Somewhat Off-Topic - Do you receive some notification from the manufacturer when these updates come out? I rely totally on this forum (previously NBR) & you for these updates and have used each new version with success on my PB70-series laptop. Just curious if you're that diligent to watch the updates page regularly and share when new versions come out (which I thank you for!) or if you're on some email blast/SSH feed? I'm on 3.74 now thank yet again to your updates here ✌️

@crossshot just tried the new CCC and was shock to see that temps on the system even on idle was 10c hotter. Reverted back to 3.69 no issues the temps dropped 10c. I know its a sample of 1 however might be a good idea to mention it to see what others are gettings.

Still on the PCS Bios though not on XMG's bios.

Super strange, as i had a 10c increase on load and idle with just a simple change of version of CCC. Even after setting fan curve of set to 14 like i had in 3.69.

Are you using the XMG UEFI Bios??

Hero! Appreciate your efforts.

I'm also not seeing a rise in temps from 3.69 to 3.74 beyond normal. It has gotten slightly hotter and much more humid here the last two days, so slight temp increase at idle to be expected for me.

Right i have made the jump to Windows 11, had enough of Microsoft pushing it on me.

Decided to check out how the new mainboard was handling itself with 3DMark Firestrike.

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 (notebook) video card benchmark result - Intel Core i5-11400 Processor,CLEVO X170KM-G (3dmark.com)

It might not be the best run i had its 10 points off my best but the temps are now much better after i redone the Paste job after the RMA and put on some new Thermal pads, which is a Mix of 1.0mm and 1.5mm. I did check the paste application last night and contact is also perfect now too.

So from a few points of issues with the RMA repair which i am working out with PCS right now via E-mail overall its doing well. I even noticed that the new board doesn't have the socket gap either that the original board had.

Give me a few seconds and will find out. Max Fans over and out!

Edit: Results NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 (notebook) video card benchmark result - Intel Core i5-11400 Processor,CLEVO X170KM-G (3dmark.com) , However i noticed that the Vram and core offsets have changed in terms of flipped so going to quickly correct that now!

Edit 2: New results NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 (notebook) video card benchmark result - Intel Core i5-11400 Processor,CLEVO X170KM-G (3dmark.com) which is slower ten the original one above not sure why will look into it.

My Windows 10 result is in the signature.

Hi guys

Anyone know where the X170KM is sold in the UK or Europe?

Yep PCSpecailist is one place in the UK, PCSPECIALIST - Configure the Recoil V 17 to your ideal requirements (Seems only an RTX 3060 is available right now)
As for Europe there is XMG XMG ULTRA 17 | gaming laptop | with 300 Hz IPS display.

Hope that helps, i got mine from PCS.

I saw @Sydneyblue sold his X170KM-G. How is your unit holding up @solidus1983 after the board replacement?

I was looking at PCS but the Recoil didn't seem to be on there, must've come back on.

Thank you for confirming.

System is holding up well since the board replacement, the only real issue is lack off bass from the engineer forgetting to reconnect the subwoofer. Else she is running if anything better then the old board. So thank you for asking.

@wilpang Although its back on PCS's website its only listing the RTX3060 right now so i guess they are out of stock of the RTX 3070 and RTX 3080 right now although you could call them and ask.

Found out that if you order via XMG they will not include VAT so that will be 20% on top of its price and that's pretty expensive!

Yep i was going to go to XMG at first but since the brexit happened i knew it was going to be expensive to import one in so lucked out when i noticed PCS selling them too.

This is the fan software right? I have already tried it before it didn't work well on my X170KM which is why i went for Obsidians fan control tool , which reminds me i need to retest that to see if the EC trigger issue is now present after updating my EC firmware.

I just asked the dealer and this is what they said "Currently only brand new machines with 3080 graphics cards are in stock. No more with 3060-3070 cards. This laptop model was completely discontinued in January. Originally, Clevo planned to resume production in the second quarter, but due to the epidemic, the factory has also closed and they will no longer be available."

When did you install it?
Is is an open source software which gets updated frequently with new hardware sensors.
