  1. Oh, be you sure. I had a longer article about the flow z13 in the old NBR forum. A stupid concept. And I have no problem with tablets. Just call it what it is. A tablet and not a laptop. If people want a laptop, then don't try lure people into a tablet and say its a laptop. This would be the same as say a motorbike is a car. Or a plane is a boat🙂
  2. I like tests that can show results with the differents setups. Hence I posted it. But I know most of you knew this. But nice to see the temp differences in real life. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- It seems Nvidia want that the gamers buy 3 years old re-hashed cards. Or push them into the 4080@1200$ cards. I hope Nvidia will lose on this once AMD is out with their next gen cards at sub 1000$. No One should buy 3 years old "new" re-hashed cards without getting a massive discount. This just show how Nvidia treat their customers when they buy new lreleased cards... You won't get the full performance potentiale in the products. New cards as this should come at 1/4 of the official release price from 3 years ago. New is equal old or EOL if the arch/tech is 3 years old. People want new cards. Not re-hashed cards from 3 years old stock of silicon. If they want old, they can just find old on the used market. Why should I buy 3 years old cards in the retail stores for premium when I can find a lot used on the used market? Geforce RTX 4060 is said to be delayed until the summer Nvidia's top segment in the RTX 4000 series can be found on store shelves, but the simpler models are speculated to be delayed for at least another six months. Yep, Nvidia will offer cheaper cards than the 1200$ 4080 this Christmas/new year 2022/23.... NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Ti with GDDR6X memory expected to completely replace the GDDR6 variant Colorful launches GeForce RTX 3070 Ti with GA102 GPU, same clocks but higher power
  3. Dell is in forefront or Apple's equal into being trendsetters. Not all can turn a laptop into a tablet and still call it a laptop😃 Is this a Joke bro @Mr. Fox ? Just remove the KB and push people intot their shop buying a small flimsy keyboard. Big win and increased profits, for DELL. Why is it so easy to fool buyers?🤔 But to function as a true laptop replacement, it needs the XPS Folio accessory (a $100 add-on), which is a kickstand, keyboard, and cover all in one. 5. Top 75th Pifast. All above use exotic cooling. Yep, 13th gen is a nice overclocker so I think it's more in the tank🙂 https://hwbot.org/submission/5126548_papusan_pifast_core_i9_13900k_8sec_880ms 6th for GTX 980 and 40th GLOBAL 1X GPU RANK - 3DM 2001 SE 🙂 https://hwbot.org/submission/5126459_papusan_3dmark2001_se_geforce_gtx_980_209306_marks
  6. Some birds tell me that the price target for the next gen higher end gaming laptops will be around 5000$. Damn nice price for half the performance, HaHa. Happy I don't have to deal with this idiocy anymore.
  7. @Mr. Fox Nice improvements on the temps🙂 https://hwbot.org/submission/5125565_papusan_aquamark_geforce_gtx_980_589761_marks?recalculate=true
  8. The title fits nex gen mobile graphics cards as hand in gloves. Could be Nvidia this time will offer an bizarre GPU upgrade for the laptop-jockey's if this rumors is somewhat correct. 9. Could be Nvidia this time will offer an bizarre upgrade for the laptop-jockey's if this rumors below is somewhat correct. The furture looks grim for people that still prefer laptops. NVIDIA RTX 40 Mobility Series GPUs Detailed: 30% Performance Gain Over Last Generation, Launch Date And More
  10. The end results will be equal bad as the wheel replacement below. You pay perhaps only 1$ for this pad but you lose 1$ on the paste you already have done. Then 1$ on top for the needed thermal paste after your testing. So it will be +3$, LOOL Then I havent add in the shipping 🙂 So forget that 1$ numbers brother😃
  11. Waste of money if you want best coolig performance. But here you go. See the whole video if this pads is of interest
  12. If you mean package power then nope. But desktops have over the double the thermal headroom vs the most powerful laptops. And the thermal gap will be wider as the laptops will become even thinner/lighter. 18 inch sized laptops won't change this. Because they are equally messed up as its smaller siblings. Again... The results from the 18 inch Razer book isn't much to be happy about when you know how much more cooling it could offer with proper sized design. Modern 18 inch laptops ain't much wider than old gen 17,3 laptops due the narrow bezels. Shrink the thicness to make an 18 inch laptops more appealing/portable is just dumb. Yep, Intel and the notebook OEMs is very keen talk up burst clock performance for laptops. Even low power processors have high boost clocks that will fail under higher prolonged load. Today's modern hardware will use a lot more juice to reach the last 5-10% performance uplift. Last gen processors as etc Raptor lake will benefits greatly from better cooling. Mostly the only limitation to reach higher boost clocks (overclock). Even more than with Alder lake. So in short, what will lack with for laptop processors.... Weak cooling due design (in all ways), ram speed limitation and cramped TDP. You just can't make it awesome with these restrictions. Laptops is meant for portable nowadays. Gone is the laptops we knew as DTR (equal performance for laptops and desktops). If you need performance... Forget laptops and go for desktops (gaming & work). A laptop can often be replaced with an phone or tablet. Or just buy the cheapest laptop you can find. But a phone can't replace a real desktop. As you can see... The performance difference between laptops and desktops will only be widen. The reason isn't the hardware in itself but the cramped laptop design + capped power budget. https://hwbot.org/submission/5114826_papusan_cinebench___r23_multi_core_with_benchmate_core_i9_13900k_44878_cb
  13. And you'll get fantastic features as subscription services deeper into the Windows 11 operating system. Isn't that nice? You will also get more nice features as etc websites recommendations to Start menu. Microsoft will do everything for you. Just pick the right OS Yep, Microsoft make their latest and greatest worse and worse for each new major update. Can't beat that. A OS filled with useless features only to gain themself. Microsoft explains why it won't add seconds to Windows 11.....
