Mr. Fox
@ryanis in Canada, so he should have ample cold air right now. Portable AC unit is the only good way to keep a laptop cold enough for benching. I learned that from Brother @johnksssa long time ago. You place the intake vents on the bottom of it (or remove the bottom cover) directly over the AC unit with high velocity freezing cold air being force-fed into the chassis and out the radiators. You can use it year 'round and keep your office cool in the summertime. Only recently did popular guys like JayzTwoCents start using it for desktops, but it works good for a desktop as well. Just make a duct to force the cold air through the radiators or CPU/GPU air coolers and you'll see results you never dreamed possible using ambient air or ambient water cooling. 3 1 2 Wraith // Z790 Apex | 14900KS | 4090 Suprim X+Byksi Block | 48GB DDR5-8600 | Toughpower GF3 1650W | MO-RA3 360 | Hailea HC-500A || O11D XL EVO Banshee // X870E Carbon | 9950X | 4090 Gaming OC+Alphacool Block | 32GB DDR5-8200 | RM1200x SHIFT | XT45 1080 Nova || Antec C8 Spectre // Z790i Edge | 13900KS | 3090 Ti FTW3 | 32GB DDR5-8200 | RM1000e | EK Nucleus CR360 Direct Die || Prime A21 Half-Breed // Dell Precision 7720 | BGA CPU Filth+MXM Quadro P5000 | 4K Display | Sub-$500 Grade A Refurb | Nothing to Write Home About Mr. Fox YouTube Channel | Mr. Fox @ HWBOT The average response time for a 911 call is 10 minutes. It seems to work pretty well. Granted, I don't let the temperatures on the CPU go subzero, I just introduce a large temeprature differential to increase heat transfer and keep the CPU much cooler than it normally would be under conventional cooling methods. I've always found it strange that normal thermal paste does better than liquid metal at subzero temperatures, but I suppose that makes sense given that metal expands and contracts more than paste does. Extreme cooling is awesome. The air coming out of the vents on a good AC unit can actually cause frost and ice formation on the inside of the laptop. It doesn't have time to mix with the warm air in a room with the bottom of the laptop sitting directly on top of the vents and it can be below freezing point. When I was still benching laptops with mobile Extreme CPUs and desktop CPUs in them it would transform a 100°C throttled piece of doggy poop into something special and keep it well below normal idle temperatures with the CPU under full load. As a bonus, it keeps everything else freezing cold, too. PCH, SSDs, CPU, GPU, VRMs... the whole shebang stays frosty. Using a freezer can also work, but you have to keep lots of air moving through the radiators to stay ahead of the curve. The portable AC unit can move far more air (CFM) than chintzy laptop fans. 1 4 Wraith // Z790 Apex | 14900KS | 4090 Suprim X+Byksi Block | 48GB DDR5-8600 | Toughpower GF3 1650W | MO-RA3 360 | Hailea HC-500A || O11D XL EVO Banshee // X870E Carbon | 9950X | 4090 Gaming OC+Alphacool Block | 32GB DDR5-8200 | RM1200x SHIFT | XT45 1080 Nova || Antec C8 Spectre // Z790i Edge | 13900KS | 3090 Ti FTW3 | 32GB DDR5-8200 | RM1000e | EK Nucleus CR360 Direct Die || Prime A21 Half-Breed // Dell Precision 7720 | BGA CPU Filth+MXM Quadro P5000 | 4K Display | Sub-$500 Grade A Refurb | Nothing to Write Home About Mr. Fox YouTube Channel | Mr. Fox @ HWBOT The average response time for a 911 call is 10 minutes. I bet that you are throttled because of heat. It is very difficult to make any gains benchmarking with hardware that is only meant to perform at a certain level before being bottlenecked/throttled. 3 Lian Li Lancool III | Ryzen 9 9950X | 48gb G-skill Trident Z5 DDR5 8000mhz | MSI Mpg X670E Carbon | AsRock Taichi Radeon 7900xtx Bykski Block |Raijintek Scylla Pro 360 custom loop| Crucial T700 1tb WD Black's SN770 500gb/1tb NVME | Toshiba 8Tb 7200rpm Data | EVGA 1000w SuperNova |32" Agon 1440p 165hz Curved Screen | Windows 10 LoT 21h2

