  1. as usual, EU has to come in and force-feed big tech some common sense. you're welcome, world 😛
  2. yeah i have seriously been wondering if this phase right now until right before 40 series launches might actually be THE best time to get a new GPU in years. once new gen is announced, a lot of people will then sell off their current gpus to get ready for the new gen. once new gen is out, prices will skyrocket due to scalpers and basically zero availability, so that the current gen and used market will also climb again price-wise. sooo....now or never? i sure hope not... tired of those games to be honest. thats why i was SO HAPPY when i read the news today of the crypto market crashing HARD 😛 https://www.independent.co.uk/tech/bitcoin-price-crash-2022-latest-crypto-b2074581.html
  3. when it shuts down, what is the behaviour like? is it an instant shut off? or does windows suddenly decide to initiate the shutdown procedure? have u checked component temperatures (i.e. via HWInfo) when shutdowns happen? when was the last time u serviced your laptop (cleaning out dust, repaste, etc.)? do the shutdowns only happen on battery or on AC power? or both? all this will help us dial down the range of potential culprits.
  4. it's "funny and interesting" that modded / debloated windows installs have become more and more obligatory with each new version of windows we get... i wonder if this might not be a new line of revenue for microsoft to come up, pay good money for a naked/debloated version of windows 😋
  5. maybe u can imbue a mod with the option to adjust tags. also, how about a dropdown list of already utilized tags to ensure a universal formatting standard of future tags? that way ull also save cleanup time.
  6. amazing job so far, i like the general direction NBT is headed for, especially since I get the feeling that the overall atmosphere is really beginning to remind me of NBR (which is a good thing!). keep it up boys 😁
  7. the problem, as with any kind of overclocking endeavour, is that such reference values are only rough guidelines. ull always have to deal with the silicon lottery, especially with RAM OC. since with RAM tuning, not only the RAM itself plays a role, but also the IMC in the CPU, as well as the quality of the motherboard traces, that provide the signal pathways between the IMC and the memory modules. so in the end, ull not get around to do a lot of testing, ideally changing one timing at a time and check for stability... btw, why stop at 3200 Mhz? are u sure there is a bios lock for that speed? since u actually have the RAM OC options available, i dont see a reason why u couldnt just "aim for the moon", so to say 😉 take it as far as possible!
  8. i feel ya dude. the reason why i have 9TB of SSDs in my laptop is exactly that: movie and TV show collections! plus yeah, the games folder is slowly growing in size, as well, lately....haha 😛 however, im not the kinda guy who needs to have everything in 4K with dolby surround, etc.
  9. yeah, unfortunately thats pretty much the input and feedback ive gotten from several sources now, ugh. too bad my lady insists on having a "normal" OS with full update functionatliy for her new machine (coming in next week). but still, im planning to go with a somewhat debloated version so that her new hardware is not blocked from the get-go performance-wise.
  10. what i would suggest is to apply a custom profile and tweak every sub timing individually to get ur RAM kit as tight as possible. rule of thumb: the lower the timing, the better for performance, with the exception of tREFI which is the other way around (the higher the number the better). DllBwEn you can basically ignore for now, they only become interesting once everything else is absolutely maxed out and u want to take it to the extreme. i would check and see what the tightest timings are that u can reach at 3000 Mhz (starting with the XMP timings and mem voltage and then working ur way down from there), then switch it around and up the Mhz while loosening the timings.
  11. yep, unfortunately thats the way everything is heading towards: everything as a service with recurring monthly payments and no actual real ownership of the product... not sure im a fan of that 🙄
  12. i think so, but dont take my word for it, since ive never personally tried it myself 🙂 but in general u retain backwards compaibility but gain forward compatibility, yeah.
  13. no worries man, thats what NBT is for 🙂 if i remember correctly, you need a specific amount of posts on TI first before u can start downloading stuff.
  14. haha you can try and check with him via his website: https://premamod.wordpress.com/ there is also the Dsanke bios mod, which used to be freely available on NBR but not sure where you could get it from nowadays. you can try searching through the NBRchive here: https://www.nbrchive.net/ or maybe try over at TechInferno forums? edit: heres an older thread from Dsanke i found on NBR - https://www.nbrchive.net/xfa/sager-and-clevo.1017/Coffee Lake BIOS updates P751DM2-G/
  15. hmmm, thats a tricky subject. in "ye olden days" Prema Mod used to be freely accessible and donation based until someone decided to copy and use it commercially for their own gain. nowadays you either get it from a Prema Partner vendor against a fee or from the great Wizard himself 🙂
  16. agreed, they're probably like: ohno! one less night at the strip clubs this year!
  17. not really from what ive heard....apparently theyre not even licensed by clevo to carry their name 😅
  18. thats when the mobile "cold bug" starts working its magic it seems 😄
  19. 😊 double post and cant remove that first smiley on mobile it seems.... 😅
  20. thx man, be sure to have a look! already have a license for start10, so ill check and see if there are any significant stuff shed be missing out on 😊
  21. hey guys, got some new interesting infos from having a nice little chat with our beloved Clevo wizard Prema: - @win32asmguygo ahead and try to disable VBS / HVCI, maybe that could impvoe voltage adjustment with E Cores enabled: https://www.tomshardware.com/how-to/disable-vbs-windows-11 - P and E Cores share the same core voltage, but cache voltages are separate - the eDP throttle reason were seeing in TS is due to the board limiting max amperage being drawn. according to Prema, even if we disable the eDP throttling, the board would then instantly shutdown once that amperage limit is exeeded. so with this in mind, well have to squeeze out as much as we an from the available 125W PL1 envelope we have available while minimizing the core voltage (binned cpus FTW) and of course keep the system VRMs as cool as possible to minimize efficiency losses due do excessive heat. - the max amperage limit set on the NH systems seems to be around 90A --> based on 125W PL1, that equates to a max core voltage of 1.388V before we hit the 90A limit and start throttling... btw, my gf's system has been built and is now on its way, should get it sometime next week 🙂
  22. very interesting, i basically just discovered both him and Sophie thanks to @Mr. Fox and this thread, i'll be sure to give them both a whirl when I install Win11 for my lady's new machine.
  23. ok, hm, lets seeeeee what im currently watching by myself: Archer Black Mirror (if its ever going to be continued...) Cosmos (see Black MIrror) Gravity Falls Harley Quinn Loki One Strange Rock Rick and Morty See Sherlock Space Force Star Trek - Discovery Star Trek - Picard (yep, im a Trekkie, deal with it!) Superman & Lois The Blacklist The Book of Boba Fett The Boys The Flash The Mandalorian The Walking Dead What If Watching with my lady: Cobra Kai Scandal The 100 Spartacus yep, im a total TV Show fanatic *lol*
  24. are you saying you DONT prioritize RGB above performance / form over function?!?!?! HAU DEER YUH! @johnksss quote: "Reminds me of people back in 2008 saying the same things then as now.... And since we have already done it with our low level watts locked vBioses I'm going to have to say....You are probably wrong....(in a nice way.🙂) So to answer your question, yes it's possible, but not in the sense you keep trying to convey it in. Short answer. Prema. Long answer. The unknown is always considered impossible. Explanation: You are fixated on 115W. In this case it's just a number that can in fact be changed. What cant really be changed is the fact it's a 3060. (User khenglish does not count here-LOL) Once you realize this, things will start to become clearer and make more sense...." sorry for the janky quote, lol. whatever happened to khenglish? is he still around?