  14. 12900K clocked 5.5GHz on the P-cores ... Half of the E-cores but 4.3GHz on those 8 small cores, crush the 13900HX results above... 12900K 8P-8E max (5.5/4.3) does above 22700. 13900K should do around 24500 in Geekbench 5. The 5.4GHz on the P-cores is for two cores for the mobile HX chips. Then you have castrated TDP. See it this way. You can't make magic if you lack the tools in your toolbox And where will they cap the power limits for mobile 13900HX ? Same as for the desktop chips or equal 12th gen HX mobile? And Geekbench benefits heavly from faster DDR5 ram sticks. Where will the laptop OEM put the cap for ram speed in their limited sBios? And cheapo made small motherboards isn't the best choice for ram tuning. +24K in Geekbench 5 is 20% overclock vs the Geekbench 5 results shown from the Razer-Turd above. Stock 13900K@5.5/4.5 (253W) all core load. The mobile HX need to surpass those limits to be able to reach the performance target you describe.
  15. Even more stupid. AIC partners can put the 12VHPWR connection whatever way they want. Upside down or opposite. See here.... ASUS TUF 4090 (The latch will come on top of the card) is the card who have seen most smoke and fire. Nvidia's 4090 FE the oppsite. And one thing for sure... I don't think there have been sold loads more of the TUF cards from Asus than the FE cards from Nvidia or other brands 4090 models.. Edit The TUF is overrepresented regarding fire and smoke. About 1/3 of all the affected cards is branded TUF only on reddit's mega fire thread. Is this just a coincidence or just bad luck. Pick whats fits. Or just add in what buyer groups will go for the custom Asus card. But more adult people prefer the Nvidia design. So maybe there is not a coincidence that you have seen less of the burned up 4090 FE cards? Food for thoughts. Btw. I don't think CableMod and other custom cable mod vendors are that happy about the smoke and melting finds. If people can learn how to attach Nvidia's cable spaghetti adapter correctly, there will be less fire and less need for custom cables. CableMods vs nvidia = 0-1 🙂
  16. Got the answer here... Yeees.. Why pin the Nvidia disaster thread on top of nvidia reddit main page? Perhaps due bad publicity for Nvidia? Or is there another sensible reason for unpinning the mega thread?
  17. Maybe the few wanted the custom cards instead and let the 4090 FE cards melt? Just say to tech support that you don't dare have this firework in your house anymore so ask them for refund😀 Many have tried make it burn so just ride over on youtube for guides, LOOL Anyway... Maybe nvidia will post a official mounting guide? The short guide in the GPU box is probably not enough. And I think its very needed 🙂 NVIDIA 16-Pin 12VHPWR Cable Connection Guide For GeForce RTX 4090 & RTX 4080 Owners Btw. Some wonder why... Hmm...why this megathread deleted from main page? Maybe Nvidia reps have asked the mods to hide it?😀 And yep, the mods for the nvidia reddit forum won't tell the truth. Hide it in between a loads of other more or less useless threads, is a smart move. I remember when the smoking posts pop up first time on reddit. The lead mods closed them one by one in a damn fast speed. Said they added links to them in the mega thread. So No need to post in them. This way... None could post anything in any of them. Nice done.
  18. You shouldn't need to do so. Dongles is the "Apple and Dell" way to fix own stupidity. A real MB manufacturer shouldn't push people into the parts stores to make it work. Approve stamp = failed!
