  1. Very nice I'll give this a try and report back later EDIT: It works on m18 (13th gen) on Intel. Doesn't work for Area-51m R1 (9th gen), X14 (12th gen) I shall play with this now =D

  3. I see at my home computer now. SO this works on intel too?
  4. I recommend uploading them to like archive.org or something so they don't disappear
  5. I have the Alienware Area-51m R1 and Clevo X170SM-G so basically same comparison honestly. I prefer the Area-51m in every way except audio. X170SM-G has the best audio of any laptop (better than the 16" M1 Pro MBP). The X170 series are kinda annoying without a Prema BIOS. I actually am debating of getting rid of my X170SM-G. I hardly use it but only keep it around since it has the best audio on a laptop and it's Clevo's last LGA/MXM system. You can't go wrong with either system. So choose based on which you like in terms of looks, build quality, keyboard, etc. One thing to note, with a Prema BIOS the X170SM-G can support RTX 3080/3070 GPUs (also requires X170TM-G heatsink) but the GPUs alone are $$$$ Both laptops max out at 10900K CPUs. The Area-51m R2 has 2 RAM SLOTs (R1 has 4) and X170SM-G has 4 so RAM is limited to 64GB vs 128GB. If you don't need the 10-cores, a R1 with 9900K + RTX 2080 may be worth it since they're cheaper than R2. X170SM-G itself is getting harder to find.
  6. Am I missing something? Post looks blank
  7. When using nvcleaninstall, click add hardware support, for the ID, just enter the ID it shows on the right THEN when selecting the gpu from the list, just choose any M3000M you can find. Should work. I've been meaning to make a new video showing nvcleaninstall
  8. Anyone got 8GB (2x4GB) DDR2 667Mhz or 800Mhz SODIMM laying around?
  9. Here's some older systems 🙂 Most are stock runs except Area-51m R1 Alienware M15x (920XM/980M): https://www.3dmark.com/spy/37534632 https://www.3dmark.com/fs/29887901 Alienware M17xR3 (2920XM/880M): https://www.3dmark.com/fs/29773534 Alienware M18xR1 (2960XM/880M SLI): https://www.3dmark.com/fs/28053101 Alienware M18xR2 (3920XM/RTX 3000): https://www.3dmark.com/fs/29750445 Alienware 18 R1 (4930MX/RTX 3000): https://www.3dmark.com/fs/26958332 Alienware Area-51m R1 (9900K/RTX 2080): https://www.3dmark.com/fs/19316903 Alienware X14 R1 (12700H/RTX 3060): https://www.3dmark.com/fs/29515835
  10. Alienware m18: Timespy: https://www.3dmark.com/spy/37413491 Firestrike:https://www.3dmark.com/fs/29863815 CB R23 (I have a higher score somewhere but this will do for now):
  11. Anyone got one of these lying around still? Preferably one in excellent condition and still working lol. https://pcper.com/2008/09/dell-xps-m1730-notebook-review-intel-core-2-duo-x9000-powered/ EDIT: FOUND
  12. If it works fine with LVDS panel in AW 17 and works fine in AW 18 then I assume it is some sort of conflict with the 120Hz panel. Does the 120hz panel work fine with older GPUs after 20-30 mins?
  13. Honestly, it shouldn't make much of a difference. The important thing is for SG mode since Optimus may not work correctly with inf mod made for PEG.
  14. I wouldn't get a replacement, get a refund. Better off getting ones of these: P4000: https://ebay.us/QRgFn9 P5000: (I highly recommend "making an offer" on this one or wait for a cheaper one to appear. I saw one for 349 last month): https://ebay.us/DaKc4b P4000 should give you 1060 performance P5000 will give you around 1070 performance
  15. Try updating the BIOS to latest 1.8.1
  16. Wait so what was the issue with 1.7.0? Why is everyone staying on 1.6.0? Did 1.7.0 remove any options in bios?
  17. Any news on if this bios improves things? Would love to be able to use my 5600mhz 64gb kit at 5600 instead of 5200.
  18. I've never purchased the 1060/1070 from China. They are all frankenstein cards and not official ones, making them unreliable. Wouldn't be surprised if you bought a P4000 Quadro MXM and it worked right away.
  19. You had working drivers earlier in the thread. vBIOS should be left as is. My setting is supposed to help with bsod and card not working properly when drivers are actually properly installed. If you follow the video you should be able to do it.
  20. The caddy itself should be fine whether it's for R1 or R2 The cable is the one you want for the correct laptop. 2 port version for R1 3 port version for R2 to make 3 HDDs work in R1, you need 2 drives the in hdd caddy then remove the optical drive and get a optical drive hdd caddy to get 3 drives.
  21. Maybe I'll make a video this weekend on how to use ru.efi to disable undervolt protection, even though it should be disabled.
  22. If using SG mode edit nv_display.inf If using PEG edit nvdmi.inf The values are different and they are optimized for either Optimus or PEG. You can also alternatively use nvcleaninstall to mod the inf automatically which makes it a lot easier.
  23. Click Start>Settings>System>Display>Graphics>"Change default graphics settings">Turn off "Hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling"
  24. I already enabled xmp and other memory features, but problem is, I don't know what to change for the timings because I can't find the values when using ru.efi
