    Funny, I offered this guy $1,400 cash (he had it at $1,599 at first) since I found he was local. He said no. Then 1 week later after I bought mine from zTecPC he said if I still wanted it. He made way less due to fees and shipping. Oh well

    Hi there, I am working on a retro build. I was hoping someone has these old cards laying around that doesn't need them. I am looking for 2 GTX 590 Classified cards that I can do Quad-SLI with. also a cheap i7 980x Would also be interested in 3 GTX 580, 3 GTX 480 or 2 GTX 570 (blower cards). I also need 2-way & 3-way SLI bridge if anyone has them. Looking for 780Ti reference now I'll post some pics of the build once it's fully done.     Lenovo one is last hope. Interesting the chip sku is same as stock. (955-0 vs 955-1 on HP/Dell ones). The clocks are also a lot closer. This is the last chance.

    ^This We went from 250w TDP desktop flagship to now 450W and possibly 600w in future. Laptop we went from 100w TDP to 200W then 190W , now 175W (with bs turbo tdp accounted for) Basically laptop went down and desktop went way up.

    To be fair those desktop CPUs are pulling 250-300w+ at full power. I never owner a “hx” cpu but I would assume the highest end model would at least be unlocked

    Well, I guess that’s if you want an AMD system. I personally prefer intel/nvidia combo for laptops. That ASUS definitively aint better in looks though 👀

    Does anyone know how to edit pci device id in bios? Would be worth a shot to see if I can change pci id in bios so that it doesn't need inf mod and see if that works

    While this isn't as good of a deal as the $1299 black friday price, $1399 is still a decent price for this $1899 system. I personally wouldn't buy it at $1899 especially this late in the game but even at 1399 it's a good deal. There's an open box for $1049 as of this post which is really good.     Found some results here: As expected, the 1080p panel doesn't do the rtx 3080 justice as the performance gap between 3080 and 2080 is even less at 1080p vs 1440p. I may just keep 2070S in my SM-G unless I stumble across 3080 for cheap in the future.

    I bought my Alienware X14 on black friday knowing very well that Raptor Lake laptops should be out by Q1 2023. Main reasoning was...the laptop was $600 off. Even when Raptor Lake comes out it would probably be a decent amount more expensive so I said why not. I guess at this point in time though, we are very close to CES 2023 so it might be worth waiting a few more weeks to see what is coming out. Unless you are saving a significant amount or NEED the laptop ASAP for work or something, I would wait.

    they also made 2060/2070 ones too. they are desktop cores so no eDP support

    This is a common problem using GTX 980M in M17xR2. Inverted Colors. Only way to get past this is so switch to a 6-bit display panel. the 8-bit panel has some conflict with GM2xx series cards.

    I think the eGPU enclosures you are using just suck LOL I have used Alienware Graphics Amplifier with my Area-51m R1, and a 13 R3, they work with all of the following RTX cards fine: RTX 3090Ti EVGA FTW3 RTX 3090 KINGPIN RTX 3080 XC3 RTX 3070 MSI GAMING TRIO X RTX 2080Ti PNY Blower Style In addition, I have also tested: AMD RX 6800 All of them work fine. I also tested two RTX GPUs using Razer Core X in Alienware Area-51m R1 and they work fine. I would try disabling dGPU in device manager and see if that helps

    I think Clevo's MXM format should be fine holding a 4090 style gpu but with lower tdp like 250w. Problem is nVidia doesn't want MXM to continue. No one is supporting MXM anymore. Clevo's biggest selling point for DTR is coming to an end. As someone who had 2x GTX 1080 (190W TDP each) in P870DM3 overclocked, I do not think thermals should be an issue if the laptop is thick and large (like 18") chassis. I think nVidia just doesn't want MXM form factor to live. They didn't even allow 3080Ti Mobile to come to MXM MXM is dead in the sense there is no new Clevo MXM next year. Embedded MXM will continue most likely The Chinese Frankenstein MXM cards are also still available but we'll see for 4000 series
