  1. @wilpang Hows the system going? did you manage to solve the issue ?
  2. Goodluck bud. Let us know how it goes.
  3. Did you disable Intel ME before the issue came about?
  4. That is completely upto you. The change log log has all the info. I just make the nodded packs. Normally sound issues are fixed or security bugs with updates. However if you still have access to the old driver your currently using you can always flip backwards.
  5. Now that is some solid solid advise right there. It is a shame about JTAG being disabled in commercial boards as that would help pinpoint the issue.
  6. Nope the first picture is using stock oem thermal pads the second is using GELID thermal pads. The paste used on both is Kryo Extreme hence why its pink. @KING19what thermal paste are you using ?
  7. Really strange. I take it screen is still blank? Is the GPU and CPU getting warm on boot?
  8. Which pads the top set or bottom, as top set was when i got the laptop from PCS so OEM pads the bottom set are GELID's however i got the wrong sizes like a muppet.
  9. That is very true however for me it needs to be clean clean else OCD kicks in anyways. My love for brasso came from many getting punished moments, whilst in cadets which was either Toothbrush tp clean the toliets or clean everything thing that was made of brass. Back on topic, brasso will also kinda lap the cooler a little as its an abrasive too, Just make sure you do a full clean after with isopropyl alcohol as this is very important.
  10. For EC chip, your looking for either one marked iTE or ENE its normally near the CPU socket or the PCH and its a square chip with a lot of pins. However an EC chip can fully brick a system if you mess up on the flashing.
  11. @razor0601Remember to do the 3 Dumps and checksum checking between them before flashing.
  12. It might be safer to go the SPI Flashing route to see if that helps. However before you do that, probe the Power circuitry just in case as there is no point flashing bios/ec if it turns out to be a power circuitry issue.
  13. Not even sure if there is a clip for that which means finding an adaptor and desoldering the chip. I take it CMOS reset on the clevo's does a EC reset too right ?
  14. It could even EC Firmware being corrupt, although how one will go to flash that if its not even getting through post is another thing. Else if GPU is working fine then it most likely mainboard for sure.
  15. @Vasudev Like i already said and hinted! Use Brasso it will get rid of them nasty spots then clean with isopropyl alcohol, it is how i do my heatsinks. Basically i apply brazo to a kitchen towel then rub it till the towel is black, i then wipe it all off and then place a another coat and then let it dry and buff it off. Once done i use isopropyl alcohol to clean away the brazo fully. Mine had the same markings but after brasso it look like the image attached. Before: After:
  16. Welcome back once again, and yes 4th, 5th , 6th, 7th, 8th gen requires APO3
  17. If thats the Carbon nanotube sheet (Sorry i had to) then on the GPU cover them little resistors with conformal coating as that stuff is electronically conductive. Also my OCD is triggering with that heatsink copper plate too makes me want to get my braso out and 99% isopropyl alcohol. Edit: Crap OCD triggered if i am not back in 24 hours it means i am looking for a new mainboard for my laptop again!
  18. Check to see if a thermal pad hasn't doubled itself up thus making incorrect contact on the GPU die as that is normally the case for a GPU running hot in this system.
  19. Ok nice one however looking at your files i see what you have done. - Copying ID's from the APO3 to APO4 will make it install However the issue is the EQ's will not work due to the system's .nsx files not being in NH3ProductSettings.cab . You can't extract and repack the two versions of the NH3ProductSettings.cab into one NH3ProductSettings.cab because it is signed and checked by the UWP. Its a great attempt though bud. This was what i was after getting the community working together to make the best driver.
  20. Will add you to testers list, as for OpenWrt did you install a R.A.T on my system LOL. Yes its openwrt, trying to compile it for a router that came with QSDK.
  21. Any one running M.2 Heatsinks on this laptop? If so where did you get them from as my SSD on PCI-E 4.0 is sitting at 60c on a WD SN750 whilst the PCI-E 3.0 ones are at 55c without load.
  22. So true on finding used proprietary designed parts. Still don't personally see why they are trying to reinvent the wheel to be honest SO-DIMM has been around since the age of the square wheel and has been working perfectly fine, but then again the are after a laptop thats like 0.1nm thick because thinner always means better not!.
  23. The back bottom part of the cover has like a foam stopper on it to jam the clip in place but yes i can see glue being effective too.
  24. Is that all thats been release? If so i will download the file ready when a new driver comes out for Realtek Audio. As currently i am working hard on porting a router to another firmware software which is taking most of my time and server time right now. I mean i have been compiling, testing, compiling, testing, compiling and testing for over a week now.