I never did. Just set it directly over the AC vents (assuming you have a unit with vents blowing air vertically instead of horizontally) and use it as you normally would. This will blast freezing cold air into the laptop at probably 10 times the velocity and 200 times the volume than the laptop fans can do maxed out. A 10,000 BTU can keep a 10x10 ft room colder than most people find comfortable. So, imagine how well it can cool less than one cubic liter of laptop. 1 2 Wraith // Z790 Apex | 14900KS | 4090 Suprim X+Byksi Block | 48GB DDR5-8600 | Toughpower GF3 1650W | MO-RA3 360 | Hailea HC-500A || O11D XL EVO Banshee // X870E Carbon | 9950X | 4090 Gaming OC+Alphacool Block | 32GB DDR5-8200 | RM1200x SHIFT | XT45 1080 Nova || Antec C8 Spectre // Z790i Edge | 13900KS | 3090 Ti FTW3 | 32GB DDR5-8200 | RM1000e | EK Nucleus CR360 Direct Die || Prime A21 Half-Breed // Dell Precision 7720 | BGA CPU Filth+MXM Quadro P5000 | 4K Display | Sub-$500 Grade A Refurb | Nothing to Write Home About Mr. Fox YouTube Channel | Mr. Fox @ HWBOT The average response time for a 911 call is 10 minutes. I don't think I could function without them. Some of those tweaks, and some you already have applied, you can use software like what you're already doing, only using a GUI, but many are registry tweaks. 2 Wraith // Z790 Apex | 14900KS | 4090 Suprim X+Byksi Block | 48GB DDR5-8600 | Toughpower GF3 1650W | MO-RA3 360 | Hailea HC-500A || O11D XL EVO Banshee // X870E Carbon | 9950X | 4090 Gaming OC+Alphacool Block | 32GB DDR5-8200 | RM1200x SHIFT | XT45 1080 Nova || Antec C8 Spectre // Z790i Edge | 13900KS | 3090 Ti FTW3 | 32GB DDR5-8200 | RM1000e | EK Nucleus CR360 Direct Die || Prime A21 Half-Breed // Dell Precision 7720 | BGA CPU Filth+MXM Quadro P5000 | 4K Display | Sub-$500 Grade A Refurb | Nothing to Write Home About Mr. Fox YouTube Channel | Mr. Fox @ HWBOT The average response time for a 911 call is 10 minutes. Clamibot
Well holy crap this thread has been incredibly active today! I'm liking this a lot as it's feeling like a real conversation! To add some more to today's conversation, I went and bidded on a Samsung B-Die DDR4 RAM kit and actually won! This is the very first time I've ever won a bid, so I'm feeling proud of myself. Freaking bid snipers made me lose all other bids I've ever been a part of. It's super annoying when someone swoops in and takes the bid from you at the last second. I decided to not deal with that crap this time around and instead set up automated bidding for this listing. I'm excited for this kit to come in and continue my RAM overclocking escapades. It was very daunting to start out with, but now I'm hooked. TUNE EVERYTHING AND OVERCLOCK EVERYTHING FOR MAXIMUM PERFORMANCE MWAHAHAHAHA! mewahahaha get her done boi....ill apply the tweaks if you get a bid @MyPC8MyBrain i have no idea how long that would take but i dont trust reg tweaks..unless they look good lol....sad face 1 ZEUS-COMING SOON Omen 16 2021 Zenbook 14 oled Vivobook 15x oled

The average score on Notebookcheck is the 130w version now 140w because OEMs released a VBIOS update to increase the wattage to 140w. Also i just noticed that Crysis Remastered has DLSS now and you have it turned off. You can achieve your goal if you turn DLSS on. 2 hours ago, Rage Set said: We have lots of below zero weather for all of you...except @Papusan here in Connecticut. Right now 15F (-9.4C), but with the wind chill 3 degrees. It is going negative tonight and most of tomorrow. Perhaps it is a garage overclocking type of night. Yeah we're getting it too, Been out in it all day at work wearing 4 layers lol.
