    @ryan If you setup your ThrottleStop like this you can set any value into the Long/Short PL2 and PL1 values then hit apply. It will bypass the crap HP "adaptive" power limit crap they use and let you get significantly higher CPU performance. You need to use the Honeywell PTM 7950 stuff to keep it nice and cool though. But these settings will stop it from power throttling down.

Looks about an 18% uplift for the 3070 and the extra 2gb of vRAM is very useful for certain games, especially needed for 1440p. When I picked this up on a sale at $1499, it was a pretty good deal. The 3060 version with FHD and no G-Sync, no per key RGB, was $1300. So the performance increase and the extras made it a really slick deal. I'm not the biggest fan of laptops anymore though. They're neutered BGA crap. If it wasn't for my job and travel I would not own one. I am actually thinking about picking up a thin/light 14" that is sub 4lbs soon that can do some light gaming on the side if needed because I rarely game on overnights anymore. Usually more interested in getting in a good workout, eating and sleeping and the laptop use is usually to browse forums and watch YouTube.

    I have the Omen 16.1" with 3070 115w.. I don't bench it often but will see if I can find a score. I don't watch this guy often but this direct die cooling setup might be interesting for some of you.. The results is actually super impressive. @johnksss @Mr. Fox @electrosoft

    So far absolutely zero whine. I am truly shocked. My KPE also had a bit of whine, but wasn't too bad. So far my opinion is that if you have a 3090 KPE there is 100% reason to upgrade unless you are chasing records and then you need the KPE 3090 Ti. This FTW3 is good, but there is no substitution for the KingPin. https://www.3dmark.com/3dm/73704630 +100/1500Mhz. Bests my 15400 KPE personal best, and that took a lot of tweaking messing around with the classy tool and what not. So I am happy that I can easily just drop in the clocks and beat it. I'll mess around tonight and see if I can break 16,000 but I'm thinking you need water for that. But my 12900K is also stock so I'll see if upping that helps any. All in all I am happy with the card. It's a beast and have the card I wanted from the beginning lol.

    https://www.3dmark.com/3dm/73703445 Bone stock CPU and GPU run. Power limits and all sliders at default. Sold my KPE for $1800 cash yesterday. I've wanted to get away from the AIO solution since I got it, I want EVGA to release KPE cards with beefy air coolers made of copper again or just blocked, but I think those days are gone. I got 1 year and 4 months out of my KPE and only lost a few hundred bucks. I used some of my EVGA bucks to 'upgrade' to this. As expected slightly faster than a 3090 KPE at stock, but no mess in the case. Easy pop in and pop out air cooled card. The card ran 2055Mhz during the test around 64c. Again all stock sliders and stock fans. Hard to judge since the power limits are so insanely high and it ran around 430-450w during the test.

    I've read/seen videos that have tested this out. You can either enable v-sync in game or in the NV Control Panel. What they recommended was using in Nv Control Panel to ensure the in game v-sync doesn't introduce any kind of additional input lag. As you know, both should have the same effect. You're not actually using V-Sync but by turning on V-Sync it forces the frames to cap around -3 below your max refresh rate to ensure you never leave G-Sync range and keep it buttery smooth. Nvidia does a terrible job of explaining how G-Sync works, it's benefits, and it doesn't help they've changed how it works based on control panel settings over the years. I personally hate gaming on anything that doesn't feature adaptive sync or G-Sync. Having used it since 2015 with my first 1440p Dell G-Sync monitor, I simply can't go without it anymore. I immediately notice tearing and the lack of 'synced up' feel that it provides. I turn it off for benching, but that's about it.

