  1. If you have ethernet to every device than the AC68U is just fine. If you were stuck with lots of wireless devices like me, you'd be comping at the bit to upgrade. I still have an AC68U in my closet for backup in case something were to die.
  2. They look fine to me, the important note will be the limitation of 50MB of storage space for each user. There will likely be a donator role with increased storage space.
  3. Ugh, who signs a 5 year lease? I'm not even sure I'll be in the house I bought for 5 years.
  4. No, but I can tell the difference, we all have our hobbies...
  5. Right now I'm using my Alienware aw3821dw. I got a "good deal" on it, but it was still pretty expensive (most of the cost was offset by selling my old AW3420DW). I really like the increased real-estate and faster refresh rate. Colors look good as well. I'd love to look at the new OLED gaming monitors, but I continue to worry about burn in with them.
  6. Streaming even at "4k" is far inferior to true 4k films. Having said that I only watch a handful of movies a month so it's worth it to buy them instead of paying for a reoccurring service that may or may not have what I want to watch. I also have amazon video for all of the little stuff. But yes all of that storage for media, games, pictures, hundreds of gigs worth of backups (including for other family members), and hundreds of gigs worth of resources from my days in engineering school and medical school. All of it besides the media and games gets backed up multiple times and online as well.
  7. After test driving it for a few days it's far superior in every way. Bummer is the battery life is the same even though it's a bigger battery. Cameras are spot on which is perfect.
  8. You would be fine to run those, but my only word of caution is I believe that to access those two slots you have to take the motherboard out which could be painful. If it's roughly the same price for 2x16GB of faster ram, that's the route I would go with.
  9. I do not need any more games, lol, but I'll probably buy it just to support the cause.
  10. Hah I think I had a similar toshiba back in the day. How'd you come across this site if you don't mind me asking?
  11. Ripping 4K blu-rays has been my biggest use of space. My games folder is also rapidly growing thanks to free games on Epic and the crazy amount of space new games take...
  12. Don't apologize for your English, it's better than some native speakers, lol. Welcome to the forum!
  13. Funny I just heard an interesting podcast from a psychiatrist's point of view on chess. It appears there are therapeutic benefits to chess. The latter part also talks about the incidence of psychosis in high level chess players - spoiler alert, it seems some of the characteristics of certain schizophrenic patients lends itself to being very good at predicting an opponent's moves. https://www.thecarlatreport.com/blog/cognitive-enhancers-the-brain-on-chess/
  14. Agreed, if it wasn't basically a free upgrade to go from my S21 to a S22 Ultra, I wouldn't have done it.
  15. Yeah I'm contemplating ordering a 12900k and a Unify-X board given my inability to run more than 1.435v through the ram on my Strix board. I really have spent too much $$ on this sidegrade from my 5900x, lol...
  16. I typically donate to the animal shelters, but am a firm believer in trying to help out as well.
  17. @Mr. Foxgood call on the MSI MEG Z690 Unify-X, it will serve you well when it comes to memory overclocking. I'm having issues with my Asus Strix not posting if "high voltage" mode for the memory is turned on. That means I'm stuck at 6400mhz @ CL32.
  18. It's not really a huge difference, so far DDR5 isn't really panning out on being much better than DDR4, but that's common with new ram technology. It'll probably be a while before DDR5 really helps in things.
  19. I love sushi, too bad time for date night with the wife is hard to find. Last purchase for the PC was Oloy 6200mhz CL32 DDR5 ram. So far I'm happy with it even if I haven't had much time to tune it.
  20. Everyone has different tolerance to refresh rate. For me, I can tell when a setting is wrong and my monitor is limited to 60hz. Having said that, I can still game with pleasure at 60hz, but if given the choice I'd rather at least 120hz...
