Everyone, its time to decide our brand!
Reciever replied to Reciever's topic in Internal Announcement Discussion
Polls will be closed at 10PM CST today! The change will occur at a future date as soon as we make sure the transfer will work out without any downtime. Once we have a target window for when this will occur but for now I dont want to paint @Hiew into a corner. -

I would actually build out a water loop for my mining crap so I could have lower fans. -
Windows 11 showed up in the warehouse already. To be fair its not exactly a perfect operation, but still, annoying.

Framework is a step in the right direction but it's not much different as it's also bga. I look forward to what they come up with next but as of now I can't seem to muster interest for it. I don't mind bga laptops for the cpu but the gpu unless I am mistaken is the highest failing component, and makes little sense to use that strategy.

Only one way to find out!

That happened to me a couple of times as well and is repeatable, at the time I assumed it was because I use brave and/or waterfox. It may be a matter of time, but I will consult with Hiew and see if additional research is needed.

Not sure how I feel about having the same acronym as the The Hallmark Channel -

Stopped watching GoT after season 1, never went back to it, no real interest to do so either. I really enjoyed Elementary, but I forgot about Witcher season 2. Will probably watch that soon.... Or tonight lol

Been wanting to try my hand at pfsense for a while now. Haven't had the time 😞 Been hearing good things though, save for that odd situation with it and opensense.

My memory is light on this but I recall to some degree the marketing for Windows 10 "to be the last OS" to be released by Microsoft? I've not heard good things thus far for Windows 11, while I am aware its still "new", just like in games if they want to charge full price then why am I beta testing the product? If anything I will probably get Windows 10 LTSC for my remaining systems and continue to make strides in Linux, Im hopeful with the steam deck around the corner it will invigorate more development for games in Linux. I have only been lightly dabbling with Linux, mostly Manjaro since its running Arch and is relatively simplified

In my line of work there is no blue can, only wrapped pallets of equipment. Here's the kicker, much of it is untouched, unused, still in original packaging. Nonprofits are no better than for-profit in my estimation. Although some may be remiss in this line of thought, I do hope Clevo see's the light and goes AMD for their next DTR on AM5. I imagine they dont want to redesign their flagship every couple of years because intel decided it wants a new socket. I doubt it will make any ripples, but Intel needs to be put on notice on that (plus I could have a Clevo laptop in the future)

Thanks for the endorsement, we still have loads to do and even more we want to do. Still learning as we go so certain things may take longer than we expect but we will get there 🙂 -

I dont know if its something I make optional, but I think some may appreciate having that choice for themselves. I cant guarantee anything as Hiew is the veteran but as we all know, what we learn as a hobby and what we need to learn can differ. For now it will be left as is since its working well but I did want to ping you guys since you post many links, pictures and embeds. I will ping @Mr. Fox again in the near future for some things that may interest you, as with all things it comes down to a function of time, happy posting until then fella's ! -

Yes I observed this behavior as well particularly when you scroll quickly. It does retain the pictures after the first instance, but of course refreshing the page makes it "the first instance" all over again. Yes I did get a little feedback elsewhere on that particular topic. I'll look into how we can host larger pictures longer term. I will do some research to see if this behavior can be altered on a user level or if there are means to mitigate the page jerk, it allows for smoother initial load times but especially in this thread, it can lead to less than desirable experience. -
That patch looks quite substantive, glad to see they put their money where their principles are.

Good Lord, Newegg too? I only buy off the second hand market so I dont tend to see much of the retail practices these days. Used to buy from Newegg exclusively but stepped away around the time I used laptops full time. EDIT: Just wanted to ask as I know the Desktop / Benchmarks thread was picture heavy but have things been working well here? I believe the methodology we used was to load as you scroll so that it becomes more performance agnostic for individual members. -

Thanks to @Aaron44126 attention to details, I realized that I incorrectly listed Notebooktalk.com, what we had acquired was actually Notebooktalk.net and I have made the change in the poll options to reflect that. -
Notebook Review forum archive – NBRCHIVE
Reciever replied to Aaron44126's topic in General Discussion
These are all being explored in due time. That being said, NBR is gone. There is no database as we were never granted access to it. We did archive nearly everything that we could which was a majority of the site. So while its currently out of reach for most, its not gone. Once we flesh out a few other things I will present means for how people can contribute, just depends on timing and means etc etc since its only myself and @Hiew paying the bills currently. Also @mention's work the same way as before so be sure to take advantage of that function :)- 150 replies

Zotac 1070 needed the MSi vBIOS in order to work on the internal panel for the Ranger (17 R1) I assume that may be the case for the AW18 as well What also tends to help is installing an RDP protocol so you can remote to the system, grants a little more flexibility when hashing out this process.

While it is very much a work in progress, I can state without a doubt we have saved that information. Now it comes down to trying to get into a format that can be more easily accessible. That portion will take time.
