  1. I want to buy 650Ti Boost 2GB cards and work my way up. Its been way too long since my last submission, I've got a bunch of wares up for sale locally I suppose I could put some of it up here at some point
  2. Seems reasonable, ill add it to the action list.
  3. Good Evening Ladies and Gents, Tonights inquiry is focused around the plausibility of repairing a Dell P2715Qt 4K monitor that I have had for a while. Its been sitting in a closet for a while since I moved to my new residence but towards the end of its service it would on occasion simply not turn on and sometimes had issues detecting input from one of my PC's. At the time I was using an mDP cable but before moving it stopped turning on altogether. I re-tested tonight and it did come back on, detected display. Obviously excited, I formally connected it again and back to not turning on. I suspect the power supply may have died? I will attempt to take it apart tomorrow afternoon to get to it but in the mean time, it seems that the PSU is hard to source right now. Linked below: https://shockedelectronics.com/dell-monitor-p2715qt-power-supply-board-l4230-1-748-a0c04-0011 Does anyone have better google-fu skills than I? I cant seem to find many options for sourcing a replacement, I only found 1 and it came out to be 90 USD Will post pictures tomorrow when I open her up Thanks!
  4. To be fair the gpu is highest failing component and that has been fairly consistent over time. It's also worth mentioning that can be mitigated with proper maintenance in most machines. I've been liking Lenovo's offerings for a bit. Don't need anything myself but compared to the y410p era where their expansion slot became vaporware, they seem to have been making better choices of late.
  5. The legion lineup has been very well received on the cooling front. Of course its good practice to verify as well though
  6. 330w is just the cheapest high volume option but it works well for me on my p750fm 9700f @ 4.5ghz and a 190w gtx 1080 It helps that Dell typically used them too for their precision lineup in the past, not sure if it's still the case or not
  7. You cant put a price on peace of mind, which is why its included in the listing 🙂
  8. RTX 2080Ti seems perfectly tamed with the Accelero Xtreme IV 🙂 Find it hard to believe what tames the RTX 2080Ti cant tame the RX 5700 XT beyond incompatibility or user error. Seeing as how in the video from that idiot he displays the cooler working just fine for someone else, then notes that there is only a backplate instead of heatsinks for the vram. I conclude, he is an idiot. Im sure he puts in effort, but it feels like a quantity over quality channel.
  9. It released in 2012 iirc so it had quite a long life span, it likely became more difficult to source the raw materials during covid and I have no idea where they do the actual manufacturing. Anyhow, it and the morpheus 2 became the only options for aftermarket cooling after a while and the morpheus 2 has less compatibility issues due to its all mass and nothing else approach (which is also attractive) You should be able to find more reviews with the accelero and the 1080ti, not sure how many tried it with the 2080ti. Anyhow, a lot of inquiries for the accelero on reddit were typically met with "waste of money" or "same cooling as aib".
  10. Yeah! That was its competition to arrive much later. I also like that cooler but the Accelero IV was the cooler that always got away due to circumstance. I plan to own both and use them for HWBOT submissions, the Accelero would be a personal achievement, the Morpheus II would be much more practical for submissions.
  11. The Arctic Accelero IV does not come with VRAM heatsinks, those you buy yourself.
  12. In those terms its likely to be a damned if you do and damned if you dont kind of scenario. If they followed their Nvidia's badging it would just be a "Cheap knockoff" but if they didnt its what we get now. Was never really a fan of the SC cards with the slightest of bumps which granted the same imperceptible level of performance gain. I honestly just see it as a V2, but Nvidia also used that as well with all the LHR mess. What they should've done is just calling it like it is, 6900 XT 18Gbps and a beefy cooler. We would criticize price of course because nothing is perfect but arguing price is pretty common at this point. NBT can no longer tolerate your input until such a time that your editorial practices better reflect the gamers values (hint: its not rasterization) (double hint: This is in jest :3) Its promising to see AMD doing well, or at least much better than they had before with Phenom II and AM3+. Thanks to that it seems I may have Mr. Fox bundle as a primary and my AMD 2700x as a offloading system. Thats 18 cores, not to mention my Windows frankentop which is 8 cores. Just a few years ago everything was 4c/8t. At least for what my budget could accept lol. My 5700XT let me OC to 1080ti levels so I was quite happy with that. Maybe my next card will be the rtx 2080ti as I may be able to get my hands on a accelero xtreme IV 🙂
  13. Its basically the weird gray area between re-badge and refresh. Same chip, faster memory. Does it help? Sure. Is it worth pursuing? not really. Even for mining as of currently it has about the same as the 5700xt, though I suppose it needs some time to mature. I still want a 6900xt but my finances and opportunities just didnt line up this time around.
  14. Ah yes, the simple means to the same result is a grow tent. I plan to use freely accessible items (to me) which would be card board, HVAC tape and additional mass from decommissioned systems, such as blade servers and fans from desktops and servers. Everyone's use case will be different, but it will be good to get the idea's out there for others to connect their own dots and share 🙂
  15. Good Evening Chaps! I wanted to start a discussion regarding cheap and efficient means of ducting heat from say, a mining system in a bedroom, to an obvious outlet. Obviously I would start with my own little project. I am hoping for this thread to be beneficial to other miners who may live in warmer climates. The second order effect to this that I would like to encourage better practices for maintaining Computer components, there is plenty of e-waste as it stands. There will always be a limit to what can be done to keep things viable, no reason to not try! Pictures to follow shortly for the canvas I am currently working with I have a total of 10 GPU's to get sorted 🙂
  16. In other news, I just purchased 5x Lamptron CFP30 since they were 7 USD each on that TitanRig website. They handle 120w each and would do well for controlling the fan speed of for a few of the GPU's as I am replacing the the GPU fans with 3x 92mmX38mm 106CFM fans. Had to rewire them but thankfully due to the connector and terminated end it was relatively simple task to complete. Also finished rinsing off my heatsinks in the shower 🙂
  17. Well the scary part is if for what ever reason petro isnt traded in USD, it too would flop quite quickly in a similar fashion. I do like the idea of less control from the Gov't but im under no illusions as only a couple of coins truly follow that principle, of which I own none. I wouldnt put my savings into crypto, too young and volatile imho. I do like the mining aspect of it all, and if I am alerted to one of my coins doing extremely well I will pay more attention to it but otherwise I just let it accrue. While I obviously have a stake in the argument, getting rich would basically mean enough to take care of my student loans and fix up my car. You wont find any Lambo's in my garage 🙂
  18. Me neither, I dont spend money in the crypto space, I mine eth and play with that.
  19. Since it hit rock bottom I bought up 600k coins, hopefully it bounces back at some point. If not oh well.
  20. I remember being incredibly disappointed when I bought my ex the GE40 a while back. We opted for the super drive adapter. The Msi store front was just a unit much like you would find at a shopping mall from the west, in yongsang south Korea. They just plopped it open and punctured the warranty sticker and placed another on top when they were done. The afterglow of msi never returned for me but I did like the F5 as a product.