  19. Yep, you know how to do it properly, but a lot people won’t. See edit and about Jonny_Guru 🙂
  20. There is a latch but weaker than the one for old 8 pin connectors from my understanding. A new desiged 600w power connector should be 100% “idiot safe”. There is a few people that just can’t mount it properly. Even Corsairs R&D Jonny_Guru said he failed several times mount it properly. Edit: The 16-pin cable has a “small” latch mechanism underneath the anchor which doesn't seem to do the job well. It is easy to come out and even when fully plugged in, the connection can come out loose in certain cases.
  21. New has to be better. Huuh? change only for the change often come with downsides (Engineers doesn't always see their own stupidity). https://wccftech.com/nvidia-16-pin-12vhpwr-cable-connection-guide-for-geforce-rtx-4090-rtx-4080-owners/ AMD gear up before the launc of their new graphics cards😄 AMD Exec Burns Nvidia Over Melting Connectors And Nvidia will offer a huge performance uplift for their 4060. Whats the point upgrade from 3060 to 4060 if this will be the end results? And why buy 4060 over a discounted 3060 if that happen? People want new so you may be able to find a cheaper used 3060 forwards. RT is pretty useless for this type cards, so... GeForce RTX 4060 could be 20% faster than the RTX 3060 with a bigger price tag and lower power consumption After the launch of flagship RTX 40 models from Nvidia, the wait has begun for affordable RTX 4060 SKUs that are expected to start showing up next year. GPUs are headed in the wrong direction theverge.com Editorial: Nvidia’s latest flagship RTX 4080 and AMD’s RX 7900 XT are inflated more than inflation itself — and that’s not normal. We’re in the middle of a dramatic economic downturn, if not an outright recession — we’ve had 15–16 percent inflation since 2020, when Nvidia and AMD released their last flagship GPUs. But the RTX 4080’s starting price is 71.5 percent more expensive than the RTX 3080. AMD’s 7900 XT is 38.5 percent more expensive than the 6800 XT. When my colleague Tom reviewed Nvidia’s new graphics card, he did find it 50 percent faster than the previous generation, but such gains aren’t unheard of gen-on-gen without a corresponding jump in price. And I’d argue that performance is almost beside the point. Both Nvidia and AMD regularly release uber-enthusiast class GPUs like the 3090 Ti or Titan with excess memory and / or exotic cooling for those who’ll pay for every scrap of performance, but the 4080 and 7900 XT aren’t those: they’re the “normal” flagships, and both companies are now targeting that kind of GPU at a more exclusive audience.
  22. It's last place again for Microsoft Defender, this time in AV-Comparatives' Windows 10 test neowin.com · 5 hours ago 13 AV-Comparatives recently released its Performance test for the month of October 2022. In the evaluation, Microsoft Defender was found to be the worst offender with the highest performance impact.
  23. If nvidia have denied replacements for burned cards now... It would be bad for the reputation. But what will happen a year or two forwards? HaHa😃 The first I would look after when I buy a used 4090 card... The 16-Pin '12VHPWR' connector😄 The added fancy features as Ray-tracing save nvidia's day. RX 7900 XTX, 7900 XT vs Nvidia RTX 4090 vs RTX 4080 performance preview using AMD's own data neowin · 8 hours ago 8 Nvidia has now launched the RTX 4090 and the 4080 Ada Lovelace SKUs. Meanwhile, AMD is set to launch its own RX 7900 series GPUs in less than a month. In this article, we estimate how they stack up... As one would expect, AMD's second-gen ray tracing performance is still nowhere close to Nvidia's third-generation capabilities on the RTX 40-series. In fact, in one instance out of the three, even the RTX 3090 Ti manages to trounce the RX 7900 XTX by a healthy margin. Though, there is a lot to like about the upcoming AMD cards too. The RX 7900 XTX seems to be comfortably outperforming the RTX 4080 in rasterization while being $200 cheaper. In one case, even the 7900 XT manages to beat the 4080. However, bear in mind that these are first-party numbers we are using here for AMD, and it's just three games that may well be cherry-picked. Now its up to the buyers to choose between "nice to have features" or lower cost.
  24. None know the sales numbers, but I think Tomshardware senior editor have more info on this than the average Joe. New will always sell out.... so...
  25. Microsoft change all the time so why bother with the beta OS ? You never know what you get in the next Windows Update. Win 11 is as a ticking bomb. And often updates that no-one have asked for. Windows 11 KB5019980 replaces search bar glass icon with a new large text button windowslatest.com - November 13, 2022 Windows 11 KB5019980 is available for users outside the beta testing program and it comes with a lot of features, including tabs support in File Explorer and more. KB5019980 is a mandatory security update published...... In other words, t’s likely that you already have the update applied to your system and changes like tabbed File Explorer or taskbar overflow UI are now live. Yep, security Updates is well worth to install (sarcasm).
