  1. yas! the more the merrier, good to have experienced folks from good ol' NBR finding their way here. rock da Alienware & MSI forums here! ðŸĪ˜ðŸ˜
  2. id say yes, were talking almost 10C lower at same voltage and multi and even 2C lower still at one multi higher and +30mV thats basically a delid worth of added cooling right there!
  3. but but but....it looks so NICE! rounded corners! new wallpaper! and most importantly, its NEW and SHINY! ðŸĪŠ
  4. yep thats what im suspecting. planning to check with premamod and a higher tier psu at some point, we definitely have thermal headroom on the gpu for higher sustained / more stable clocks. cpu will be tricky, especially with the upcoming 13900K id wager haha. yep, agreed. im currently testing all possible combinations of ram stick pairs since the G.Skill 3800 kit i have is 4x8GB. so far done with 3 out of 6 possible pairings, no luck yet in breaking the 3500/3800 barriers for G1/G2. what i HAVE noticed though, is that different pairs need different training times to reach 3500/G1, i.e. the very first pairing took about 3 minutes bootloop training, whereas the last one i did last night took 12-13 minutes to finally boot. AIDA64 testing also showed significant performance differences, so im guessing tertiary timings play a big role in this regard. so based on this, even if none of the pairs differ in max Mhz achieved, ill still check their respective performance numbers to make sure i get the best pairing for subtimings. and yes, i also suspect its a combo of cpu imc and mobo (hopefully more of the former!). ur input makes me hopeful that it is indeed the former.
  5. same boat passenger here. im ready to get my mind / socks / butt / everything else blown (off) once i switch to monster desktop land in sep/oct ðŸĪŠ

    Astronomy

thats actually a quite hilarious idea. or how about the stuff left behind on the moon by the apollo astronauts? that would also be sweet. btw, cant wait for artemis to make headway so we can finally get back to the moon! 4K HDR live stream from the moon, anyone? 😁
  7. true, BGA always sucks, but at least u can give the hardware some leeway in terms of wattage limits (or non-existence thereof, just juice until the VRMs / psu gives out on you! 😛 )
  8. cool man, thanks for the data! can u go ahead and try running firestrike extreme or ultra stress test for like 10 min? furmark has the tendency to artificially throttle down the gpu so we might not be getting the actual peaks. also, up the HWInfo polling to as fast as it can go at 50ms so we can catch any quick peaks, as well 🙂 so far it looks like its working, but doesnt provide much more power headroom vs the stock psu, as seen in the max system power at just 234W...
  9. niiice u got the 330W Delta with our plug! when are u getting it in? please report back on how much wattage u can pull in peak with that 🙂 VERY curious! preliminary results: G1 tops out at 3500 Mhz, G2 at 3800 Mhz (both run error free in TM5 1usmus but so far only with auto timings, havent tightened them yet). Toms Hardware did a review on my sticks and they found they could clock them up to 4000 Mhz at 1.35V, so that leaves the cpu IMC and the mobo itself. besides, so far ive only tested two sticks, ill check and see if there are any slight differences among the four sticks (two are in my machine, but they barely get up to 3333 Mhz without errors) to try and push to 3600 on G1 and 4000 on G2. wouldnt that be something? 4000 Mhz DDR4 in a laptop ðŸĪ
  10. yeah so funny....what was it? like 63 or so bugs reported JUST by the GN A380 review alone? just goes to show what kinda value it has to work openly with the community 🙂 instead of hiding behind closed doors... edit: looked it up, it was actually 43, but still a bunch! haha
  11. ha, for now only G2, im checking what the frequency limit is. booted at 3800 Mhz last night ðŸĪ  i also plan to check where G1 caps out, should be interesting! so yes, u can manually switch gears in the bios 😁 on desktops it seems that 4000 is the point on G1 where things start to get sketchy, so naturally would be lower on a laptop. id expect minimum 3200 on G1, with a bit of luck maybe 3400-3600.
  12. ha was thinking of our convo here when i saw the vid last night 🙂
  13. very cool find, separate CPU, I/O and Voltage Regulator dies, crazy stuff!
  14. niiiice, good to finally have a look at that card incl detailes specs! 🙂 u got any info on pricing? so far only rumours and "personalized" prices 😛 also funny how highly specific the MTBF hour rating is lol. sounds like they did actual testing haha
  15. whoa dude that poor little 550W psu... ive also been pushing the ram on my lady's machine, happy to say i was able to reach 3733 Mhz! thats the highest ive ever gotten out of DDR4 in a laptop ðŸĪ  and yep, definitely not possible without Prema Mod....
  16. dont give up yet! hang in there 🙂
  17. nice to see the P570 monster still up and kickin' 🙂 have u checked used part markets like ebay, craigs list, etc.?
  18. LOL nah man, those were just reference pics i found on the net, i havent had those cards for ages 😄
  19. well that sux, wasnt aware that the sbios is such a limiting factor on this machine...
  20. oh ure definitely not alone with this issue, i ran into the same and used a piece of precisely cut and folded paper / thin cardboard to wedge the cable into place. its not the most elegant solution and it usually takes several tries until all keyboard buttons work properly, but in the end it does work haha
