Im thinking the only way to get higher is shunt modding the cards, 10c ambient only brings me about 22c starting temperature, the air cooler cant keep things below 40c. The moment I hit 60c I lose 2100Mhz and 1.1v 

 

Might look into doing that with my 5700xt's first though, I have more of them and arent as much of a loss in terms of investment lol

you could stick the system on the edge of your window so its out in the open cold air 😊

i use a trick i call "secret sauce", i would stick (in my case) laptop i am testing in the freezer for few minutes then i start the bench remotely, if you could get your open bench to 10c before you start the test bench run im sure you could bench much higher without shunt modding (be advise M.2 hate cold temps especially close to 0),

The quest for ever more performance is addictive in itself. I'm a performance enthusiast, but for games. So fortunately for brother @Mr. Fox, I'm not your typical gamerboy you have to complain about.🤣

 

My performance requirements are very high, 144 FPS in ALL games. As such, I usually end up needing high end hardware to get the job done. That's how I got into benching, but I bench only video games. I always find the conversations we all have very interesting reads.

 

I enjoy tweaking my hardware to push it to its max so I can get the best performance possible. And it doesn't end there as I can employ software tweaks on certain games to increase performance further. Perhaps I should make a guide for increasing performance in games as much as possible by employing both hardware and software tweaks as I'm doing software experimentation on my games as well.

Agreed. I ordered a cablemod 4-1 EVGA PSU adapter that arrived last week. Just need to get in there and install it but everything is tidy and cinched up atm...

It's practically on the window with 4 window fans dumping cold air on it (and me lol) 

 

It would be better probably next year to do the benching in the garage with the door cracked open. That way it doesn't really matter to me :P

Did some research with the GTX 970, looks like it has modding potential for up to 280w-300w and 1.3v so it looks like its going to get a second run. All I did is crank it to the max as is. :)

This guy has done a lot with his 970, you can watch it evolve through time lol. He does a bunch of other stuff to GPUs, but his most prestigious one is his 970. Maybe you can do the same 😉

I've done that for years. Long before JayzTwoCents had even heard of such a thing. Works great for desktops, too. I recorded this video and uploaded it to YouTube in 2012.

You can start with release driver for your 3060. Newest doesn't alweays mean better. And work you upwards with NVCleanstall. Take only 5 min to install new drivers included your tweaks. No need to run DDU in-beween each driver install. Benching is lots of works bro ryan. And don't ask why I know😎

i cant find a model with 3060 built-in, is your 3060 in external enclosure?

if so, its no wonder you keep getting the same results no matter the tweaks you apply,
with these specs you are cpu bound. (im perplexed now how you got that score with that cpu )

i think i found your specs, i7-12700H with 3060 (notebook) with that these are the top scores for the specs

not sure on what the exact specs are but its from janurary 2022 rtx 3060

my system has a 150w 3080Ti but i could only see max 120w used before i disabled the software driver in device manager, after that i got the full 150w during bench,

Also running artificially cold it looks like, and a fairly hefty OC for 3060 notebook.

Average temperature during the run at 46°C is going to boost higher than stock cooling.

first score on the list i posted earlier shows first position (same link @Mr. Fox posted above) is held by a dell model, no way its the full 3060 130w sku! (if it was Asus or MSI yes its possible, with Dell never)

Also look at the CPU clock, CPU temperature and CPU score on that run. Apples to oranges comparison. Everything is colder and clocked higher.

i was just looking at it, 62c average cpu temps means he started close or below 32f/0c,

 

in my east coast place it is freezing cold right now @ 32f,
if i leave my laptop on my porch for the bench i should see similar average temps, but that is not really representative of real world ambient temps by a longshot, this way its just for nonpractical bragging rights,

 

it would be much more informative if we could see starting, average, and final temps,
