Some memory stability testing...

Anyone using this program yet?

Looks like I have had it since 2018. Probably the last time I used it as well. I totally forgot about it until seeing your screenshot. 🙂 That kind of sucks because it looks like I paid money for it at the time... then spaced it off.

I use that one, and the long hard version of TM5 as it would seem we were using very basic settings for it.

I played around with the longer and more challenging versions of TM5, but I haven't really found a need/benefit for it. Some people are really anal about their memory running under max stress for days with no errors. I haven't identified a need to be stressed out about it.

I don't recognize the GUI for MemTest Pro. I have MemTest Pro, but it doesn't look like that. That kind of looks like OCCT. The MemTest Pro I have is very plain-looking test on gray, like CPU-Z or the other RAM Test GUI. Is that a different brand that uses the same name, or is "RunMemTestPro" the actual name of it?

Quite a few over on OCN like that. I only let it run for about an hour for authentication purposes. I will not be running something like that for hours on end as like you. Not really my scene.

Not sure why his default troubleshooting means is getting a second GPU, iGPU = problem solved. Furthermore, igors lab has all the tools needed for bricking and unbricking.

I keep a spare Opitplex 990 just for such purposes.

What is not addressed in the video is whether or not the vbios is write protected. You can still flash to it, and it will successfully "Complete" but the card will not post. My Gigabyte 5700 XT's are write protected. Which was a bummer but they did well and I just tune for efficiency instead.

I'm looking for some cooling options. Anyone that have an experience with the Custom water kit below? If this is an viable option (I mean this can be found here home) then I will add in an second 480mm rad in front. I will re-use all my 3000 rpm fans for push/pull. Aka 1x420 in top and 1x480mm in front for the Cpu. The second row in front of the chassis (480mm) will be for an GPU rad when that time comes. Pick parts here and there ain't an option here home. Thanks.

I prefer have a free place aviable for an 360/480mm rad in front as intake for the Gpu. Hence I go for this setup. The Cpu and Gpu will have own water loop and won't be connected together.

Oh ye of little faith. With great coldness of GPU cores great things are possible. The secret to the gold is hidden in the cold. Since turdbooks are air cooled what you need to feed your laptop is freezing cold air.

He did show the "unlock" command. If the IC itself is write protected at a hardware level then the answer might be grabbing the soldering iron and installing a new blank chip on it and programming it using the software for flashing AMD cards.

I certainly would not have a surprised look on my face about them going Nazi on something that is supposedly for enthusiasts given the fact that they are generally anti-overclocking in their approach to things. It certainly wouldn't be the first time that enthusiasts got sold a bill of goods, and definitely it won't be the last.

I think they are only available via San Ace and Delta, purely for servers if I had to guess.

They do come in 120mm, but requires a little over 8 amps at full power, meant for servers which tends to utilize forced air solutions. There are a few videos on youtube though and it appears to be PWM controllable. If I can source a couple first I will obviously go that route instead.

EDIT: From my understanding, the relative CFM for RPM's is not much different. Just that the static pressure is increased for the troubles. Since I am using an open bench now I am not limited by form factor. I would remove the center fan of my D15 and just leave it as a shroud.

Not sure about the title but the description is correct. Headphone users lower your volume the pitch is jarringly high

AMD likely picked up on the high interest of the 5700xt and RX 570/580 and all the GPU flashing, no its hard to say they didnt. They patched the MPT and registry tweaks to push more power to their GPU's pretty quickly. Then vBIOS flashing was the way around that.

Given how much attention Mining had the last couple of years they likely wanted to avoid high RMA rates and the stresses that come with that by locking everything down from the get go. Under normal circumstances I would be pissed, given how ignorant most miners are (myself included) vastly prematurely killing their GPU's due to lack of doing homework, I cant do anything but sit on the fence.

What little is in English, the only progress they made for OCing was MPT but only worked some of the time. This is likely due to when that alternate version of the 6900 XT(H) came around and last I saw most efforts to push the cards were in vain, and had given up. No idea about any attempts for shunt modding though.

Nvidia was right on target. Loads of drivers from AMD won't be approved by Futurmark for their leaderboard. It's a huge lottery. AMD is filled of Beta drivers. And many of their drivers suck up Cpu clock cycles (second lottery). I won't buy anything from the Red camp. Nope.... Not me.  Damn, every second graphics drivers from AMD is in Beta and can't or won't be approved on 3DM leaderboard. Does AMD have a huge software problem? I needed install 3 different drivers to get an valid score.

And her you see AMD release a new Joke. Barely an increase in max TDP for their new top dog cards. Afraid that the silicon can’t handle it?

https://videocardz.com/newz/amd-radeon-rx-6950xt-to-feature-335w-tbp-18gbps-memory-rx-6750xt-6650xt-get-20w-boost

The rumors about RX 6950XT shipping with 350W power were untrue, instead the card will have 335W TBP, which is 35W over the RX 6900XT model and 5W higher than 6900XT Liquid Edition. This means that board partners should have no problem adopting their high-end triple-fan as well as liquid-cooled series for the new model.

And expect similar for their next gen graphics. It seems AMD prefer lowest possible power both for their graphics and processors.

Well maybe it will lower the value of the current 6900xt, which would be good for me lol

Hey have you guys ever seen a GPU mount that is parallel to the motherboard for open benches?

I'd like to elevate my GPU with a riser so that I can spread out my components while retaining enhanced cooling that my 92mm fans provide :)

Don't forget the 3090ti at 2k+.... 🤑

Depending on 6950xt launch prices (which use the same XTXH chips), these could go down even further. A guy over on ocn picked up an Asrock Formula OC 6900xt open box from microcenter for $700. I have three MCs in a ~60min radius (PA, MD, MD) and one 90min away (North NJ). Might take a day trip to a few and check their open box stock on....well....everything.

LOL. Too funny. Maybe what they meant, and failed to properly articulate, is that their drivers don't suck as bad and remain in a perpetual semi-stable beta state like AMD graphics drivers. With a few random exceptions, their drivers have been a mess for as long as I can remember, and their firmware is equally perma-botched.

The reason Arc is taking so long is because of drivers, they aren't good enough yet. The physical GPUs are perfect, and intel has a lot of them, but the drivers are what's holding the cards back.

Far and away my favorite products, of unmatched quality, but no longer within an acceptable price point for me to view it as a viable option. The value is just too difficult for me to identify. Being a very late arrival to virtually every launch is also an issue, even if money were no object.

The reason Arc is taking so long is because of drivers, they aren't good enough yet. The physical GPUs are perfect, and intel has a lot of them, but the drivers are what's holding the cards back.

Or they struggle hard to find the correct MSRP😁 GPU prices is in change so thats, that. They are already too late for the party. Expect nvidia to speed up release of 4000 graphics. Not fun being the company that offer +2000$ cards that still won't come above second or last in benchmarks. nvidia offer a lot of new modern features but fail in benchmarks. And they fail in the MSRP race as well.

Whats the point with Intel's new graphics if the prices is wrong for what you'll get/or put  perverse? (a few months forwards and this cards can't compete at all).

According to a new report, those of you looking towards Arc for some GPU market disruption may be in for a disappointment as Intel is allegedly not pricing its GPUs any cheaper than Nvidia or AMD.

oh cmon Intel, read the room... 🙄 we dont want another one-off, still-born GPU launch, we want competition!!!