    If G-Sync is showing up as an option in the Nvidia Control Panel then you have Adaptive Sync tech available and working as intended. The reason you are seeing not certified as G-Sync compatible is because it's NOT certified by Nvidia as G-Sync Compatible https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/products/g-sync-monitors/specs/ . As you can see your monitor is not on the official list. That does not mean G-Sync won't work, it just means Nvidia has not certified it. It's possible they haven't gotten to it yet, or more than likely Ben-Q doesn't want to pony up the cash for the branding and testing or Nvidia found small issues with variable refresh rate (flickering is usual issues) and won't certify the panel ever. Go into the Nv Control Panel and turn on G-Sync for both Full Screen and Windowed Modes. Then tick the box that says use G-Sync anyways even though it's not certified or whatever it says. Then download and run this program and ensure G-Sync mode stays ticked. You can also turn it off and on and look at the tearing appear and disappear to ensure it's working.     That is great! Thanks for confirming! I wonder if it's simply a licensing/fee issue with Nvidia. With AMD and Intel offering FreeSync or VRR in laptops, Nvidia is going to need to start offering G-Sync to more laptops similar to how they did on desktop.

    It’s actually 500nit advertised. It’s crazy bright and color accurate. One of their new “Nebula” displays. I’m actually jealous of it, super compact, well built beastly machine.

    That is actually good to hear! So you have this laptop? It has the variable refresh option in the Intel iGPU menu? That is definitely good that it has that at least has Optimus VRR, but less than ideal dGPU G-Sync/FreeSync option. My brother just picked up the Asus G14 2022 edition and it has MUX'd FreeSync in dGPU mode which is the ideal way just like GSync.

My HP Omen 16.1" is also Advanced Optimus, MUX'd, and has G-Sync at 1440p 165hz. MSI is just sorta lagging and cheating customers out of options other brands have been offering for awhile now. I'm not saying they need to hit every box, but they should be offering at least some of these new features that other brands are.

    To my knowledge all of MSI "gaming" laptops are 16:9, they don't have VRR or G-Sync/FreeSync, and their entire gaming laptop is still 300 nit advertised. I expect MSI to add these features back in the 2023 lineup with 4000 series Nvidia or next gen AMD, but for now I don't see any of those options offered in the gaming space. The 1080p knock was specific to this model as I do know they offer higher res displays, but their offerings are substandard to other panels in other brands.

    I like MSI laptops for the unlocked/hidden BIOS, but man they aren't keeping up with the competition. Still using 300 nit displays, 1080p, and no variable refresh or G-Sync in 2022, and no 16:10 or 16" options is inexcusable for me. Until they change that, it's a hard pass for me considering their high prices.

    I don't know what it is, but lately I've been on this lower end spec part kick. Like I've just gotten so sick of top end part being near maxed out of box. I am having so much more fun tinkering with the G7400 and i3 12100F and honestly the i3 could keep me happy for daily use. It's crazy how fast the 4 core part is with the high IPC and clockspeed.

    Also a long time Chrome user but I’m willing to check this out as it definitely looks interesting. I run a few plugins/extensions on Chrome so hopefully those are supported here? Either way it looks fresh.

    Pushing 105w through the little beast, barely breaking a sweat lol. This paste/pad is crazy. Max fans, no cooling pad or anything weird, just sitting on my laptop.

    Checking in with my Omen 16.1" 2021 edition with 11800H and RTX 3070 115w 1440p 165Hz G-Sync/Advanced Optimus 🙂 Repasted it recently with Honeywell PTM 7950 phase change thermal pad/sheet. https://ibb.co/KmPpN6j I'm also using 32gb Dual Ranked Kit of 2933Mhz CL17 Gear 1 instead of the stock 3200Mhz CL22 Gear 2. My biggest gripe is the completely locked down BIOS. If I had access to the Advanced BIOS to tune the memory and run Gear 1 at 3200Mhz CL16 the laptop would be perfect but I haven't found a way in yet.

    @ryan My HP Omen 16.1" 11800H/3070 repasted with Honeywell PTM 7950 (phase change) thermal pad. This stuff is amazing. Not quite Liquid Metal but the best thermal material I have ever used. I got a sheet of it from China, took about 2 weeks for delivery but damn this stuff is crazy good.
