  1. All this talk about 6GB VRAM and here I am buying SLI GTX 590s in 2022 with 1.5GB VRAM 😄 8GB has been a thing since 880M. I am still rocking three of them in old systems. 8GB flagship in 2014 has same VRAM as a 2023 4060 9 years later LOL
  2. If your software supports it then sure. But normally it's always better to go to single fastest gpu solution.
  3. I recommend looking into a 330w ac adapter, however your current 240w ac adapter should work fine with that 1060m. Honestly it's better to get this for cheaper: https://www.ebay.com/itm/403629040424?hash=item5dfa2a6328:g:juwAAOSwOWBe0C2X&amdata=enc%3AAQAHAAAAoP43e0VJvzAeuqYCEhiLkVRc5qIal97sDu%2Fakev5X4c2g5wuOlVKrOz2jzoD9D8AzUIj2Yt84zJB7uLMwOjH%2FPZOJsNWRmxD%2BNqdYc0oI8RXD%2ByaHpY60c%2BCSwY94T%2BoqP0znAUTS3xjUERfYmiIDOoB%2Fd2nKKtwUI15VGNQitY2W9tK4xOjuy9IWgxdyyL%2F2KXP9kVM2g7EndnhlUOsBZo%3D|tkp%3ABk9SR_KppuOsYQ Both P4000 and that 1060 will not require any new heatsinks. It will plug in. For BIOS: Latest unlocked BIOS for M18xR2 is here. Flash before buying new card. Go to BIOS, look for video settings and change mode from PEG to SG. Save and then you can install new gpu
  4. No need for adapters https://amzn.to/3Cdco8P or eBay: https://ebay.us/rS1epp I have these in all of my alienwares. Even M14xR1/M17xR3 work fine.

    WTB: 780Ti

Found 2 GTX 590s, i7 980X, and a 780Ti. Going to be fun. Would need another 780Ti or two or three (blower)
  6. ~4% away in Single Core ~15% away in Multi Core vs stock 13900K Geekbench Result. Not bad, will be interesting to see final product. Intel Core i9-13900K Benchmarks - Geekbench Browser BTW: 4090 > 3090: However, a little birdy as told me the highest end 4090 can beat 3090Ti
  7. I do not. You can try contacting Eurocom since they sell 770M upgrade for M18xR1. I would try the unlocked A05 BIOS first. Then try a few vBIOS. Honestly 780M, 880M are best GPUs for M18xR1. 770M should work unless that specific one has issue. One thing to try is "SG" mode just to see if it boots up and shows up.
  8. I'm not sure but the A05 unlocked that I sent you has all the modules in BIOS updated so it might help.
  9. Not to mention Dell's warranty is still better than any other OEM I have dealt with. It;s still 1399 but at this point it might be worth waiting until Jan 3rd when Raptor Lake Mobile/RTX 4000 Mobile will be announced.
  10. Theres 12.9 and 13.5 rst version. Shouldn’t matter which one but I personally use 12.9 version. flash a05 stock first then a05 unlocked 12.9 rst
  11. Which BIOS are you running on your M18xR1? Try this unlocked BIOS: https://drive.google.com/file/d/14J_h6dHSPFF2vnyAKcXOjg4a_ri1p8XB/view?usp=sharing
  12. If you are referring to the "standard mxm 3.0b" RTX 3000 I put in my M18xR2, then it will fit in M17xR4 fine. The problem is, they are almost impossible to find. The ones you can find are the HP RTX 3000 which are wider and longer than a standard mxm 3.0b card. These will not fit without significant chassis mods. Your best bet is a P4000 ($280 on eBay) or P5000 (~$450 on eBay) as an upgrade.
  13. You can still get Prema BIOS from Eluktronics so it’s a zTec thing I think
  14. I also had P570WM except with a 10-Core Xeon, 16GB 2133Mhz Quad-Channel (ran at 1866 due to Xeon CPU), 970M OC and RAID0 SSDs. https://www.3dmark.com/fs/3684105 the p570wm was the closest we ever got to a true desktop replacement. Unfortunately after that it started to go downhill. Sure we got P870DM, which was also good but we never got X99/X299 HEDT laptops. the 10/20 series in mobile brought the closest desktop class gpus then 30 series went backwards again. the x170 will probably be the last lga/mxm system.
  15. No Prema BIOS for me from zTecPC. Idk if they stopped supplying it or they just can't give it to me because my machine was refurbished but there's no way to get it from them. I messaged Prema but he said he is busy atm If I knew I wasn't going to have Prema BIOS, I would have gone with the KM
  16. Of course I discover these after I get rid of my P4000. Perhaps it's time to play with one again 😄 Is your 17 a eDP 120Hz panel or 60hz panel?
  17. Try this: https://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/149614/149614 If it doesn't work try these: https://drive.google.com/file/d/18Wuuadxrk8brSFXDBrFCR-vjNcXgfwcF/view?usp=sharing https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Du3DWQpJWDu6W9rakDKU7yEIf6aPsU_7/view?usp=sharing 770m SLI should work. I am running 880M SLI in my M18xR1.
  18. Funny, I offered this guy $1,400 cash (he had it at $1,599 at first) since I found he was local. He said no. Then 1 week later after I bought mine from zTecPC he said if I still wanted it. He made way less due to fees and shipping. Oh well

    WTB: 780Ti

Hi there, I am working on a retro build. I was hoping someone has these old cards laying around that doesn't need them. I am looking for 2 GTX 590 Classified cards that I can do Quad-SLI with. also a cheap i7 980x Would also be interested in 3 GTX 580, 3 GTX 480 or 2 GTX 570 (blower cards). I also need 2-way & 3-way SLI bridge if anyone has them. Looking for 780Ti reference now I'll post some pics of the build once it's fully done. GTX 780Ti: https://www.amazon.com/EVGA-GeForce-Dual-Link-Graphics-03G-P4-2881-KR/dp/B00GDIIIPW Heat: https://www.heatware.com/u/73221/to
  20. Didn't work , oh well. yes that is MXM just in a weird format. I will send card back .
  21. Lenovo one is last hope. Interesting the chip sku is same as stock. (955-0 vs 955-1 on HP/Dell ones). The clocks are also a lot closer. This is the last chance.
  22. ^This We went from 250w TDP desktop flagship to now 450W and possibly 600w in future. Laptop we went from 100w TDP to 200W then 190W , now 175W (with bs turbo tdp accounted for) Basically laptop went down and desktop went way up.
  23. To be fair those desktop CPUs are pulling 250-300w+ at full power. I never owner a “hx” cpu but I would assume the highest end model would at least be unlocked
  24. Just gonna drop this here: https://wccftech.com/intel-core-i9-13900hx-raptor-lake-hx-laptop-cpu-faster-than-amd-ryzen-9-7900x-core-i9-12900k/
