew eDP would work too as long as the card vBIOS/Physical card itself supported eDP. Now I am curious of trying rtx 4000 or 5000 in M17xR3 eDP. If it works in M17xR4, it might work in R3 which would be the fastest card tested so far. So you don't have any eDP cables left for yourself to test 3080 or 4070 in M17xR4?
  16. That's awesome. being able to change TDP on Turing Quadro should help lift performance quite a bit. I have a P4000 in my M6600 in Optimus mode so I can flash it in windows but I also have a spi programmer. Also have a tesla p6 but that card is special, changing anything in its vbios causes it to code 43
  17. I disassembled whole MB, cut the nubs and it still hits the side. Do you have any eDP cables to test yourself? It's not going to work, the cable part where the pins are need to be longer for AW M17xR3/R4 MXM slot. Might just resell them since I have no use outside of AW systems. Yes I've shown RTX 5000 working in M18xR1/R2 so it's only natural it works in M17xR4. https://www.3dmark.com/3dm/115357776? eDP working is great, @TruenoG7 had rtx 3000 in his m17xr4 but mentioned the display would go out after some time. I might put rtx 5000 in my m17xr3 if I can get chicken to make a modified heatsink for r3/r4. If you have any rtx 3080/4070-4090 you can try your backlight cable and see if it works.
  18. any reason we can't use nvflashk to flash unsigned bios? being able to modify turing quadro mxm would be amazing.
  19. Give me your m5000m vbios, I will add GOP for you so it works in UEFI. Regarding RTX 3000 spark....which one was this? It shouldn't have done that unless the laptop wasn't power drained. BTW idk if you guys tested M17xR3/R4 but I cannot get the eDP cable to go in on one side (3.3v side). The MXM port on M17xR3 puts the MXM card in deep, you can't see any pins when the card is in, the cable is still hitting the side of the mxm port despite me cutting off the sides. F9E5bi1.jpeg (3024×4032) I put it in half way onto the pins but no backlight on the card. have you tested any cards using eDP mod on M17xR4?
  20. P3000 working means UEFI is now fully on. M5000M power looping is interesting. what's the exact behavior on screen well that's frustrating and would have been important to know before buying v1 cables...
  21. Try the vbios and bios I mentioned above. are you referring to the 2 nubs on each side of the mxm port? The ones that need to be cut for HP cards? I also need to cut those just for backlight mod?
  22. 675M is also a 580M, just need to flash vBIOS to 580M. Keep in mind 580M had lots of problems reliability wise. 560M is reliable but 580M I wouldn't buy unless it's cheap. No guarantee how long it will last.
  23. You bought a M17xR4 with 120hz panel? Awesome, now we can do some testing on AW platform. Now that is interesting that you cannot get them to work on eDP. Question...do you have a 60hz panel as well or only 120hz panel? According to @sliderfra you need to use dell vBIOS on those cards (maxwell, pascal) to get eDP to work. BTW Clevo 970M (my 980M is 1617 so maybe yours is 1618 device id) does NOT work in PEG on even the M18xR2 in LVDS in PEG. That is one of the things I am investigating on M17xR3 after I fix PEG on M3000M. Also I would test HP RTX 3000 as well. Make sure CSM if completely off (no legacy rom at all). You should see the "Alienware" text logo NOT the big alienware head when booting. Try these vBIOS: https://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/188273/188273 https://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/207406/207406 alternative p3000 vbios: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1cSkLAatyydOZxrcuFDXQBfJ7EGsTxxB9/view BTW there's a newer bios if you want to try: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1X3lA4FtpY1hy7lywelJMNQgjORUQT4Gm/view
  24. No, they only sell official quadro cards. There is no "official" geforce cards. All the geforce mxm cards after 2000 series are frankenmod cards with a leaked vbios that let's them work in mxm form factor.
  25. Did you also implement above 4g decoding or you only added rebar dxe? My goal is to enable above 4g decode on every laptop I have... You are literally going through what I did with A4500. At that time I tried everything possible and only solution is above 4g decoding. We need to find a way to implement it into the bios (it IS possible on ivy/haswell at least).
